The escape away from the monastery was far too easy for someone like me. Not that they'll chase after me. Not after what I did... But now that I have the knowledge to become the strongest Kzin ever, I need to learn more about this world, and what better way that to work for an enterprise collecting well trained individuals from across this span of existence. Making money by traveling with powerful items in our grasp, while able to work both sides, completely legitimately, is delicious.
I can't say too much for the crew, not as of yet anyways. I never imagined elves were scrawny and frail looking. The human and wood loving elf keep far off relations of mine as familiars, it is rather uncomfortable. There is this sea faring creature with huge teeth and fur. I cannot even imagine that if I ate one, it would taste good. One of the elves definitely sinister, and the other seems to be decently ambivalent, but his attitude shows malice in his voice when dealing with these quarrelsome parties. But since I have not seen their abilities nor their strengths, I withhold my judgment for worthy allies are hard to come by. Appearances is nothing, power is all.
The employer, however has severe lack of meticulous behavior. Not only is he a shabby businessman, he lets his motives become apparent to the queen, who now our business is direct with. She seems to be much of a sound mind, wise, and generous. She has granted us say in freedom from pesky checkpoints which would have tried my patience, but also giving us the order to kill his men if they try to do anything funny or sinister to her will be more than reward, as I'll have good chance to use my skills.
The center of the land intrigues me, I hope that one day I'll be able to see it in person. So far we haven't accomplished anything substantial, only gained our alliances. The only person to fear would be the receptionist at the castle, she should have been reported and... dealt with. I only wish I could have done the same with that halfling! The town is filled with the little creeps. I don't trust them at all, no real strength behind them. I will see if they have any skill with metal, hopefully able to make the silver claw tips I've been craving, not that I need them, but silver is always a nice thing to have in case need be, and a concealed weapon makes them all the better.
Other than something to scratch, these living quarters are quite nice. The fireplace warmth comforts me, also lights my means to write while all are asleep. No one knows what the future entails, but I'll be there to make sure it is.
Volnir the hunter.
