It's been three years, Mysti. I still haven't forgotten about you. I doubt I ever will. Sometimes I can still feel your soft, fuzzy head under my hands.
We miss you lots.

Tour de France - SBS |
] |
10:16pm: I should head to bed soon because Mum rang me up early this morning, which was bad because I stayed up late to watch the Tour De France. Add that to the fact that Mum and Dad are getting us super early (like 5:30am tomorrow) so we get to the Parish Bus, which is leaving at 7am in time.
Although the Tour de France is on again, so I'll watch a little bit of that...because who can resist the bicycles?
Anywho, good news, my father is coming after all, and word on the street is that despite being allocated seats, everyone's just sitting wherever, so we 'll probably all allowed to sit together anyway! Yay! :OD
Although things got rather annoying when Mum called me up to tell me that Dad gave away all his extra tickets and the only way I'd be able to ge in was to go via Dad's boss's house and pick up the three he had left.
Unfortunately Dad's boss lives out past Ryde a good 50 minutes out of my way! But either I went or Dad did, and I felt bad about making him do that, so off I went. It actually wasn't that bad, but still, the petrol I tells ya!
I'm still working on Chapter 52 of my fic, I'm a bit worried I'm repeating myself (I know I've said that before, heh), although as I mentioned in yesterday's entry I still have my readership.
( Anywho, Memes, please! )
Uh-oh, almost 11 o'clock, looks like I'm gonna have to live on 5 or 6 hours sleep tomorrow. I certainly can't manage on any less so I'm gonna turn in now.
Goodnight to everyone!

So I'm up and ready for the McFly pre-sale. I'm so worried I won't get good seats for Liverpool. Ahhh. I was semi-planning on going to Brum too, since I'm working the same night as Manchester. I want to go to more than one! And the Brum one is like two weeks before Liverpool.. I'm so happy the ones I'm able to go to are seated too, because I'm not all that kean on the pushing to get close to the stage.
Anyway. They go on sale at 11:00. I have my code on my clip board (you know, my virtual one to paste as fast as possible XD) and my debit card in front of me~
Come on front row~! >:/
15 minutes... Nervous~ XD;;
EDIT: Never fucking use gigsandtours.com! I had fucking THIRD ROW CENTRE. I entered my card details. It told me if I click OK I WILL be charged and get a confirmation email. I clicked, and the next page fucking timed out. I never got an email. SO UPSET. ;_; So I've been trying for the last 50 minutes to get good seats and the site wasn't working because the server is busy. NO SHIT, IT'S MCFLY. I eventually got through and I now have 5th row on Dougie's side (block C). Ugghhh. It's only two rows different I guess. Fucking shitty site. Might try ticketmaster tomorrow morning see if they have anything better. Grr. I suppose I'm lucky I got tickets at all. The site's still not working right.
Maybe listening to JRoss will make me happy D: Ooh~ he just played Do Ya!

But not the one with Rift!Doc and Mistral. Sorry. I'll start on that tomorrow.
Way back when I was talking about the Watcher in "Logopolis" and saying that he could be the part of the Doctor that was in love with AL. I finally decided to write that out. Watching...and Waiting is that story.
I was almost finished so I didn't want to sleep 'til it was done. Now it's done. Yay. *thud*

MGS4 |
] |
So I was stuck in MGS4 but I got past it. ( But now... (spoilers) )
Anyway, none of this really matters and I'll probably get past this part relatively easily and then forget about my frustration tomorrow when I post about something else minor that is driving me crazy.
I do of course still love the game. I think it's telling though that I have been having urges to play previous installments rather than 4 despite my great interest in the story line.
I think it's mostly the boss battles that get to me because I am not too great at fighting anything.
Uhhh, I drew a Sweeney! Loosely based on George Hearn's Sweeney.

It saddens me that so many people don't know that Sweeney Todd existed before the movie. :(
EDIT Okay, I wasn't charging up or aiming properly the first and second times, but I got past it pretty easily just like I said I would. I am disappointed at the lack of a subsequent cut scene of the duel though!

But first, let's start with the trailers:
- LOL TWILIGHT. WTF. This extended trailer is even WORSE than the first one. It hypes up the story as being FAR more exciting and action packed than it is. And the acting, sweet jesus. I look forward to seeing this shit at some matinee showing once it's moved to the cheaper theater here so I can have my lolz.
+ AAAAAAHH WATCHMEN!! HOLY SHIIIIIT!! Yeah, I watched the trailer like a bajillion times online the other day, but zomg big screen!! It was glorious. I had to stop right before Chapter IV last night because I could NOT keep my eyes open, but I SO wanted to keep reading. AND THEN I come home from this glorious day of fun, and Entertainment Weekly has made up for last week's loltastic cover with, you guessed it. :D
ON TO THE MAIN EVENT: I loved it. I absolutely loved it. I loved the Joker, in the sense that Heath Ledger was BEYOND amazing AND DESERVES EVERY BIT OF HYPE. SO FUCK YOU IF YOU THINK IT'S JUST BECAUSE HE'S DEAD. SUCK MY BALLS. As someone on my f'list said, that WAS the Joker, not just an actor in face paint. Harvey was magnificently tragic. And not to ruin too much for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but I officially have a HUGE fangirl crush on Jim Gordon. I was telling a friend a few days ago that after watching Batman Begins again, I wasn't sure if I had a sudden boner for Gary Oldman or Gordon, but now I know where exactly my heart lies. (Not that I don't love the crap out of Gary Oldman for being amazing, but I'm distinguishing between him and his character).
I need to see this like.... a million more times. I want to cry for joy with how good it was.
And yes, Catherine and Starr are, of course, the bestest friends. We go to the theater kind of early after lunch at IHOP, so we poked around Ross. I got a skirt! It's pretty, and black with white embroidery on the bottom. For 6.99, I wasn't going to NOT get it. And after The Best Movie Ever we went to Johnny Rockets for din din. I thought I was starving but a few onion rings and about half of my burger I felt like I would puke if I ate more. Weird.
AHHHHHHHHHH!! I'M TOO EXCITED FOR EVERYTHING!! OH, WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE! WHAT A TIME TO BE A FANGIRL!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAH!!!
:D

