AboutThis community is dedicated to the little-known and much-overlooked anime and manga Kimi wa Pet by Ogawa Yayoi, or Tramps Like Us in Tokyopop's translations.
For those of you unfamiliar to the series (why are you here? ^_~), it's about a troubled young woman by the name of Sumire, who is very beautiful and successful but emotionally reclusive. She happens upon a young boy named Takeshi hiding out in a cardboard box and takes him in out of pity. But against her vows not to let him stay, the boy grew on her, and also reminded her of her dog Momo, who guided her through rough times in childhood. And thus, Takeshi became Momo, offered permanent lodgings and food under the condition that he would live as Sumire's pet. But of course, it isn't as easy as all that. . . Enter the trials and tribulations of love and lust, both unrequited and professed!
Kimi wa Pet is very heartrending and beautifully drawn, although a bit of a soap opera at times. It has a simple, realistic charm to it, even though the premise seems, no pun intended, far-fetched. And for those reasons alone, it deserves its own community.
And for those of you out there who are good with graphics, this community would love for you to offer your services. One layout to a good home!
