Whee! I'll be seeing you all next weekend! (Not this upcoming one, haha!) I will probably settle myself in the zoo (if there is one, and if it's called that!) with my friend Blue, and try to snag some commissions. I will have my art stuff with me and be selling things from 25 cents to a dollar. :3 Full color commishes are $10 and badges are $5. I work real fast and good. Other than that; see you there! Official-ish Charity news! + Bonus 'free -gas' opportunity. The bad news: Our con takes place the same weekend as our charity's largest yearly event, the Big Cat Bazaar ... They are generally understaffed as is, so certainly cannot afford to sent anyone to the con to run any panels or otherwise educate people about the facility. This also means by default no cute-and-fuzzies being brought to the con that make you weak in the knees so you can't chase them when they steal all your money. :/ I'd also like to point out that while dealing with the EFBC they were wary of anything I had to offer for help because apparently they had issues with fur cons both in San Fransisco and San Diego in the past... I hope we can do better than that. The Good News: I finally got the OK from a legal perspective to do what I think is the best I can do to help out... long story short, there's going to be a special charity-related item auctioned off at the Cabaret. If you like going to zoos, especially the EFBC, you won't want to miss it. On a side note, this is rather short notice but I'll be going to the EFBC on Sunday to take care of the business mentioned above. I'm going to try to get there shortly after they open, and will be staying until they kick me out. Anyone that wants to know the specifics of what I have planned for the con is free to make the trip to Rosamond and I'll cover your entry fees, just mention you're with that guy from Califur, BluJaguar, or Tim Wells and they should let you in. If I'm late I'll call ahead to let them know. Yeah, it's a bit out of the way for many... but it's a nice trip, and you can bring you mom like I'm going to, moms love kitties. :) (Sunday is Mother's Day, you know that right?) Califur website problems? I'm attempting to pre-reg for Califur since the deadline is tomorrow and I get this message: Database UnavailableWe are currently recieveing a higher than usual volume of traffic. Please try to reload the page again in a few minutes. I can't imagine there are that many furries attempting to pre-reg for Califur at the same time. Could the admins look into this? Califur Train
Hi guys, I was wondering if someone could answer a question or two for me. :3
I've never been to Califur but I'm considering going this year. As I'm reading about it, I noticed the past years have had a Califur Train group going on from Vancouver and Seattle.... is that going on this year at all? |

California Vendor License?
I was hoping to apply for a dealer's table for this year's Califur but I've never applied for a California Vendor's License before, and I must admit I am a little overwhelmed.
Does anyone know where I can get help with filling out the various information needed to send off for one? I am a California resident if that makes any difference.

Hello everyone! Hi! I'm Icen! I'm sure a lot of people here don't really know who I am. I had no idea it existed and only thought that FurFright, ConFur, and AnthroCon were the only things out there as far as furry conventions! (I went to AC last summer.) Just Wondering I just got back from FC and I had a blast. I meet a lot of great people, and I really wouldn't mind coming back to see all of you in California. So I guess, what i really want to know is would fly to Califur if you lived out here? Its more thin likely going to be a two to three hundred dollar expense for the ticket to fly out there. Gore limit?
Does anyone know the limit when it comes to some blood and such? (nothing to bad eheh). Im working on a piece for the artshow and im worried on if it'll be allowed due to the blood in it. Its nothing that bad. Just some blood and tiny bits of flesh on fur and mechanical limbs, then maybe some fake blood on the frame a bit...can any one tell me so i can lower it down a rating before i scan and paint it? |

thinking of going hello furs! I've been in the furdom for about a year now, and I've been wanting to go to a furry con, and of course my first choice (more location that anything else) was Califur. I'm sure I would have a blast because what's more fun than a building full of furries? =) However, I have heard that drama builds up very quickly and I'm wondering if it's worth it to go if all that's going to happen in the end is way more drama than I can deal with.
