About
Welcome to [info]bunny_stew, a writing prompt community dedicated to supporting writers of all genres and levels of skill. Whether you're battling block or just want an easy idea source, we're glad to have you. Everyone is welcome to join.

(Please be sure to add [info]bunny_stew to your friends-list when you join [see "to join this community, click here" up above], otherwise you won't see prompts, stories, and updates.)

How it works:

Weekly Prompts:
* Every Wednesday, a new set of ideas will be posted. These will come from various sources.

* Pick and choose from the prompts as you please. Feel free to mix and match! Get creative!

* "What if a story turns into something totally unrelated to the original prompt?" No problem. If this happens--great! The entire point of the community is to inspire you, even (and especially) if the story doesn't resemble the prompt it came from. It means your Muse is doing her job. ;)

* You'll have one week (Wednesday to Tuesday) to initially post your story.

* "What if I don't finish my story in time?" or "What if I get stuck? Can I still post?" Of course, you can post your partially completed story. If you need help, feel free to ask.

* You can post as many stories as you want during the week inspired by that week's prompts.

Writing Warm-Ups:
* A couple times a week, not including the regular weekly post, instant writing prompts will be posted. They will run from timed writing to actual exercises focusing on specific writing skills.

* You are not required to post what the warm-ups inspire, though you're certainly welcome to if you want. Please post in comments for that specific prompt if you choose to share.

Critiquing:
*We do allow critiquing in the community. However, there are a few rules which must be followed:

*Stories must be posted with this subject line format: For Critique: Story Title

*Stories must be inspired in some way by weekly prompts given in the last four weeks and the specific prompt(s) used must be stated in the post along with word count. Some form of the story (whole or partial) should have been posted during the initial week the prompt(s) were posted.

*Stories can not exceed 6,000 words.

*Posting for critiques and giving critiques is strictly voluntary. Members do not have to post critiques or give critiques.

*Critiquing should be done on the story not on the author. Moderators reserve the right to warn and/or ban members who cross this line depending on severity of offense.

General rules:

* Please post your story/freewrite/etc. under friends-lock; this is to protect your first rights.

* Please use your story title in the subject line.

* Please use a LJ-cut when posting your work, with both story title, word-count, and warning (if applicable) in the cut text. (How do I use an LJ-cut?")

* Please tag your stories with your LiveJournal username. While not required, it will help you find a previously posted story should the need arise. If posting a story for critique, please tag it with "critique". This will allow members to find them easier.

* We welcome stories of all genres. However, for reasons of legality regarding minors, erotica cannot be posted in this community. Stories that have erotic overtones and/or non-explicit sexual encounters are permitted. If your story has these elements or is horrific in nature, you must post a warning in the cut text. We have members that may or may not be comfortable with such content; it's only courteous to forewarn them, so they don't end up reading something they find disturbing.

* We encourage you to read and comment on other people's stories; that said, we recognise that most peoples' time is limited, and it's not a requirement. However, if someone comments on one of your stories, though, it's only polite to return the favor.

* Flaming will not be tolerated. General comments should be supportive in nature; if someone asks for critique, feel free to give it. Destructive commentary will be met with a warning; if the member persists in said behavior afterwards, they will be banned.

* Plagiarism, also, is a bannable offense.

* We like our members to be active, but we realise that life and other writing (*cough*novels*cough*) can interfere. Please keep us updated in the Status Reports. After six months with no posted stories or warm-ups, we'll ask you if you still want to be a member of the community. At nine months, we may remove you.
