Status Report
So...no one is in much of a story mood lately, I see?

Have you started some and just not had a chance to finish?

For this week -- I'd like everyone to post a small section from whatever they're working on whether or not it's from a prompt posted here. It can be a paragraph, it can be a couple of sentences, or it can be a page or two. Whatever you're comfortable with.

I'm nosy and would like to see what everyone's working on!

Not to mention, it might give me an idea for future prompts which might be of more use for you all. :-)

Also, if I changed up the community to do more than just prompts and writing exercises would this interest you -- or have you flying away as fast as your finger could press the little leave group link?

(Never fear, the weekly prompts will be forthcoming.)

Weekly Prompts
First, the bi-weeklyish reminder of posting:
Please put the title of the story in the subject line of the post.
Please post under friends lock to keep any first publication rights problems questions from popping up.
Post should include: story title, word count, genre, and any warnings (see community info page for what is and is not acceptable to post here) it might need.
Please place the story behind an lj-cut. See here for help with that.
Last, but not least, please tag post with your lj name.

There are three sets of prompts below. Pick and choose among any of them, mix and match among the sets or within the sets, basically do whatever strikes your attention and gets a story flowing. :)

Warm up
Current Week's prompts here

Don't forget, if you're ever stuck feel free to go back and look over the older warm ups. You can always post to them. :)

Today's warm up is more like a stretching exercise. Take this bland sentence:

It started to snow.

and expand it into a paragraph which shows us instead of tells us that it's snowing. Feel free to toss in a character if you'd like just try and keep the paragraph to under 150 words.

There's no time limit or anything. In fact, this is a good exercise for getting into a character's pov or just to explore the world a bit. If you're feeling adventuresome, try writing in a genre or voice you're unfamiliar with. :)

Please remember: post responses to warm ups in comments. Don't start a new post for them. Thanks.

Pick one of the lines below to use in a 5 minute free write. The sentence can be anywhere in the piece: beginning, middle, or ending.

- I won't let him do it.

- The last bus has gone.

- Why won't he listen?

- It's stuck.

- The blood is everywhere.

Return of the Bunny
This Community has been very quiet as commitments have kept us all busy elsewhere. However, I'm glad to announce that we will be starting up again January 1st.

There have been a few changes made to the community. A few things we've done away with. Something we've added in. But, at its heart, this community is here to provide you with writing prompts and that hasn't changed.

The new information is up on the Info Page but, for those still watching this community I've copied & pasted the main portion of it below the cut for you:

The New Bunny Stew )

Please check out the community info page in its entirety to refresh your memory on the more general rules we have here. :-)

I will be cleaning up the tags, leaving only those who are currently members listed. We will add tags for new members as they join.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or leave them in a comment on this post.
