This community is made to help those with artists/writers/etc block. We all know how annoying and frustrating blocks can be; rendering us incapable of completing or even starting artworks and such. Often times this even gets in the way of our lives, so we're here to try and help break the block.
Artists are always told that to get better we have to practice all the time. And to break the block we have to just draw whatever, anything, and eventually something will come up. Well, from personal experience I've found it hard to draw at all when I have no ideas for a drawing. I'd have a blank paper and a pencil, and I can't put the 2 together.
This is where this community comes in.
What we'll do is simple:
- come up with a topic or a theme for a week or a day [or some other length of time]
- and the members would have to draw/photo/write/compose/whatever something that deals with the topic.
- Inspiring things such as personal experiences, links, and other artistic events are also posted too, to help break the block!
If one idea takes you to something completely different, then all the better since that's what the community is for.
+ Please LJ-Cut (<lj-cut text="text goes here">) when you post something lengthy/big.
+ You can post just about any kind of art, but if it's something R-rated or higher, then please say so in your post before the LJ-cut.
+ You can post more than one piece of work per topic.
+ You can share pieces that have nothing to do with the topic.
+ You can share inspiring stories, advice, books, anything, too.
+ Criticism is welcome, unless the user sharing says otherwise; however, please make it constructive.
+ Be courteous. Being an ass will get you in trouble, so no discouraging or cut-down comments.
+ This isn't a forum, so don't post random stuff that has nothing to do with community.
+ Please don't plug yourself or other sites/communities, unless it's relevant to the community.
+ Any kind of art form is welcome (drawing, painting, photo, writing, poetry, music, etc).
+ No requests/commisions here.
+ You don't have to work for hours or days on your posts.
+ Do LJ-cut please...
+ This list may be updated at later time.
+ We'll try to have a weekly topic, and a daily topic.
+ Daily topic will be something simple usualy.
+ Weekly topic will take a bit more thinking.
+ There are technically no deadlines, so you don't have to worry about submitting something for a topic from a while ago.
+ There may be mature topics, so be aware.
+ This list may also be updated at later time.
