Can we unlock this post so that non-members who might know them can see it? I'm passing this out to people I know from the area.

Yes. [info]heatherrae should go to the edit posts function, select "last 20 posts" and then in the field "community" enter "camarilla."

Select her own post, click edit, change the security setting to public, and then save.

Then the post is viewable to all.

While not something I encourage, it's acceptable in this instance.

Can you explain this policy to me? I understand why posting and commenting in the community would be restricted to only to community members. I do not understand why READING the community is restricted only to community members.

Thanks.

Except I never set it to limit to just Friends in the first place...it automatically did that. But I went back and changed it. I hope this fixes it.

It's a function of the community, all posts automatically become "friends locked" unless you manually unlock them after posting, but per Mr. Buser that is 'discouraged.'

Thanks! I'm posting a link to this to my blog, I know some NOLA non-cammies read it now and then, and most of them have either gotten out, or have communications channels in and out of there.

Will this post be updated as information on the whereabouts of the named people becomes available?

Considering how small a percentage of the whole population of NOLA Cammies are, this is a scary number of people with unknown location.

Here's hoping for the best...

I'm not really surprised. WE're talking about a spread for refugees slighly larger than the Whole UK. Little to no communication availible, as land lines and Cell towers fall down like everything else. Add to that the fact that we don't all live in one house, ro even one block, and that it may be another week before they get cell phones back, if anyone happens to have the entire domain on speed dial and not in paper or computer lost to the city.

I'm kinda amazed we've found so many so quickly.

Scott Waguespack:

His sister has been in contact, and it is assumed she would have said something if he was not okay. Granted, this isn't confirmation, but it's a positive note.
