So last Thursday we went to the 2nd Hemel Goth Night and had a very good time!

It was a cool, very small, old school goth night. There were about 20 people there (it is a small venue so it was nice) and everyone knew everyone and it was nice and relaxed, a very local crowd who were happy to chat.

We had a lot of fun and will definitely be going again.

£2 entry and most drinks £2.

Out of interest, who is reading this community nowadays? Are there enough to suggest an (ir)regular pub meet?

A new Goth Night has been launched at The Venue in Hemel Old Town running on a fortnightly basis (opposite weeks is Rock Night).

We plan to go along this week to check it out and will report back :D

Ok, so I'm new here and I'm not a Goth. Well I appreciate Goth music (Lacuna Coil is one example) and I'm keen to find out about more good goth bands. I certainly have a more eclectic taste in music than that though and I definitely don't dress in black most of the time, though I do find goth styles to be very cool (especially women's outfits). However, the group looked interesting and seeing as I'm a local to MK and a livejournal user, I figured I'd sign up and say hi. Also, I have a hobby that might interest some of you. I like to occasionally take part in Vampire Live Action Roleplaying. I don't know whether any of you are aware of this hobby or have tried it in the past, but MK has one game currently set in the Victorian era and is soon to have another set in modern nights. It might be something some of you would be interested in giving a try.

Anyway, that's me, feel free to check out my lj or just pop by and say hi.

Sorry guys, that was a really rubbish attempt of mine to organise a
piss up in a brewery!

Unfortunately I've been a bit pre-occupied with stuff since my post
and to be honest wasn't really expecting that much interest!

Crap apology over now, normal service will soon resume :)

Anyhoo, shall we try and organise something for next Thursday
instead? I don't mind travelling to High Wycombe and I live in
Aylesbury so that would be ok too although Aylesbury is a bit crap
these days. MK is a bit far but I could be persuaded if there's a
few people going...

The weekly pub meets seem to have petered out somewhat, and today this is much discussion on my friends list of pub quizzes, and it has occurred to me that I like pub quizzes and miss doing them. So, would anyone fancy tracking down a local pub quiz and making a semi-regular thing of it?

Twice in a week, don't know what's got into me!

Anyway, I just thought I mention that the re-enactment group which gawain69 and I are part of is doing a local show this weekend. We're part of the Lion Rampant, which is a medieval display group. There will be singing, dancing and fighting, an archery competition and a 'script' too! We're at Chiltern Open Air Museum, in Chalfont, on Saturday and Sunday. The show runs from 10am to 5pm each day.

Hi everyone,

As you may or may not know it is coming up to my birthday, and due to Natasha having to work on the actual weekend I'll be having a gathering the previous friday.
i.e. next Friday. i.e. the 21st May.
If anyone would like to come along, we'll be aiming to go to the Electric Ballroom where I have been informed that they are moving away from trance and more towards metal.

It's a Friday Night, so unless you have a 6am Saturday shift to go to you have no excuse! If you have children that need looking after then bully friends / relatives etc.

I have crash space for one or two bodies if need be, but at most I can only sleep 4.

If I think of anything else to add I'll let you know.

Final note: Sorry if you get this more than once, I've put a very similar message lots of places, including email just to make sure everyone knows.

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone could help me? you see I'm looking for a place to live so if anyone knows anyone that has a room going around Hemel Hempstead, Tring and Berko area could they please e-mail me (Email addy on my user info in my LJ http://www.livejournal.com/users/vampire_hawk/). As I have been sleeping on my mum's front room floor for the past 3 months :-( I have a job and can get a reference from my last letting agent that I was with for 2 years. I'm clean, tidy, not afraid of house work (I look good with marigolds on :-P) and I can cook so the odd house meals will be cooked by myself and I'm not talking about microwave meals :-P.
