After living here almost half an year now I'm starting to miss my old activities. Would you people here ever feel like having a loli meet? I have all the clothes here but I dont dare to wear them, because I haven't seen any lolis so far. Sad.

We have all the hippies here. And Chavs. Where are the puffy skirts and parasols?

Mature 21 year-old Brighton Student on work placement yet seeking similar as lodger/flatmate for newly bought below ground floor 2 bedroom patio flat in Norfolk Square.

Room is a small double bedroom with ensuite shower and toilet facilities.

£400pcm (or best offer) including water bills

Hello!

I'm moving to Bringhton for my studies this fall, and just found this livejournal. Are you active group? I noticed, that this hasn't been updated awhile, so...

Anyway, I'm finnish gothloli/goth/whatever and I'd like to know, if you have loli meetups and such in Brighton. Our tiny loli scene is pretty active now in Finland, and I would like to continue it after I move to UK...

Or maybe I'm wrong and this journal is about Brighton, USA. You can never tell..

High Tea

Does anyone know of any nice tea houses or places to have high tea in Brighton? It cannot be too posh or have a strict dress code. I just want a nice place to go, enjoy tea and cakes, and be lolita. Sorry if this is off topic.

A Formal Gothic & Lolita Event?

Would anyone be interested in helping to organise a Gothic & Lolita photoshoot & dinner event in Brighton at some point (Date to be set, when would be good?), also who would attend a paid one, would you be willing to pay for a professionally organised event with a proper schedule etc…?

The location would be at the Royal Pavilion (http://www.royalpavilion.org.uk/) in Brighton for a professional photoshoot, some shopping in the Lanes & Dinner at a Japanese restaurant (TBC). There would be a fee for this event as it would need to be formally booked through the venue for the photoshoot & dinner but it would make for a great event, yes? Most likely next year sometime, any ideas on what's convenient for most, summer maybe? What do you guys think? We would need to RSVP to be able to do it properly, Fees would be paid In advance, no cancellations as price depends on how many attendees there are; so you’d need to be sure you can make it & accommodation would be up to you. We would definitely need minimum 10/15 people to make the price reasonable (Preferably 20 & above) as the more people we have the cheaper it would be. Let me know your thoughts/Ideas etc...

Personally I would love to invite some magazines to cover such an event & if all goes well make it an annual one too, but this all really depends on the interest here in the UK, are people willing to come to something like this & pay for it, is there enough interest?

Sooooo (completely picked out of the air...)

How about.... 2:00 on Saturday by the ticket booth for the convention? (have no idea of the iteneraries or the layout of the place because I can't find them on the site... pray there is nothing on I want to see then...)

OK so I dunno what were gonna do or really if anyone is gonna turn up (I will... may bring people with me but hey... I'll be the one dressed as a loli!

I propose it as the Saturday of the 29th (Haloween meetup... maybe we can have a picnic with spooky treats!)... if that's not conveniant... then we could try another date... but lets see who is available for this first k? This will be updated when I get confirmation... italics are people who have shown interest but haven't confirmed their attendance. Greetings fellow Lolis!

I thought it may be a good idea to Set the wheels in motion for a Loli meetup...

How does Saturday 1st October sound?

Here's a preliminary itinerary (times are very loose):

1:00: Meet for Lunch (Wagamama or Mochi Mochi?... you guys decide... and can we book at Wagamama or Mochi Mochi?... as I don't want to have to wait for ages to get in... If it's Wagamama I know where it is and what the prices are like... what about Mochi Mochi... what are the prices like and where is it? is it that one near Grand Parade?)
2:00: Wander through the lanes (possible photo shoot at the same time)
4:00: Photoshoot and general hanging out in Pavillion Gardens (maybe we can bring some GL bibles and Manga to flick through)
5:00: Make our way to a pub (Hobgoblin? better suggestion?) and spend as long as we like there!

Feedback... please... and a list of who intends on coming!

If you know Brighton

Hello, I hope this isn't too off topic. In about two months time I'm going to be moving to Brighton and I've never lived there before so I want a bit of help of places to go.

Firstly are there any fashion shops that I may find of interest? Either gothic, vitange, fruitsy, decora like. Or even good second hand shops?

Places to eat or drink? Does anyone know of any good resturants that sell Japanese food or nice tea places which are lolita friendly?

Also some help with buying food. I like to cook lots of Japanese food at home and was wondering if you had a Chinese supermarket anywhere? Or just somewhere that sells a lot of oriental food stuff (no normal supermarket will do the stuff I want T_T).. just so I know if I need to stock up or not XD

Finally what sort of reception do you get when wearing lolita out in the streets of Brighton? I have no problems where I am at the moment but I want to know what to expect and if there are any areas I really shouldn't go to dresses lolita.

Sorry for these annoying questions, and the off-topic ness but I've struggled to find help searching the net ^_^; Thank you if you can help.

I wouldn't be able to arrange a meetup until September (when I'm back at Uni) although could arrange a time to come back for a bit to hold it....

where? when?

here are some of my ideas (in no particular order):

Wagamama for lunch

trip 'round the north and south lanes

photo's in the Gardens of the Pavillion

Photo's on the beach/pier

Ending up in a pub/bar/club (may suggest the newly opened Eleventh Hour which is above the Engine Room which is an alternavive venue and is also on the seafront... also serve food so we could have dinner there!... ohh and I know the owner so could maybe do a meal deal there...)
