Charlie overdose on prescription medication

Ok. First of all, if you are going to flame me, then don't respond to this post please. Otherwise, I would love to know what you all think.

Now, I had this strange dream about a month ago and I thought that it would make a great story. The only problem is, I wouldn't know how to write it, with all of the medical problems and if they can actually happen. Anyway, here is the dream.

Charlie had an injured back and was taking a prescription medication for it. He was taking 50 mg, 2 to 3 times a day. (I don't know the name of the medicine, so I really couldn't tell you the name or dosage. All I know is that it was strong stuff). Anyway, his pharmacy ended up filling the medicine as 500 mg, 2 to 3 times a day, instead of the 50 mg. He began having reactions to it. They were so bad that it actually paralyzed him and he couldn't eat, speak, walk, move or even talk. Think of an MS patient (I would know about that since my Mom had MS and has died from it). That is how Charlie was. Alan was taking care of him at home and Don even moved back. Charlie went through speech therapy, water therapy,etc. While going through all of this, Don went the pharmacy, because they filled it wrong.

Charlie did eventually recover from it and was back to his normal self, by the end of the dream. Now, medically, I don't know if this is possible, so the story could be written as A/U (I think that is what I mean). Is anyone willing to try and give this one a shot? I'm still working on my other one and wouldn't be able to tackle this one, but I don't even know if I could write it, because I'm not that great with medical stuff.

What if this is mask something deeper something he does not realize yet? he had never been attracted to man before and thus doesn't recognize it for what it is. it could also explain why he doesn't find any girlfriend as deep down he isn't interested in getting one.
have Colby either realize it or someone he trusts points it out to him. then he must decide what to do with it
would be great if he does approach Don or if Don recognizes it once Colby is aware as now he has to try not to look. and Don knows very well what it is like to be looked at like that. He could seduce or Colby could work up courage.

We all know that Don has had a lot of girlfriends. From what we've seen, it's quite clear that neither Alan nor Charlie are fully aware of the exact extent of his number of girlfriends.

A lot of fics I've read make some kind of mention of the fact that Don has a certain reputation within the FBI for it too.

What I'd love to see is a fic where Alan overhears someone talking about Don's reputation and his reaction to it. This would probably work better pre-Liz or just as Don and Liz get together in season 3, but any time would work.

There are a few Stargate crossovers out there but I would like to see a Don/Daniel Jackson one. How I don't really care, but I think they'd make a great pairing. Daniel although academic definitely knows his way around guns and the other dangers in Don's world and has more than proven himself capable of putting up with it while still being true to himself. Don could learn from him how to cope not to mention he could do wonders for Daniel's sense of worth.
I would like to see Charlie not be impressed with Daniel at first as he has heard (or looks up) of Daniel and hears about his 'aliens built the pyramids' thing. He kind of makes comments like he did to that Dr. in Thirteen until someone makes him stop. Perhaps Don overhears and isn't pleased or Megan gives him a nudge and makes him realize the way Don interacts with Daniel? Or he sees the way Daniel is so clearly respected by his own team despite being an academic.

Perhaps Don could get assigned a case that has Goa'uld or alien aspects to it and thus Daniel and SG-1 are assigned to the case as well? Or perhaps Daniel is in LA and gets targetted by an alien or just a random criminal and it ends up an FBI case? Perhaps because he is a government consultant? Or a case Don is dealing with has archeological underpinnings and he requests a consultant and Daniel is assigned the case? Maybe Don is dealing with an abusive foster care couple and they track down all the kids who were in that home and Daniel was one of them? Perhaps Daniel is at CalSci as a guest speaker and Don meets him?

I definitely want to have a scene where people realize that there is more to Daniel than academics. Perhaps he needs to use a gun to save someone of the team? Or he pulls one of his selfless moves to save someone. Or he says something that shows he's aware of military tactics. Perhaps he is with the team when things go nasty and they end up in a fire fight and he proves he can keep his cool and act as part of the team?

background: don and edgerton have been lovers. for how long is up to you but there should be some background. perhaps since sniper zero or from before even. lately they've been getting closer though

now: don decides that it is time to introduce edgerton to his father and to charlie. yes charlie knows edgerton but he only does as an fbi agent and sniper not as don's lover. alan and charlie has suspected that there was someone in don's life again [okay alan suspected and mentioned it to charlie] but didn't know who. he has been happier so alan did not probe too deep.
the main part i would like to see is alan coming to terms with the bi thing and that don has chosen someone like edgerton. he had accepted an in-law who was an agent long ago but edgerton is too like coop for him. and so very military in some aspects. like even more violence and all than normal fbi agents and perhaps charlie had let slip some of what he had done when looking for megan. is like everything he fought against as a hippie and now he has to accept.
so lots of tension as alans ideals conflict head on with don and his choices yet again but he knows not to drive don away. especially since don has been happier lately.
some of charlie coming to terms with this new side of don and edgerton would be nice too. edgerton was always another agent and the tracker to him. he has a hard time seeing him as anything else or being 'in love/'

