| Baby Sitter's Little Sister #69- Karen's Sister |
[May. 22nd, 2008|05:36 pm] |
I know I said I was going to snark Kristy's Big Day (and I will), but I read this Little Sister book last night and it just screamed "Snark me!" So I did. :D

| BSC #45: Kristy and the Baby Parade (Chapters 1-5) |
[May. 12th, 2008|12:44 pm] |
Hello all! I’m back with my second snark. If you read my first snark, Stacey vs. Claudia, *cough*shamelessplug!*cough* you might know that I love a good BSC fight. So, upon finding my copy of KATBP, (strewn on the floor behind my bookcase, whoops!) I decided this would be the perfect book to snark. It’s full of BSC fights, and as a wonderful bonus, we get to see the BSC actually fail at something. I know, it only happens once every 79 books or so, so this is something pretty special. Ready? Let’s go! Warning: this might get a little wordy. As always, we’ll start with the (original) cover.

| Super Special #5, California Girls! Chapters 1-8 |
[May. 9th, 2008|02:11 pm] |
I'm pretty sure this one hasn't been done yet. It's very snark-worthy, so here you go!

Nice cover. Some of those bathing suits aren't very flattering. Stacey looks like, if she went to a spa, they would tell her to work on her "problem areas." Mallory, on the other hand, looks pretty good for an awkward eleven-year-old.
( They wish they all could be ... )

| SS #7, Fin |
[Apr. 7th, 2008|07:58 am] |
Last time on SS #7, nobody believed it could snow, but it did. Everybody ignored the warning signs and drove somewhere and got stranded there. Dawn is stuck at the airport with her mom while Jeff is stuck in Washington DC. Bart is stuck at Kristy’s house and she’s afraid he’ll see her in her pjs! Mary Anne and Mal are at the Pikes, while the breeders are stuck in NYC and there’s not much food left! Claudia is stuck at the Perkins while the parents are stuck at a friends’ house and Chewy is missing! Jessi is stuck at the dance studio with a bunch of kids and her boyfriend from NYC.
( And then the writing sort of fell disinegrated and they finished it all in a rush. ) |

| BSC #129, Kristy at Bat |
[Apr. 7th, 2008|06:45 am] |
Kristy's last BSC book ever. Even though I tend to hate the sports books, this one manages to pass the time. It's not my favorite, but I like it better than Kristy and the Walking Disaster. Sorry, no cover. For what it's worth, you're not missing much. It's just a straightforward picture of Kristy in a baseball uniform, holding a bat.

| BSC #62, Kristy and the Worst Kid Ever |
[Apr. 5th, 2008|02:16 pm] |
No, this book isn't about Karen. It's a BSC foray into social issues, and this one tackles foster care and psychological problems. All in all, not a bad book, although pretty shamelessly borrows from the Great Gilly Hopkins, one of my all time favorite books. The only thing it's missing is that this particular foster kid doesn't write Jessi racist letters and jokes, and I'm pretty sure that's only because AMM and the Ghosties couldn't think of one clean enough for the target audience. Anyway, let's dive in. |

| SS #7, "Snowbound" Prologue-Chapter 2 |
[Feb. 24th, 2008|09:34 pm] |
It all started when nobody in Stoneybrook knew how to a) forecast the weather, b) watch the weather, c) stay close to home when a snowstorm was in the forecast no matter how inaccurate previous forecasts had been.
