We drove back to Madison on Thursday afternoon, and we'll be here until just before Christmas.
Yesterday we went out to cut down a Christmas tree. Caitlyn had fun helping, Lachie was not impressed with the cold wind. (or the fact that someone (it wasn't me! lol) let go of his hand and he face planted in the snow.)



They decorated the tree before bed, and put the lights on

And Caitlyn finally got to build her snowman!

Last night Kev's cousin Ian slept over, because his parents and older brother were busy doing the tour of his new college campus, and so Caitlyn and Ian could have a bit of fun playing together.

Last night after he went to bed, Caitlyn cried when she heard that he was going home today, and then this afternoon when he left, they both had overtired, too-much-sugar meltdowns.

They had a lot of fun making cookies and decoorating them yesterday afternoon after the football game finished on tv. And Lachie even joined in their hide and seek game last night.

....visit the beach most days if you live 2 blocks away, and summer is almost upon us? ;-) Lachie is so much more confident going near the water than Caitlyn was at that age... but she's quite adventurous now!

She went in quite deep, past her waist, and would have gone further, but I called her back... didn't feel like rescuing her and Lachie without ruining my camera lol.

I'm sorry everyone, I can't believe another month has passed since I updated here.

I know it's been a long time since I posted any photos here, I am sorry! I'll try and make up for it ;)

This afternoon we went for a walk to the beach again.
I can't believe how close we are, and how much nicer the beach is here than most of Hervey Bay beaches. They are usually muddy and yuck and the tide goes way out so that all you can see are puddles and mud flats.
It is really pretty down here, especially since it's not a touristy area, and there are no idiots driving fast/loud cars... like on a lot of the Esplanade.
And I timed it on the way back, and even with Lachie walking, it only took 7 mins.

Lachie is being a clingy grumper today so I have been sitting half the morning with him on my lap. I did some things to some photos so I thought I'd post them

This was how close our camp site was to the beach! ... just over a sand dune.

Lachie has had a bit of a rough week lol.
He fell over right onto his head, and had an almost instant huge lump... talk about a heart attack! but he was fine. He's still got a yellow/brown/purple bruise on his head though.
And last night he was chasing Caitlyn around the kitchen and fell onto his arms and then head butted the floor... instant fat lip, complete with blood and lots of tears. He was over it again pretty quickly though.

We finally made it to the pool today!

It has a great babies/toddlers/wading pool, which is covered with a shade sail. They had great fun.
Lachie was a bit apprehensive at first, but he had enjoyed himself a lot by the time we left. I even took him over to the big pool and he had a dip up to his neck into the water, and he kicked and laughed and tried to swim! This is a baby who has never been in anything but a blow up kids pool with a couple of inches of water in it.

Caitlyn found a friend while she was there, and they had a lengthy discussion about how they both had Dorothy the dinosaur on their outfits lol.

The photos are a bit blurry because I was trying not to let my camera get rained on lol.

We had close to 100mm (almost 4 inches) yesterday afternoon/evening... in an hour or so. It was a bit scary!

Here's some photos of Lachie's birthday cupcakes...

We had a hard time finding the right time to do his 'blowing out of the candle' etc lol. He gets so tired and cranky by the end of the day, he was totally not in the mood for any festivities on saturday night (when we were doing the birthday dinner thing), and was in bed by 7:30.
So I made these cupcakes for him on sunday afternoon and we had them then. He was seriously not impressed though, and not in a smiling mood lol.
Caitlyn was much more excited than he was!
She had been talking for maybe 2 weeks about how she was going to "help Lachie blow out all his candles" despite the fact that we kept telling her that there would only be 1 candle haha.

oh my gosh, this has been the fastest year of my life!!

I can't believe Lachie is a year old today.

I am so amazed and lucky to have 2 such lovely children ......Happy Birthday little man!















Those last 2 are from this morning, with one of the trucks from Grandma Lynn... he wasn't in a very smiley mood... and my camera was being stupid :P

The other day I had to capture this cute moment, when the kids were taking the rare chance to be adorable!

Caitlyn was reading to Lachie, and he was happy to sit there and watch.







The 4th one is "ok I'm done... let me out of here!!"



And the last one of Lachie doing his I-can-take-up-a-whole-king-size-bed impression.

I made this for Caitlyn on Sunday, using this pattern. It's a little too small, I might add snaps to the straps instead of tying them.
And the neckline is a bit weird... I adjusted the pattern a bit for next time.... but I like it. She thinks it's an apron.  And she kept asking if she could go and work in the garden in her "apron". lol.

I love, love this t-shirt. I had to have it when it was added to the store last week, and now I love it even more, because the model is just too cute as well ;)
