The IMDB cast list has been updated to include the 2 Olympians who were missing from the earlier cast lists:

Artemis - Ona Grauer
Hephaestus - Conrad Coates

This answers the questions in previous threads on whether all 12 Olympians will be shown in "The Lightning Thief." Missing from the list is Ray Winstone who plays Ares.

When a movie based on a popular book series like "Harry Potter" or "Twilight" opens, it can change the lives of the young actors who star in it. Overnight, a Daniel Radcliffe or Taylor Lautner can go from a relative unknown to a budding new superstar.

Ask Brandon T. Jackson if he's ready for that to happen to him when "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" opens Friday and you might expect the comic actor to reply with a joke. But instead he's philosophical.

i found this tv spot earlier today :)

With director Chris Columbus’ Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief opening this Friday, I was able to talk with screenwriter Craig Titley (Scooby-Doo, Cheaper by the Dozen) about his involvement in the project yesterday afternoon.  During the interview, we talked about writing Percy Jackson, his involvement in Star Wars: The Clone Wars cartoon (he’s written two episodes), and what’s up with 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  And just to clarify the 20,000 Leagues story, two competing projects were going at the same time last year, one was at Disney with McG helming, and one was being developed at New Line with Sam Raimi’s company.  Titley wrote the New Line one.  During the interview he talks about his take on the material and what it’s about.
 
And one final thing before the interview…I need to come clean. Craig Titley and I have been friends for a number of years, so it’s more of a conversation between friends than a hard hitting interview.

The Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief soundtrack. Who needs Harry Potter when you’ve got Percy Jackson? That’s what you might hear Chris Columbus saying these days, out loud, to anyone who might be within earshot, if you happen to bump into him in a West Hollywood Starbucks. He might be wearing a sandwich board with the legend “Liked Potter? Try Percy!” written across it, and ringing a cowbell. Hell, if David Lynch can promote Laura Dern’s Oscar credentials on the side of a cow, why the hell not?

The movie will be released in 3 days and hopefully it will be a big hit AND we are all super excited but there are a few rules that I would like to remind you guys:

Screen adaptations of best-selling series for young readers are a tricky proposition. The trickiest part isn’t necessarily what you’d expect: getting the film rights or finding studio backing or even making the actual picture. It’s getting past the first adaptation. If you doubt that, look at the one-and-done film history of Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi’s “Spiderwick Chronicles,’’ Anthony Horowitz’s Alex Rider books, Philip Pullman’s “His Dark Materials,’’ Christopher Paolini’s “Eragon’’ books, the Lemony Snicket series, or Cornelia Funke’s “Inkworld’’ trilogy.

It’s avoiding their example - while following in the financial footsteps of the immensely successful Harry Potter films - that Fox 2000 and director Chris Columbus are hoping for with “Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief’’ (the longer the title, the better the chances of success?).
