The escape away from the monastery was far too easy for someone like me. Not that they'll chase after me. Not after what I did... But now that I have the knowledge to become the strongest Kzin ever, I need to learn more about this world, and what better way that to work for an enterprise collecting well trained individuals from across this span of existence. Making money by traveling with powerful items in our grasp, while able to work both sides, completely legitimately, is delicious.

I can't say too much for the crew, not as of yet anyways. I never imagined elves were scrawny and frail looking. The human and wood loving elf keep far off relations of mine as familiars, it is rather uncomfortable. There is this sea faring creature with huge teeth and fur. I cannot even imagine that if I ate one, it would taste good. One of the elves definitely sinister, and the other seems to be decently ambivalent, but his attitude shows malice in his voice when dealing with these quarrelsome parties. But since I have not seen their abilities nor their strengths, I withhold my judgment for worthy allies are hard to come by. Appearances is nothing, power is all.

The employer, however has severe lack of meticulous behavior. Not only is he a shabby businessman, he lets his motives become apparent to the queen, who now our business is direct with. She seems to be much of a sound mind, wise, and generous. She has granted us say in freedom from pesky checkpoints which would have tried my patience, but also giving us the order to kill his men if they try to do anything funny or sinister to her will be more than reward, as I'll have good chance to use my skills.

The center of the land intrigues me, I hope that one day I'll be able to see it in person. So far we haven't accomplished anything substantial, only gained our alliances. The only person to fear would be the receptionist at the castle, she should have been reported and... dealt with. I only wish I could have done the same with that halfling! The town is filled with the little creeps. I don't trust them at all, no real strength behind them. I will see if they have any skill with metal, hopefully able to make the silver claw tips I've been craving, not that I need them, but silver is always a nice thing to have in case need be, and a concealed weapon makes them all the better.

Other than something to scratch, these living quarters are quite nice. The fireplace warmth comforts me, also lights my means to write while all are asleep. No one knows what the future entails, but I'll be there to make sure it is.

Volnir the hunter.

My arrival today in Stifa after the tedious voyage from Ruwalk was fairly uneventful, for which I am grateful. On disembarking from the ship, I was directed towards the offices of Black Enterprises, and soon found myself in a conference room with a rather mixed group of individuals apparently hailing from all parts of Vanroo. There were two other elves there, but fortunately neither appeared to be from the forests of Ruwalk. One even appeared to be something of a barbarian. Appalling, really. Also present was a single human, as well as a very large cat-like creature and one that resembled a man-sized otter. As I have not prior done much venturing away from Ruwalk, I am not familiar with what race they might be. We did not exchange any introductions until much later in the day, and instead sat rather awkwardly in silence until Mr Black himself arrived in the room, looking very much like he had dressed himself in the dark. He explained to us the terms of our employment with his company, and requested that we sign our contracts. I do not pretend to know the motivations of the others, or if any of them are in a similar situation to my own, but we all signed and were sent on our first task, escorted by a rather disgusting little dwarf. Thankfully the nasty little thing was mute, so we did not have to listen to him as we transported our package to the palace grounds.

On our arrival at the palace, we learned from the clerk that the package was in fact very late; the human Elektra and myself ventured into the Queen's rather decadent chamber to complete the delivery. Though I was somewhat concerned about being separated from Li'yanrae during this time, my human companion assured me that the guard's intentions were honest and so I felt somewhat confident that he could take care of himself while we finished our business. Our exchange within was interesting, and something I hesitate to put onto paper, even in a concealed form such as this. Suffice to say, our relations with the Queen on further tasks should be much friendlier than this one started out to be. On completion of our meeting, we reunited with the rest of our group (and Li'yanrae as well), and were shown the way out.

It was about this time we realized that, while we had inquired about our housing during the time we would be in the employment of Black Enterprises, none of us had actually thought to ask where that housing would be. We instead ventured into a bar which, as luck would have it, sold excellent elven wine. Also, as luck would have it, it was right next to the Inn which serves as housing for the company's contractors. The otter-kin Twisp and I ventured to the docks to retrieve our belongings, only to learn that they had been sent to the Inn while we were occupied. When we returned, the others had already proceeded to the room. The clerk at the desk was an elf, so along with the location of our room, I also enquired about the presence of any elvish restaurants in the city and was told that there was in fact one at the top floor of the Inn. The room we have been given is something of a flat with four bedrooms (two of them designed for double occupancy), a common area, a kitchen and a bath. I have taken one of the double rooms, with an invitation to Twisp to take the other bed; he however has chosen to sleep in the bath. I retired to record my thoughts and meditate while the others divided the rooms up amongst themselves. Unless the cat Volnir has decided to sleep in front of the fireplace, I imagine the females will share the other double room, and the remaining two will each claim their own. I couldn't really see those two in the same room, honestly. I don't think it would be large enough...
