An Important Question. Does anyone on my friends list live near Burbank and have space for a temporary roomie?
If not, I'm backing out of the applying for the internship. Even if by some miracle I got in, out of all those animation students, I would have no place to stay. I have no car. And I'm broke.
I've already planned to stay here anyways for school. |

Meat Phishing I buy a lot of stuff on eBay because it's usually cheaper even after shipping.
Unfortunately I've fallen victim three times to what I call "meat phishing."
It's where someone sells you stolen merchandise at an incredible price, then refuses to ship the item until you use their checkout system to pay for it.
Their checkout system, of course, collects all of your personal information and uses a script to log into and take over your eBay account, changing all of the account information so you can't recover your password.
It sucks, but hey, I still got a $450 track suit for 1 cent plus $20 shipping from Hong Kong and a $350 diagnostic computer for my car for $1 plus $30 shipping from Hong Kong and all I had to do was spend 15 minutes bickering with eBay's chat line to get all of my info fixed. |

Survival Mode Friday! This used to my nickname for Friday at the print shop when we actually had a production manager...so much crap would be due on a Friday, thats basically I would go into "survival mode", which basically meant that all I had to do was survive this Friday with as few incidents as possible and get as much done, and everything would be OK. This is going to be one of those Fridays. Added in there for me personally is the stress of that memorial service thing that we're having tomorrow here at the home, which means when I get home I'll probably have to work more at cleaning up and shit. Had a nice time at Chicken last night, though I think a few regulars were missing. I had crummy allergies all day and was 50/50 late in the day on even going, but I thought what the heck. Within an hour of being down there, my allergies cleared up *completely*. I mean, not even a trace of phlegm or snot or a small cough or whatever. Obviously theres something in the air in this area thats getting to me, because now I'm coughing and wheezing a little again. I had a fun time though! I sampled the next-to-hottest wing flavor, and man, it literally made me cry it was so hot. A rather...funny moment at work yesterday though. One of the sales associates from one of the two major paper comes by, and brings in some new paper sample books. One paper company, Domtar, has several paper lines now named after animals. I pull out a sample book, and what do I find? Husky Offset. With a giant, ultra close up of a husky face on the cover. arf! (in fact, that was pretty much my reaction when I saw it the cover). Sharing my joy with you all! I've got love for Snow Patrol, alright? I've said this before, but I must say it again. They make such beautiful music. Many times when I listen to these songs (Particularly Chasing Cars) I feel like going to some relaxing spot in the mountains to lay in the grass, extra nice if it was a warm day with a soft breeze to make sure you're kept cool. A day where you are able to just be and not care about the world and its troubles. One day I'd like to be able to do that, I want to be able to be away from home and away from life. I feel at peace when I'm in the mountains. I think after a day of that I'd be very calm or very energetic, but have such a loving attitude either way. I just decided to start listening to the lyrics of this song, and it's become as powerful to me as many of the other songs. It's that along with his wonderful voice and the music behind it that's currently got strong hold on my attention. I am thankful I was given the chance to watch and listen to them before my eyes and play these awesome songs. I've been feeling restless and fighting off stress these past few days, and this managed to be something that helped. I can survive throughout this, but it's just such a strain. My heart always feels like I cannot amount to anything and I will not be loved in the end, I'm desperate to avoid this since there's so much time to go, so I'm really giving it my best in this battle. I don't know why I feel so tired today. I had some frustrating dreams last night; then work was dreadfully dull. I felt like I was about to zonk out at the podium. I did finally manage an EO though. When I got home, I felt really tired. I wanted to close my eyes for a few minutes, but woke up 3 or 4 hours later, still feeling exhausted. I managed to wake myself up a little bit, but even after doing some weight lifting, I still feel like I could zonk out at any moment. Nyaa, I hate feeling so drained. There is so much stuff I want to do, but I keep wanting to go back to bed. I didn't think that I was too sleep deprived. I get a decent average of 5 to 6 hours of sleep at night, but lately if I take a nap in the afternoon, I end up sleeping well into the late evening. *Grumbles* I've got more important things to do other than sleep. As nice as sleep is, I've got writing and drawing and stuff that I really need to get done. I can't help but feel like I'm wasting time, sleeping like the cat all day long. I have been doing some doodling lately though. So I might be getting back on track with getting a finished piece done in the near future, if I can stay in the groove long enough. Progress on my novel is very slow, but I'm getting more pieces of it together. Now if I could actually get people to sit down and read what I've got, that would be helpful. I'm thinking of posting an excerpt of my work to one of the several LJ writing communities, though I don't know how well it will go over there. I want to get more of the segment I'm working on completed before I post it though . . . Anywho, to quote Bush on American Dad: "Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a speech to stammer through." I just finished my English essay. XD Now all I have left to work on all weekend and next week is my stupid Art project. Huzzah. I was going to reward myself with seeing Speed Racer tomorrow morning, but I can't. I just found out that I have a dermatology appointment tomorrow. XP Well, poo. Earliest show I can get to is at noon and my appointment is at 2:30. I'd have fifteen minutes to get from the theater home to pick Sam up and back to Van Nuys for the appointment. XP Bah... sucks. Sam gave me the best advice the other day: What is worth having is worth waiting for. Brilliant, I tell you! Well, new Foster's is gonna be on. O_o Gotta watch! It's all about the intar-webs! Later Dayz. *BAMFs out* Current Mood: accomplishedCurrent Music: cartoon network |

