This community is for fan discussion and chatter about the Battlestar Galactica miniseries on SciFi Channel, and the new BSG series which began airing on SkyOne in the UK starting during fall 2004 and on SciFi in the US during January 2005.
We have the following rules. Read them, obey them, and the happy friendly moderators will not have to turn into the bitchy smack-down moderators of doom.
Yes, we're serious. We am not going to put up with trolls and flamewars in this community.
That said, Each individual moderator does not read every single comment in every single post in this community. The original community maintainer had hoped that people would be mature enough that she wouldn't need to constantly watch like a hawk to keep everyone civil to each other and members of the cast and crew of the show. If you see something in the community posts or comments which you strongly feel goes against the community rules, simply email the community maintainers to bring it to our attention and we will look into the matter and take appropriate action.
The rules:
0. Always place clear spoiler warnings on your posts, and put spoilers behind an LJ-cut. Including the episode title or number helps fans who haven't seen the latest episodes to tell whether or not you're discussing an episode which is old to you but unaired yet for them.
For those who do not know, "spoilers" are details which give away the plot of an episode or a movie. For instance, "spoiling" someone would be like telling a person who has never seen any of the Star Wars movies all the secrets about Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Amidala, Anakin, Luke and Leia that are revealed in the movies before the person's even seen Star Wars: A New Hope. It's just not cool to blab all of the plot twists and secrets before the person's had the opportunity to watch the show for themselves.
With the new series airing in the UK well before the US, and other countries on their own schedules, and with some fans being spoiler-adverse and other fans spoiler-addicted, it's only polite to try to be tolerant of such differences.
1. No personal attacks or flaming of other fans. Ever.
2. No personal attacks or insults about the actors, directors, or other official folks involved in the show. Ever.
3. No derogatory language about anyone's sexual orientation or gender. Ever.
4. Your favorite character or pairing is no more sanctified than anyone else's. We are each entitled to our own opinions. We are a het, slash, and gen friendly community.
Yes, this means that this community includes adult content. If you are underaged, please go elsewhere for a few years, or ask your parents before joining or lurking here.
5. If you are posting images, do not hotlink to sites not your own. Do not steal bandwidth. If you do not understand what bandwidth stealing is, contact the maintainers of this community before posting.
6. This community is for posting information about the BSG2003 series airtimes, previous versions of BSG or comparisions with the BSG2003 remake, and other projects by the actors or other official types involved in the series. This is intended to be a tolerant place for fans to share their enthusiasm for the miniseries. If you do not like the series at all, please go elsewhere.
