Insight Sand Perch for budgies - yay or nay?

I know that sandpaper covers are a huge no-no, but what kind of nail-trimming perches are considered safe? I'd like to give my budgies the option of having one in the cage, and I want to make sure that whatever I give them won't hurt them.

concrete perches they dull nails the same way walking a dog on cement would. it's not as abrasive as sand perches are, which resemble sand paper.

Concrete and mineral block perches are good for that, but they won't generally replace nail trimming. Make sure that it is not the highest perch in the cage, so it won't be used constantly and abrade their feet.

Oh yeah, I figure I'll have to nail trim eventually. I'd just like to make it as infrequent as possible, both for my sake and the birds' sakes.

I'll see if I can find a good, small concrete perch for them. It'd pretty much have to go low in the cage because the top is fairly full with toys, the boing, and natural wood perches. :D

Sandpaper covers can be applied upside-down on wide perches (such that the food pads are not in maximum contact with sandpaper where seams of the covers are open).