Some Careers are Worse than Others... From Volume #2 of the enormously diverting "London Labour and the London Poor", by Henry Mayhew: The name of Pure-finders, however, has been applied to the men engaged in collecting dogs’ dung from the public streets[...]
The pure-finders meet with a ready market for all the dogs’ dung they are able to collect, at the numerous tanyards in Bermondsey, where they sell it by the stable-bucket full, and get from 8d. to 10d. per bucket, and sometimes 1s. and 1s. 2d. for it, according to its quality. The dry limy-looking sort fetches the highest price at some yards, as it is found to possess more of the alkaline, or purifying properties; but others are found to prefer the dark moist quality. Strange as it may appear, the preference for a particular kind has suggested to the finders of Pure the idea of adulterating it to a very considerable extent; this is effected by means of mortar broken away from old walls, and mixed up with the whole mass, which it closely resembles; in some cases, however, the mortar is rolled into small balls similar to those found. Hence it would appear, that there is no business or trade, however insignificant or contemptible, without its own peculiar and appropriate tricks.

Messrs. Leomont and Roberts do more business in the particular branch of tanning in which the article is principally used, viz., in dressing the leather for book-covers, kidgloves, and a variety of other articles.***** So, if you've got any nice Victorian books with leather covers, they were made with Dog poop. as the new sun rises. Today I am 26 years old and I feel younger this day than I have felt in years. Standing on the edge of the world, I see it all unfurl before me. Once afraid and in the dark, I see a new sun rising and I find myself with a resolute and indomitable will to live and experience life as I have never done so before. I could not even begin to show the gratitude I have for the outpouring of well wishes, kind words and gestures that I have received on this day. Teary eyed and overflowing with joy I am reminded again how lucky I am to be surrounded by such love and kindness. I am heading out to Seattle today to spend a wonderful evening with Wicked_Sairah, Bloo-roo and Jl Anderson. Friday I leave for California to spend over two weeks with my dear friend Bagheera and attend Califur and meet some new folks and get reaquainted with some familiar faces :). I look forward to every moment, every experience. I don't think I have smiled so much in my whole life! Thank you for your thoughts, your words, your every little part in my life. I will leave this on a less corney note with a touch of new art. I am not sure where everyone keeps up with artwork from artists..seems people are gallery hopping at an amazing speed and I just can't keep up! So let me know if you would like me to keep posting my new works on Livejournal. I don't want to bombard you all with redundant images :). ( Simbelmyne ) Current Mood: happy |

Just a small reminder: 63 years ago, in a small schoolhouse in Germany, the war in Europe finally came to an end after six years of wholesale slaughter that has never been seen since. Four of my uncles we part of the Allied forces, two in the Pacific, two in Europe. One of them was a POW in Germany for two years. The other one of the first people to enter Buchenwald. Both are long dead, but I still thank them for the effort they and millions of others made to end the greatest nightmare of the 20th Century. ----- We return you to your regularly scheduled DRAHMA. |

Win Kane WINS! Being made of WIN! Thank you lonebluewolf
Winning Kane is made of WIN! This be an icon I commissioned from lonebluewolf once I saw the new one he made for himself. It turned out awesome. I might actually commission one more..I have a 2nd idea brewing in my head. Also, as an aside, this does mean that I've "upgraded" to a advertisement account on LJ, to make room for the LJ icons. So far, so good. I think i can live with this ^^ MEGA HYPER BONUS POINTS if you recognize the pose! |
