Hirono Shimizu and Shinji Mimura: D7 - Out
(OOC: Damn you writer's block! And on my last entry as well! But as things need to move forward, this is the last Hirono post! ever *tear*)

Hirono gazed up into the cloudy sky, laughing to herself. Her fight with the guards seemed almost funny now. She no longer felt guilty for wrong she had done in the past. Now it was all about survival. The survival or her and Shinji. As long as that was accomplished, nothing else mattered.

A few moments later, she heard the sound of footsteps echoing through the trees, and turned to see Shinji running gleefully towards her. As he got close, he threw something at her while laughing out loud. Hirono raised an eyebrow as she caught it, and looking down into her hands, saw it was a small bottle of poison. An empty bottle. She grinned. “Ha ha, Wow! The old bastard got what he deserved then!”

“Hell yeah! I fucking rule!” Shinji replied loudly, punching the air victoriously. They had done it. They had beaten Kitano and Battle Royale. Together.

Hirono moved forward, wrapping her arms around him, pulling him closer to kiss. “I’m so proud of you!” she said affectionately, running her hand through his hair.

He winked flirtatiously, before looking around at the burning truck and two corpses lying on the ground. He whistled admiration, before ruffling Hirono’s hair. “Looks like a fun party. Shame I was late!”

“I had it under control the whole time!” Hirono said teasingly.

Shinji nodded, gazing down at the burning corpse of the guard on the truck. Turning towards the shore, his eyes lit up. “Ah look! Our limo’s here!”

He extended his arm like a gentleman, and Hirono curtsied before taking it. They both burst into fits of laughter. It was such an elation to finally be free of the Battle Royale that had claimed their friends. Their future awaited them, just as if nothing had ever happened. Now life just seemed even more exiting. Hirono had the prospect of living happily now. She had managed to prove to someone that she was more than the rumour. And in return, she had found love. A love that ran far deeper than anyone could ever know.

“What you say you and me get off this pile of shit?” Shinji asked, taking Hirono’s hand again, but more seriously this time. “We could go out, get a few drinks. And you can pay!”

Hirono sighed. “You cheeky…! Oh well, I’ll make a man of you yet!”, and with that, they stepped into the boat, and started the motor. Hirono kissed Shinji on the check, before the two of them turned back, to watch the island as they sped away. Smaller and smaller it got, flying off into open sea. Behind them they left the bodies of their classmates. 40 deaths that shouldn’t have happened, and 1 that should. From a distance, the island had a haunting beauty about it.

Soon, Hirono found herself so overcome with emotion, that she turned away, facing instead the open water they were speeding into. It didn’t matter where they were going. Now they were finally moving forward. They would never forget what had happened on the island. And they would make sure that the government never forgot either.

Fuck them up?

Hirono exhaled triumphantly.
