Hello everyone =^.^= I'm new here... I like this community a lot. I like Lolitas and Dolls, and of course Jrock too... I'm shy, but because I'm shy I talk too much... my problem. I live In Finalnd and here is hard to find anything Lolita clothes... sad. I like to make my own clothes, but I have I have bad head to make something without patterns...I hope I can be part of this community.
I don't know have you see that pic before but i send it still...
Hey, just joined. I've sent away for some Ben Nye make-up, white foundation and such. Just wondering, anyone know the better ways to apply j-rock like make-up? Any specific tips on the white face makeup? Thanks
ah...i come from a school where the majority of people are punks and goths ...so its really hard to be original and to just be yourself without being labled as a tryhard...which is really anoying. im so sick of dressing the way i want ..and then turning up at school and finding someone with a familiar style. i make my own clothes ...so hopefully over the school holidays im going to try and make tons of gothic lolita clothing ...and hats and head dresses...i hope it all turns out :) shall try and post photos of what ive made sometime later...
Hi! If any of you can make it to Chicago on Nov. 20, we are having a Gothic Lolita Tea Party as part of our Anime Sound & Vision event (animesoundvision.com)!
We are also featuring the group "Kamui" that appeared in the "Kill Bill" movie as the "Crazy 88's" and also coordinated a number of the fight scenes, such as the one in the snow between Lucy Liu & Uma Thurman.
This is an event that focuses on all things Japanese. Another guest is Hiroaki Inoue who is a co-founder of Gainax and also a producer at AIC Studios in Japan. Trust me, you haven't been to any convention or event as awesome as this will be.
i'm lizzie, am french, am new to this community, will b 18 next month and just 'label' myself as being a goth lolita or just an old school punk rawk chick who look like 1 ^_^ but i luv old school goth music, i toatly luv joy division, the sisters, siouxsie, echo and the bunnymen etc.. i think nowadays teenage goths looks horrid.. Wow, so many people have joined! I just wish all of you could keep this community going and keep it alive, yes I know I've sucked on this part but it's hard with no digital camera or anything to take pictures but I will be posting pictures of J-rockers and Lolita models soon to give you all more pretty eye candy to look at and drool over ^^; I hope people can update this thing more and put more in it. We had a bloom of great pictures which soon died. I wanna see all of you! Pretty pwease? XD.
Ok, I'm done but pictures will go up soon. Thank you.
I'm finally going to introduce myself. I'm Katasha aka Kat, 19 years of age, engaged to a wonderful man, and I would say rather intelligent. ( A Picture Of Me ) ♥Kat
I just like to say, woo! Our community is growing and isn't dead yet! Oh yea! -does a lil dance- oK, now that I am done with being an idiot, let's get to it. I'd just like to say welcome to all the new members! I am so happy people are updating and showing off their pretty selves! I must say, we have some beautiful members I don't even know why I am the moderator here. XD. I feel like instead of this being a community for lolita it should be for the beautiful [just kiding] oh I know, I know. I am suppose to put up scans and pictures and everything but the pictures I took....look like crap basically. And sadly I don't own a digital camera myself which is very disapointing. And the people I do know with one I must get in touch with because I think I have the most perfect dress for and these shoes. But enough babblering.
Well, have fun guys and don't be afraid to post anything up here, art, pictures, anything. Don't worry even if it's not lolita related. This is a creative community and I mean that. Oh, and don't forget to take the banner if you want, it's on the info page, or will be once I remember to get my ass in gear. Oh, and don't be afraid to ask to add anyone. Make some friend damn't. XD. Bye.
Hello everyone! Im planning to start a website project on the Elegant Gothic Lolita style (and j-pop/rock/fruits but mainly EGL). I was wondering if you guys could help me... Im looking for pictures (of you in a egl dress maybe?) and articles, and I will give you tons of credits of course. Check out my site for more information: Evil-Puppets.net.
Well, I hope this community will grow big. I, myself is interested in j-pop/rock music and the gothic style *eyecandy*. And, of course, Im addicted to webdesign. Yeah, Im a real geek ^^.
Hi! I joined just a little while ago, but I never had time to properly introduce myself. My name is Andrea, a 16 year old girl from Long Island New York. I love fashion, photography, drawing, music, and I sing in a band called Cæsura. I've been into the jrock and jpop scene since 1999 - and through the years I've compiled tons of posters, almost 70 magazines (like Shoxx, Arena37c, Fool's Mate, UV, the Gothic & Lolita Bibles, and so much more), tourbook and photobooks, almost 100 cds and singles, and met a lot of people (either Japanese ot not) that share the same interests and I've learned a lot from them. My favorite jrock bands include Malice Mizer, Dir en grey, L'arc~en~Ciel, Hide, Due'le Quartz (before they broke up =(...), Miyavi, Pierrot, and too many indies bands to name (like Nightmare, Kagrra...). I also love industrial and gothic music, so Schwarz Stein (another good group that broke up!), Moi dix Mois, and Eve of Destiny are definate favorites. As far as jpop goes, I love Ayumi Hamasaki, Hiakru Utada, Do As Infinity, Gackt, Aikawa Nanase, and more.
I also watch anime and read graphic novels, not as much lately as I used to though. my favorite anime series are Gravitation and Yami no Matsuei.
I remember the first time, about 2 years ago, I saw a Volks doll... O.O ....They are sooo amazing!!!!!! My favorite was instantly Shiro.... he's gorgeous!!!
Oh yeah, if any of you are big Malice Mizer or Mana fans you might recognize me from my website Mana Belle (that hasn't been updated in ages) or if you're a big fan of Japanese fashion and you know of Riku, you might have seen this page I made. Hmmmm what else to say about me? Idk, you ask me questions if you want! And comment to tel me what you think of my work, I see this community isn't too active, and I'd like to try and change that by promoting a lot!
Wow, look it's your (un)faithful moderator! Muhawawa. Yea, I know I haven't spoken a word in a few months, I swear this thing with get something nice, a scan of a lolita or kana, mana or anything. i just need all this school papers to be done with.
Anyway, now that this is all done let's start a healthy debate! -Pulls out the big red fans- Ok, topic:
Should Gothic and Lolita ever be introduced in America's subculture? Should it be shown to the American culture like the rest of the "gothic" underworld [the little that IS shown] such as articles that have been in Gothic Beauty for one. Or on the covers of vogue as I have often spotted articles for. If so, where should these type of clothing be sold at? Given over to Hot Topic which will more than likely rip it to culture shreds, or only on-line being sold at prices to high for any Lolita wantings? What do you guys think? Honestly, I wanna know. Are you guys worried it'll become a "fad" even though everything goes through that time in our culture? Talk! Come on people.
