HI, some of you know me already some of you don't. I live in Brythony Caer Llyr on the plot with the really big tree.
Just thought I'd say hello to everyone. Super excited about the new island and can't wait to see what Brigid plans for it once it's in the right spot. Was a bit of surprise seeing it out my back door so to speak.
Anyone have any plans for Secondlife for the Solstice?

From time to time as things come up I like to just take that as an opportunity to answer questions and make things clear.
For instance Faerie Magazine and their presence on Brythony Isle in Second Life. NO ONE from the Faerie Magazine Real Life staff has ever set foot in there - which is a shame they deserve to play from time to time! However they are just way to busy. The only people you will see in SL that have any affiliation with FM are Brambleberry Woodget and myself. Bram writes and edits for them - and I do various things to help out the mag a bit in what small capacity I can - as they are wonderful people and dear friends who work very very very hard.
Bram also has plans for an in world SL edition of the mag - I plan to help him.
So just to clarify - seems like some folks had the idea that maybe the FM staff was just sittin' around eating bon bons, drinking cocktails and goofing off in SL. That would be ME .......not them.
CHEERS!

If you read my last post you know that there have been major changes at Brythony - I am very pleased to say it has been all for the better. Residential land has been selling steadily - shops are renting at a fast pace and traffic has increased significantly. The best part? Looks like she is finally paying for herself! What does this mean? It means the $600.00 USD it takes a month to run Brythony will no longer come out of my pocket but rather is paid now in FULL by the monthly rents combined from residential and commercial land owners. And this was done while still keeping rents and fees very low and very competitive to the SL market. I am so happy folks! YAY!!!
Additionally the cosmetic changes to Brythony have been a huge hit as well. We have made the market smaller but more efficient - it is now directly at the base of the Castle. The castle now hosts a gallery/art store on her previously bare walls. This is now where the ever popular Amy Brown and Jessica Galbreth are featured. Yes you can buy their art in SL! The castle gallery will also feature smaller displays of many of our Brythony Artists in Residence. These are artists that have full size booths in the Brythony Market place. Deborah Grieves, Mary Layton, Ash Evans, Jasmine Becket-Griffith, Candace Bell, Giovanna Adams, Jane Starr Weils, Mythical Masks, and Fancy Fairy (and if I forgot anyone let me know asap and I will edit this post -ya'll know how forgetful I am!) And last but not least the market now has an amazing map with landmarks to all the fabulous spots in Brythony.
The rest of Brythony is now a little more explorer friendly - there is simply more to DO. We have an enchanted fantasy forest - with waterfall winding paths and amazing trees - perfect for exploring and hanging out. The Faery Magazine In world office is now in the forest and is in a new building and just as magickal and enchanting as a Faery Magazine office should be!
Take one route of the path and you will wind up at The Wolves Den - our amazing Celtic inspired Pub - complete with Bar, piano, Irish dancing, Sitting areas and an upstairs game room with darts, pool and a nasty Irish Pub Potty. LOL (sorry folks there is a 4th grade boy that lives inside me and his childish sense of humor just cannot be denied)
Take another route of the path and you will be directed to Purrsnicketys Crystal Cave and Mountain. This is our tinies haven and is inspired and based on the work of artist Ash Evans, creator of the Purrsnicketys which are soon to be the hottest new tinies line of avatars in SL ya'll!!!
The interior of the mountain is three levels of tiny heaven, trees and houses and rental shops, a tinies pub and recreation area complete with fairy mushroom ring and swings and slided and a hot tub!! Yay!!!
At the top of the mountain are some rental dragon caves (easy access from there to tinies for snacking) and at the very very top above that is the stonehenge and drum circle.
Glancing across the mountain range (and yes you can ski it - buy some skis) you will see our rental airships - cheap and fun way to have a home in SL.
So it was Waaaaayyyyyy to much like work to add all the photos to this entry

Hey all! Faerie magazine has ads for artists at just $180.00!!! Just wanted to let everyone know this is a great price! This upcoming issue will be at FaerieCon - the issue will also feature the article about Brythony. Also advertising in FM is a great idea because they do all kinds of shows and bring all the issues of the magazine to all the shows. So even if you can only afford an ad in one issue it is still a great advertising deal as the back issues get a lot of traffic too. So go for it!

