Morally Grey November is Upon Thee!

Morally Grey November is here! You can run but you can't hide.

The exchange will start today and run up to December 15 (November is so very elastic this year), and afterwards each fic will receive a banner (as well as a special prize if it exceeds 5000 words). We will have a vote for best fic, and the winner will receive an illustration for their fic.

The posting schedule can be found here.

Rules and Posting Guidelines )

And one last thing - this isn't so much a rule as a personal request: Claude/Bennet is still a fairly rare pairing, and in order for this exchange to really be successful (and achieve the world domination it deserves, naturally), we need to generate some buzz, and we need people to be wildly enthusiastic and participate as much as possible. This goes for all the comm. members, and doubly so for the exchange participants - please try to read and comment on the exchange fics as much as you can, and if you like a particular fic, rec it in your jounral (I'll put up a post that will allow you to link your recs and receive small prizes for it). And pimp the exchange in general! Use tasers, Haitian sensations and puppy eyes if necessary.

Let's get some morally grey karma going, people, so Morally Grey November can reach its full awesomeness potential!

Also, if you've got any ideas for more stuff we could do to spice up the exchange, please comment!

I can haz wild enthusiasm tiem nao plz? :D

Fic Exchange: Gift Bank Volunteer Post

Morally Grey November is on the horizon, so it's time to indulge in some insane modly ideas!

To encourage reccing of exchange pieces, we're going to have 'reccing scratch tickets' - a small random prize for anyone who makes a rec (we'll put up a rec linking post once the exchange is on the way).

This is a volunteer post for those who'd like to contribute to the gift bank. If you'd like to help, please comment to this post with the kind of gift you're willing to provide - icon, drabble (100-500 words), fic (500+ words), art, anything you can think of, really, as long as it's Claude/Bennet-centric (and ideally low-maintenance, so it's not too big a trouble for you). Also specify the amount you're willing to provide (3 drabbles, 5 icons, etc). You don't have to be an exchange participant to contribute to the gift bank!

Once the exchange starts, for every rec a person makes they'll get a random gift from the gift bank. The gifts (at least the small ones) should be completed until Dec. 30, so we can make a master-post of gifts for the New Year.

Feel free to comment with questions, especially of the 'WTF?' variety. :D

Gift Bank

- 3 fics
- 3 drabbles
- 1 fanmix
- 3 icons
- 1 fanart

Fic Exchange: Last Chance Sign-ups

Due to some interest, I'm reopening sign-ups for the exchange through October 9.

This is only going to work if we get at least two new participants, so send morally grey vibes/pimp this to your friends (those of you who are already participating are allowed to sign up with a second prompt, but only if you happen to be an insane writing machine and are absolutely certain you can manage two fics for the exchange)!

The minimum word count is 1000. If you go over 5000, you will receive a spiffy graphic-sy prize. In the end of the exchange we'll be having a vote, and the winning fic will receive an illustration.

Fic Exchange: A Few Announcements

1) At the end of the exchange, we'll be having a vote for best fic (you can choose not to participate in the vote), and the winner will receive an illustration for their fic ([info]deani_bean has awesomely agreed to provide the art). So sharpen your muses and make appropriate sacrifices to the morally grey deities.

2) Since the exchange is eating up NaNoWriMo, we might as well have a NaNo challenge of our own. So - anyone whose exchange fic exceeds 5000 words will receive a very special shiny graphic-sy prize for their fic.

Morally Grey November is gonna be best ever. :D

Fic Exchange: Prompts, Rules and Schedules, oh my!

Prompts have now been sent out. If you haven't received your prompt, please let me know ASAP!

Rules
  1. Ideally, all three of the prompts you were given should be present in your fic, but if you can't work it out, one or two are alright. You must use at least one of the prompts in your story.
  2. The secrecy of this exchange is morally grey, and as such, you're allowed to discuss the prompts privately (I'll be happy to help out in any way I can) and have your fic beta-ed. Don't discuss them in public, though, and make sure you don't discuss them with your recipient. The element of surprise is vital!
  3. ...Profit?
  4. Further rules will be posted closer to the first deadline, once I make them up.

If you want to change your deadline, please contact the person with whom you'd like to switch, and notify me about the change. If you can't find somebody to switch with, let me know and I'll place you in early December. This is, however, a last-resort measure, which means I reserve the right to smack you with a large stick.

Claude/Bennet Fic Exchange Sign-Up Post

Facts:

1) Claude/Bennet is awesome in its moral gheyness greyness.
2) There isn't nearly enough Claude/Bennet fic around.
3) There really, really should be.

Due to the above reasons and because I feel like it, a Claude/Bennet fic exchange is hereby declared.

Gentlemen. Ladies. Anything in between. Mr. Muggles.

Prepare your paperwork.

Each participant will fill out a proper request form detailing the kind of fic they want written for them, and in exchange write a fic requested by another participant.

Schedule:

  • September 3rd to September 14th: Sign-ups.
  • September 15th: Fic assignments will be sent out.
  • November 1st to Novermber 30th: Completed fics will be posted. A personal deadline will be given to each participant, so the fics will be posted a day or two apart.

Please fill out this very proper form to sign-up:

Email address:
Genre of fic you'd like:
Three elements/lines/objects/themes/etc you’d like:
Things you will not write about (unless Nakamura makes you):
Preferred deadline (early/mid/late November):
Are you willing to be a back-up writer, in case a participant... retires prematurely?

The minimum word count is 1000.

Please comment if you're willing to be a back-up writer without participating in the exchange, if you'd like to offer your morally grey services (not like that) in banner making for the fics, or with any relevant questions/suggestions/paperwork.