so part of a the porn-ish part that is to come in the Happy Days fic.
“Fonz,” Richie murmurs in surprise. He feels his Adam’s apple bob against Fonzie’s lips. “You’ve done this before.”
“This? Naw. But I figure, it don’t got to be the same model to be driven the same way.”
“Oh--oh…” Richie becomes aware--half-aware, really-- without any ready-made response that he can remember, that Fonzie’s hand has most definitely gone down the front of his pants. “Y-yeah? You ought to…” His fingers clutch at Fonzie’s back, and is words come out breathless and rushed just so he can get them all out, “put that on the bathroom wall or something.”

Yeah, not much to say beyond that. I didn't sleep very well last night, so I'm not entirely awake now. Very hot and humid today. You know it's so when you agree to go grocery shopping with your mom just to spend some time in the air conditioning. (Work was hell, yes.)
Got a page on "Corpse Mask," at least. Yay for not entirely stopped productivity. Rift is kinda dead at the moment, though Doc's got a movie night with JD upcoming. Ahh, more awkward, just what he needs.

I changed my first flat tire. Ugh. I got tired because I hadn't had any food. The tire was rusted on...took like 45 minutes. Our food was cooling in the car LOL. We had mexican take out. The chicken was good, beef, no. But yea I changed a tire and my hands were filfthy and my hair was crazy.
I'm celebrating with lemonade, and tiredness from chowing mexican.

written in a state of dilerium during my illness- I had something great to write about you but I forgot it. When I look in the mirror I see a skeleton (until I pan down to my waist) Red circles, pale cheekbones, and empty eye sockets I told myself how mad I’d get when I’d dump orange juice in the washing machine and drink the soap, mixing up my left from right and my right from wrong, I was going to punish myself, real bad. It was going to be such a huge mistake, staining my whites and poisoning my body, I would’ve learned my lesson for good this time, But then I drank my juice and washed my clothes, and I haven’t learned anything.

| say no to strep |
[18 Jul 2008|04:13pm] |
Last year, at about this time, I had strep and it almost killed me. The whole time I was in Colombia I was either drugged into a complete fog or bleeding profusely from my gums. I couldn't be comfortably social, so I was mostly silent, and thus fear I was disliked. As much as I love Don, I don't want him to be my mouthpiece, because I'm ME, dammit, and spending a whole week in a new country with new people and having to listen to Don speak for me while I winced in pain and attempted to keep mucusy blood inside my mouth without vomiting was less than fun. It was still fun, which is saying a lot for Colombia, but it still sucked. I wasn't able to eat nearly enough of the food, although the river trout and the pretty astounding chicken-rice-yam-egg inside of a leaf meal were edible for me, but I now have a rather extensive knowledge of what to eat in Colombia if you only like semi-solid or flat-out liquidy foods. I can point you to the best beverages (hint: coffee. Also, mandarin orange juice, holyshitdelicious).
My point is, I caught some kind of sickness bug earlier this week and was pretty convinced that the strep symptoms were sneaking up on me as well. With memories of last year lurking in my head and haunting my dreams of a fun weekend out seeing The Dark Knight four-to-six times, I went to Kaiser to get a "just in case" throat swab. My experience at Kaiser this morning was harrowing, to say the least. It's worthy of its own entry but for now let's go with "incompetent with a computer" and "tenacious Vietnamese woman." Yeah.
They just called to let me know that, nope, I'm strep free. Good to go. I did get a nifty throat numbing gel out of the ordeal, which is good for me as I have a tendency to get sore throats from, oh, let's just say screaming personal information as well as my political and cinematic opinions at the top of my lungs while at Zeitgeist with Ian last night (this is all hypothetical, of course), and then my throat is all rough and gross and uncomfortable. I also managed to obtain some Tylenol-3, which is moderately thrilling, as everyone I've ever known in the field of prescription medication abuse (so many more than you might think) has told me that, hey, codeine is the way to go.
So, recap. No strep. Cool throat-numbing stuff. Codeine-laden painkillers. Win-win, right? But not, because I'm miserable thinking of how much better life would have been had THIS been my medical situation last year. I'd trade a bloody-gums screening of The Dark Knight for a painkiller-swollen-throat-bloody-pillow-free time in Colombia in a HEARTBEAT.
Damn, I need to go back to that country. Maybe dinner with Gisela on Monday will hold me over until I can possibly conceive of and plan another trip down down down to the "other" America.
And that's my "should be working" rant for today.