Since you're posting search/challenges, I was wondering if you could post one for me. \ I was thinking about a story where Don is about 19 and Charlie is about 13 and both Alan and Margaret died. Since Don is a legal adult, he becomes Charlie's guardian. I don't know if something like that has been written, but in my mind it brings up all kinds of problems. Like, Don gets into Princeton along with Charlie under the premise of a baseball scholarship, but in actuality Princeton had to let Don in because otherwise Charlie-boy-genius wouldn't have been able to go. So, Don's issues about using Charlie get about a thousand times worse. And then when Charlie starts consulting for the FBI or Don finds out about the NSA consulting? Whoo Drama!

Even though I really do like the Don character from the show I think that he actually really dislikes or even hates Charlie. Maybe it's because of their childhood and what he did while their mother was dying but they really don't get along. He agrees to use him on cases because they get solved faster-thus saving more lives but otherwise he ignores him or treats him badly. He tolerates him when they are around their Dad so they won't upset him but otherwise all bets are off.

I actually have a really dark scene for this idea in mind if anyone would like I can forward it to you. I will say though that it is really dark -- unfortunately my brain seems to be preset on angst.

Bunny: Don beats the crap out of Charlie

I'd like to see a story where something sets Don off and he just tears into Charlie beating the hell out of him? Like maybe after the ep in season one where he almost got shot by the sniper when he came down to the crime scene? What would Charlie do--does he leave, does he stay? Does he report Don? Or does he just say that he was mugged? And what does Don do?

The idea that I had in mind was Don beating the crap out of Charlie and Alan coming in at the tail end of it. Alan blames Charlie for setting Don off and doesn't bother to ask for his side of the story. So Charlie leaves, he goes to Washington and accepts a full time position with the NSA. Well there was a lot more too it but this was the minor points. This particular idea doesn't have to be used, I just wanted to add it just in case.

What if Charlie in the past did a lot of work for the other alphabet agencies and some of it was hands on. What if he was in Afghanistan while Colby was working his magic with numbers and had saved Colby's unit several times. I can just see him earning a nickname like 'Wizard' or something (or it could even be his codename). And when he and Colby meet up he's all excited and shaking his hand saying what an honor it was to meet him and he almost slips up and calls him 'Wizard' but Charlie's glare at the last moment switches it to 'Whiz Kid.' They could grab lunch later with Colby apologizing that he thought the FBI knew about his past which is why he almost blew his cover.

Sorry I don't really know how to make the subject line more descriptive for this one. What if Margaret Eppes 'cancer' wasn't really cancer but an engineered illness. Maybe some organization had gotten a hold of her and threatened to kill her if Charlie didn't solve the P vs NP (like with Ethan and his kidnapped daughter). I don't know what real applications the problem could have (unlike with the problem Ethan was working on) but maybe it was worth it to someone to have it solved and they were willing to kill for it. This would be why Charlie spent all that time in the garage working on it when she was dying. He wasn't trying to hide from his mother's sickness he was trying to save her.

(Or she could have been involved in something like the Centre and when she left and refused to return with Charlie they caused her to be sick.)

I can see him at his mom’s bedside toward the end falling apart because he just couldn’t solve it in time. “Mom, mommy I can’t solve it. I just can’t find the answer.” “Hush now baby boy. They didn’t mean for you to find the answer- this is my punishment not yours.”

How would Charlie go on? Would the organization come after him after she died or someone else from the family? Would Don and Alan find out what was really going on?

Any takers? Please this poor little bunny is a bit lonely.

Has anyone considered writing a fic that features a girl Charlie? I don't mean a gender bender where he's changed into a girl due to some freak accident. I mean a story where she was born a girl. Seriously, he'd make a pretty girl with all those curls and those big brown eyes and the nose, well I think that it would add character. I have a picture of her in my mind. I think she'd have really, really long curly hair that she keeps in a braid cause it's a pain otherwise. It's long because she can never remember to get a hair cut. (My description doesn't have to be used I just wanted to share it.)

How different would things be? I'm curious to see how the team (specifically Colby) would react to her. Especially if she still went by Charlie (or some other male sounding name) and he hadn't met her before. That would make a cute scene here he is expecting to met some guy math geek and instead here's this beautiful woman instead. And what about Edgerton? Would he react differently to her?

