I was shocked to discover with all the Big Bang challenges out there that there wasn't one for Battlestar Galactica. When I discovered this, I set out to correct that injustice, and came up with BSG Big Bang.
The objective: write a piece of fiction that is at least twenty thousand words, set in the Battlestar Galactica universe. It can be any kind of plot, any (or no) pairing. Gen, het, slash, it doesn't matter. Once your piece of fiction is complete, you'll be matched with an artist or vidder who will take your story and produce art for it. The end result is what many people are looking for: longer fan fiction stories set in the BSG universe!

The Schedule
5/13/09: All signups (Author/Artist/Beta/Cheerleader) open and continue until 6/14/09 when Author/Beta/Cheerleader signups close.
6/14/09: Author/Beta/Cheerleader signups close.
6/17/09: Betas and Cheerleaders will be matched up and assigned to Authors.
7/21/09: Midpoint of writing period; to be on schedule, you should have at least 10,000 words by then
9/20/09: Artist signups close.
9/23/09: Authors will be matched up and assigned to Artists.
10/1/09: Rough draft of stories due to Artists and assigned Beta.
10/18/09: Beta editors should have returned the beta'd version of the story to the Authors by now.
10/31/09: Authors and Artists should submit their completed story and art to the mods in preparation for posting.
11/4/09: Posting begins.
