Welcome to [info]ca_stillness moderated by [info]damnskippytoo, a weekly icon challenge community featuring the hotness that is the Cordy and Angel relationship from the television series "Angel." As the name implies, all icons will be "still" - no animation allowed. Everything else is permissable. This community was inspired by [info]quebelly's [info]buffy_stillness, the original stillness community. The stillness moderators use [info]mod_stillness to promote and maintain their communities.

Members will not be allowed to post original entries without posting access. You can, of course, post comments to entries. All icon entries will be screened.

The Rules

  1. All icons must conform to LJ standards - 100x100 and 40kb or less.
  2. Enter only one icon for each challenge, unless otherwise instructed.
  3. Enter in a reply (comment) to the original challenge post. Comments/entries will be screened.
  4. No voting for yourself because egotistical much!?
  5. If you enter an icon in the challenge, you must vote. If you don't vote, your icons will be disqualified.
  6. Icons must not be animated.
  7. Please don't enter an icon that you've already made and are already using.
  8. Banners will only be awarded if requested. Please specify if you want a banner when you post your entry.
  9. Do not take any icons without the icon makers' permission.

The Challenges:

  1. Since the Cordy and Angel relationship is about two friends falling in love, the challenges will not always be shippy in nature. I will also post caps that reflect their friendship as well as individual Cordy and Angel caps. When I do that, you may choose to blend them if you wish but it will not be required. At times there will be no screencaps provided but only a lyric, poem, theme, or color for which you will choose the cap(s). Or I may think of something else! Requirements of each challenge will be explained.
  2. Voting will be open to members only to avoid anyone dragging their friends over to vote for their work. It's not nice to vote for yourself, so it's not allowed here. If voting becomes nonexistent due to limited membership, I will probably open it up to everyone.
  3. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. A mod's choice award (the "Champion's Heart Award") will be given only when the moderator feels it is deserved for originality, composition, appropriateness for the theme, and/or just how frickin' gorgeous it is. It may or may not be one of the top three placed icons.

We will sometimes hold an "Iconathon Challenge" which differs from our normal stillness challenges.

Special Iconathon Challenge Rules:
  1. Each week you will be given 3 caps: 1 Cordy, 1 Angel, and 1 C/A.
  2. You may submit one icon for each cap (no combining caps). You do NOT have to submit all 3 if you don't want to. The more icons you submit, however, the more points you get.
  3. For one icon you will receive 1 point just for entering, for two icons you will receive 3 points, and for 3 icons you will receive 5 points.
  4. Each week we will vote for the top 3 icons in each set of icons (i.e., there will be separate voting for Cordy icons, Angel icons and C/A icons.) We will NOT vote on the icons as sets since you are not required to enter all three.
  5. Each first place icon in each category earns 9 points; Second place earns 6 points; Third place earns 3 points.
  6. I will list the icon makers and their total scores each week so you'll know where you stand.
  7. At the end of 5 rounds, I will announce the Challenge winners. Each person will get a banner for either winning one of the top 3 places or participating.