I think that overall everyone else would be the same. Larry would still be a guy and Amita a girl (maybe she could be like Charlie's first real girl friend). I do have some specific scenes that I've come up with that I can share if you'd like but otherwise you have free rein with this (quick warning though at least one of them is rather dark...).

This isn't required but I would love to see someone write this where Don and Charlie don't get along at all. I really like the Don character but I seem to focus more on the negative of human emotions and Don is the perfect outlet for this. I think that there's a lot of resentment there from childhood and even adulthood which keeps them from being friendly. They can work together and put up a good front for their dad but otherwise they don't have a lot to do with each other.

Anyway, I hope someone likes my bunny and wants to take it home.

Sorry for not being more specific but really this bunny can go in pretty much any direction. I'm just mainly hoping that someone will write a story that features Don and Charlie not knowing that they are brothers. In my original inquiry about this (on another site) I specified that they were lovers but they don't have to be. It could be just something like Don meets Charlie through a case, maybe he's called in as a consult. Maybe Charlie is a hostage in a situation that Don is there to defuse.

There were several ways that I thought this could come about. Alan and Margaret could have given Charlie up when they discovered how exceptional he was-or maybe the doctors could have misrepresented their findings and made them think that Charlie was severely Autistic and that it was really for the best if they admitted him to a permanent care facility.
Some organization or individual could have found out about him and decided that they wanted him so they set up an 'accident' which made Charlie think his family had died and vice versa. Again in my original inquiry about this I suggested that it could have been an organization like the Centre from the Pretender series.

Anyway this is a pretty flexible idea so I hope someone will adopt my poor little bunny.

I read so many fanfics that are Charlie and Don with Don being unsure at the start as Charlie is his brother and younger one at that. Charlie never seems to have moral problems with loving Don like that but Don always does. Charlie talks Don out of it.
I want to see a story where Charlie as usual only thinks of self and talks Don into it. He knows he loves Don and Don loves him so that is all that matters for him. But not for Don. Don is talked into it and then it haunts him and he regrets it. He feels weak and dirty and bad as it is wrong and illegal. He starts to suffer from all of this. His father and team notice as does Charlie. But no one knows what is wrong. Charlie only gets it after Megan repeats something Don said about deserving it.
Please can someone do? Charlie is always quite selfish in the stories with him and Don and I would like to see Don be pursuaded as he can't say no to his little brother but later suffer for the decision. And for Charlie to realize what he has done to his big brother. That he never saw anything break him as he was always strong and now sees that he managed what no one else could, what no criminals ever could. He broke Don.

They met while Charlie was doing work for the military and they were in a relationship together but broke up maybe over how Charlie always seemed to live two lives one as this miltary consultant who was very familiar with weapons vrs this professor who acted like he could not protect himself. The only one who knew about it was Charlie's mom. A close friend of Charlie's and Ian's is around and it all comes out.

There aren't a lot of fics out there with this pairing, but I'd love to see more Don and Edgerton fics.

Background: Don and Ian don't know each other. Although I like fics where they've met before, I just didn't really get that impression in Sniper Zero. So for this fic, their meeting at the top of the hill with Charlie would be their first meeting. Don has clearly heard of Edgerton before and you may say Ian has heard of Eppes, but no actual meeting has ever taken place.
Both Don and Ian are clearly alpha-males and I can easily see both of them being different as seen by the choices they made within the FBI. Don did Fugitive Recovery for a while and was clearly good at it, while Ian's sniper work is clearly also in the hunter area not to mention the man hunting he does with his tracking. They were both hunters at one point, the main difference being Ian did it before the criminal had been caught while Don did it if they escaped after being sentenced.
To me there's a definite spark between the two of them, though I would think that Don might hold back more initially simply because he is in the more vulnerable position due to the fact that his position provides him with much less room to maneuver than Edgerton's does. His co-workers stay the same and are always around not to mention that his family lives close by and knows a lot of what's going on in his life [before, when this wasn't the case, he would have acted as he did with Coop back in the day]. Edgerton doesn't really have to worry about any of these things and his superb reputation probably allows him more room to maneuver, especially since his current job lets him be different as he isn't a 'normal' FBI agent to begin with.

