Hi there. This is (obviously) my icon communty, and I'm finally getting it off the ground, I hope. I'm gonna answer what may be some questions people might ask me about my icons....

What graphics program do you use? I used to use the Gimp, which is fine. It worked for me, but I enjoy my new program, Photoshop Elements 5 quite a bit.

Where do you get your ideas? I look at pictures, and just see what I can do with them. The batch I'll be posting today, for example, I just played around. I normally don't start an icon with a specific idea in mind.

What do you make icons for? Anything really. I make a lot of harry potter icons, but I also make icons for different RPs I'm in, or fan fics I've read.

Do you take requests I sure do. See this post for my request box.

Okay, now that that little bit of back-patting is done, I should give a bit of background first...

These icons I am posting today are made with the GIMP, a free image-editing software. The icons I post after today will not be. The icons I post in the future will be made on my brand-spakin-new Adobe Photoshop Elements, which I splurged on. There may be a drop in quality as I attempt to figure out the features and tools on PSE. I have not ventured into downloading brushes or textures yet; maybe I'll attempt that this upcoming long weekend.

My basic style of icon making is to take a picture, and work it in many different ways. I have had instances when I have a specific icon in mind, so I set out to make that icon, but that's only happened once.

Welcome to my icon journal! It's bare-bones right now, but keep your eye on it throughout the week; I'll be making some changes, posting some icons, etc. I don't really expect anyone to use any of the icons I post here, though if someone does, that's great. I love feedback though. :)
