part_of_him, using the prompt: The gods may throw a dice/Their minds as cold as ice/And someone way down here/Loses someone dear, by Abba. Used several quotes from Twilight by Stephenie Meyer - they can be found in their rightful places on pages 42, 54, 63 and 71 of the UK paperback edition. Also several musical references - you probably don't need me to point out the Elvis and the Sinatra, but the Aretha Franklin one is from My Song, which is far more obscure than it should be. For the classical references, everyone mentioned is on Last.fm somewhere, but I couldn't resist linking these, because they're the two I really had in mind for Edward: Chopin - Nocturne in C# minor and Rachmaninoff - Lilacs. Feedback is always very much appreciated, and in this instance, is rewarded with Edward playing you a selection of your favourite piano pieces ;).

Dedicated to
mrstater, for being generally awesome, but also because way back through the mists of time, we had many very inspiring conversations about the ideas on which this chapter is based, and without them I think this section of the story would have looked a whole lot different. My Remus does slightly better than mouldy spuds, though ;).
