Calling all musicians!!! [Jun. 18th, 2008|11:46 pm]

papaul69
Since there doesn't seem to be one yet (that I can find), I have created this....

[info]ukgothmusicians

It's to help those of us who wear too much black or UV and like to make music, find others who wear too much black or UV and like to make music. Every other forum seems flooded with metalheads and people who still say "Madchester". Seriously, it is not easy finding musicians into our kind of music.

So, if you're a knob-twiddler looking for shouter, or a hitter of things looking for a plucker of stringy things, this is the place for you.

My apologies, but I'm gonna x-post this like hell.

FRONT 242 releases FREE 2-track download [Jun. 6th, 2008|12:01 am]

side_line
Ahead of their time back in the early 80's, the Belgian cult electronic act FRONT 242 now makes an ultimate statement towards abusive audio compression by releasing the free 2-track download, "First moment", in 5 various audio sound quality formats:

1. Mp3 - 192Kbps (medium quality)
2. Mp3 - 320Kbps (good quality)
3. Wave - 16bits/44Khz files
4. Free Lossless Audio Codec (Flac) - for PC
5. M4A Apple Lossless - for Mac

It's up to the listener to hear the difference between the various audio sound formats and thus hear for him/herself what good quality audio sounds like. To get hold of this free 2-track download, which will hit the online world on June 15th, you need to register here : http://www.alfa-matrix.com/shop_comments.php?id=1524_0_8_0_C ! Pre-registering is needed in order to get hold of the free download.

Happy hunting... !

Are Combichrist Coming to Bristol?! [Jun. 1st, 2008|02:49 pm]
sad_old_goth

According to the Bristol Bierkeller's own website, and the Flag Promotions website, Combichrist are due to play at the Bierkeller on Thursday 31st July:-

http://www.bristolbierkeller.co.uk/page3.html

http://kaosuk.myftp.org/kaosuknet/press/flag/listings.txt

There is no mention of this as yet however on either the official Combichrist website, or their MySpace page.

Can anyone confirm further if Combichrist will indeed be coming to Bristol?!

Saw them in Brighton last year - absolute dynamite live!

Here's Hoping!

Well this months meeting was certainly enthusiastic.  It was a love or hate thing for Confederacy of Dunces.  Next months book has been selected as Morality Play by Barry Unsworth.  Meeting date has been set for 25th May at 2.30 at The Knights Templar. Always up for new members just come along. We're quite easy to spot!!