Fic: When they meet in Sniper Zero both Don and Ian are intrigued by the other and interested. They are drawn to the primal, dangerous edge each of them possesses though Don's has been tuned down due to the position he now holds, but Ian can still clearly detect it underneath Don's current professionalism (he can feel it frothing beneath the surface just waiting to be unleashed). Don, however, doesn't act on it for the above reasons while Ian definitely thinks of it and makes some overtures but doesn't push as he doesn't know Eppes well enough to know how he'll react.
When they meet again in Toxin, I can imagine Ian pushing a little more and realizing that Don is interested in him too. He is much better at reading people than the average person. But with Charlie being there the whole time with them, there is no good opportunity to act and Edgerton knows Don well enough at this point to know that to do anything near Charlie would not be a good idea despite the fact that he may really want to. Don, meanwhile, is still very interested and realizes that Ian is on to him. The overtures feel odd as he is used to the one doing the persuing instead of being persued. The only other time where dominance was so closely fought over with him was with Coop and they'd already had a well established work relationship to fall back on and knew each other much better.
By the time Spree rolls around, Edgerton is determined to make his move and it may well have been factored into his decision to call Don's team out to the scene of the robbery at the beginning of the episode [not that it wasn't also necessary but it did factor into it]. The fact that this case also forces Don to start crossing lines only adds to the tension that their encounter will have as it lets out Don's darker side and gives him more need of tension relief.
Any meeting of these two would result in a struggle for dominance but I think ultimately both would benefit from giving it up from time to time, especially now that they have learned that they can trust the other. And they know that the other understands them in a way even other FBI agents like David and Megan can't as they've seen the grittier, more dangerous and primal side of their work, namely the man hunting. The first time might have Don submitting simply due to the circumstances hitting him so hard, but after that he'd definitely fight to make Ian submit.
I'd really like to see something lasting come out of it, but I could see it go the other way too. More of a 'when you're in town' type of relationship.

Please, please let this inspire at least one person??? Pretty please???

Okay, I'm a huge Don/Billy fan and read every single fic of this pairing that I can find. reading all of these fics has given me an idea that I really would like to see done and I'm hoping that I can inspire one or more of the writers on this comm to turn it into a reality!!!!

Anyway, here's the deal:
The background: Don and Billy were together during their time in Fugitive Recovery but than something came up and thus Don took the position in New Mexico [perhaps Don felt it wouldn't work out in the long run/Don had the family pressure to be more 'available'/whatever...] but Billy had said that he would always be there if Don needed him. Which is why he showed up when David, a member of Don's team, requested a member of Fugitive Recovery in Man Hunt.

The actual story: spending time with Coop again makes Don revaluate his earlier choice and decides that he doesn't get it anymore/decides that it wasn't worth it/decides that it is no longer valid and he really asks Billy to stay with him [ie, not like he did at the end of Man Hunt] and Billy accepts.
Now we all saw how Alan really didn't like Coop during the episode and I want to see him as well as Charlie having to come to terms with the new situation. Especially because Don, in typical Don Eppes fashion, never told the two of them that he's bi, much less ever had a serious boyfriend. I guess he'd try to break that news to them first [over dinner? a night at home?] before telling them about Billy and how he's staying and moving in with Don, but that quickly comes out too.
As far as Alan is concerned, I would expect him to be against it pretty adamently at first until he starts to see just how good Coop actually is for Don. Perhaps he sees Don's more relaxed/smiles & laughs more... or he sees Don being able to finally break down as he trusts Billy so much [if so, I'd expect Alan to be somewhere where he's no expected and Don and Coop think they're alone or Don would never show such weakness]. Basically Alan doesn't 'accept' the relationship until he gets real proof of how good it really is for his eldest and then he's forced to realize that it really is what Don needs despite his wishes and dreams for him.
I guess Charlie would also have to come to terms with all this new information on his brother [I don't see him as being bi or gay too in this fic, for the simple reason that it is... uh... statistically unlikely that they've both been hidding the same secret not to mention the fact that it would increase the angst factor if Charlie has to struggle to come to terms with this unexpected side to his big brother and the fact that Don keeps so many secrets from his family when he (Charlie) doesn't do the same].

Hmm... can you tell that ideas spring quite quickly and elaborately in my mind? It's very easy for me to come up with them but I can't for the life of me write them!!!!!

I have been nosing my way round this fandom and seen more than one person in the same situation as meself. Namely people who come up with ficy ideas but completely unable to write them.

So.......

I decided what Numb3rs needed was a place where people needed was a place where those people could post their ideas and where authors in need of inspiration or ideas could come together nad hopefully have an end result of more ficies. Surely that's not a bad thing??????

Here is how it will work

1. anyone can post ideas they have to the list but NO MORE that ONE idea per post!!!! This way authors can say that they will take a bunny or anyone can list fics that match the criteria without any confusion
2. anyone is free to take any bunny but please MENTION that you have done so in a response to the original post so that people can find the fic!!!!