You can now watch me or my friend Dag live in SL as we build and explore the Brythony Isle.
I am working on adding a way to watch me paint live to either on your computer or actually in SL at my inworld studio! damn I love technology.

I now have an email to im relayer for SL - this means if I am offline (or appear to be - mwhahaha) you can still feel confident in IM-ing me your questions. I will be able to reply from my email to you directly. Voila - how wonderful is technology?
Also I wanted to point something out - I am inworld just about everyday - and often for hours upon hours - just because it looks like I am not - doesn't mean I am not - I just mention because a couple of folks asked me where I had been lately - thinking I hadn't been around much. Rest assured I take very good care of Brythony and I am always hard at work. Just in the interest of getting anything done I sometimes have to ahem - hide. :) So I just wanted to address this to ease any fears that I am slacking off and getting tired of this whole thing - not at all - quite the opposite!

The New Shops at Brythony are now up. I wanted to take a moment to announce a price change.
I am lowering the rates at Brythony.
Full two story booths $15.00
Bottom floor only $10.00
Top floor only $5.00
Tents $5.00
I will only be able to keep these low rates up if we can get full occupancy at Brythony. If that is done then the rent from the market isle will just barely cover my $300.00 a month rent and upkeep costs. So pass the word. For $5-15 a month you can get what you can consider:
- a 24 hour a day advertisement to an international audience
- inexpensive website of sorts
- marketing and networking tool
- fun place to hang out
- interactive forum
Again if you want to join us and don't know how we are happy to help. We can set it up for you.
To that end I am compiling a list of graphics savvy folks who might be interested in offering set up services to other artists - I can barely keep up with the demand and I need help! I have been charging one time set up fees of $50.00 - so if you have the abilities and want to help out please speak up - the fee is all yours! I am just happy to have help.
I also want to reiterate to the community that Brythony is here for YOU. It really is a co-op. Renee Biertempfel and I envisioned it as a community first - with each artist responsible for the success of their own shop on the isle. While at the same time with each artist benefiting from community support and our overall marketing efforts for the isle as a whole.
So what I am saying is that this community is what you want to make it. I charge rent for the booths - but only to cover costs. Got ideas? We wanna hear them - Brythony is what WE - what YOU - make of it.
Cheers!

The rental homes are now up and available for rent. Go rent one via the rental box in world, it should (crosses fingers) work automatically - if the one you want is rented never fear just tell me and I will put up another for you. I haven't even begun to fill us up with houses yet! There is plenty of room. CLick on rental boxes for a notecard with Rental info.
Tomorrow I am putting up the rental shops. These will not have rental boxes. They will be rented via direct communication with me. I will post to all our various blogs and groups and lists and whatnot when they are up. So please keep yourself tuned into one of those we have a big list of interested folks and it is easiest for me to communicate via the lists rather then individiually at this time.
Hugs!

Yeah!!!!! Our new Second Life Island was delivered. Dag and I have been hard at work all day getting it nice and ready. The New Isle is attached to the other Brythony Isle and is residential only. It will have lots of different housing options. From $5 - $10 - $20 a month.
We are currently building underwater mermaid homes. Fairy homes. Homes for Tiny avatars (like bunnies and squirrels) and larger Tudor- Medieval and Fantasy inspired homes.
Amenties include an active community, a airborne community center with a movie theatre, bar and games and of course the bistro at the market, surfing, castle events and our ever growing list of goodies that we keep adding because I am obsessed. Sigh
So IM me in world or feel free to email me with questions.
Shop prices -
tents 5
big tents 10
double decker buildings like those seen in the market will be 20 for the whole thing.... 10 for the top only.... 15 for the bottom only.
This will be a working Slurl for the new isle - doesnt work yet - but go to regular old Brythony and then start flying till you see a bunch of empty land and houses.
