Pictures!

After a unanimous vote, it's been decided: This community will now be open for picture posting as well as icon posting.

ALL MEMBERS may post slashy icons or slashy pictures, at any time, regardless of icon challenges or anything else. Photos, drawings, whatever. I'm going to call it all good for now.

The Rules
(You knew these were coming!)

* If posting more than one picture, they must be put behind a cut.
* If the one picture is overly large, it must go behind a cut, too.
* If you are asked by anyone to put the pics behind a cut, you must. It's only polite.
* If you do not put the pictures behind a cut, even after being asked to, the post will be deleted.
* All "not safe for work" and other full- or close-to-full nudity pictures need to be put behind a cut, with the appropriate warning.
* Tag your posts with the names of the wrestlers in the pictures.

That's pretty much it for now. It's common sense, it's polite, and I think we'll all be fine.

Having said that: Start posting away! :D

One last modly thing for the night:

Would we like to open up the comm to posting slashy pics, as well as icons?

The community has been icon-based ever since opening, but after long thought and more exposure to a wider range of groups myself, I've been thinking more and more about allowing picture posts. The rules would be the same: Wrestling + slashy only, whether male, female, or multiples.

I'm thinking this could encourage participation, both by sharing pictures that we would like to see iconed, and by sharing icons that result from the pictures. As always, both icon and picture posts would be open to all community members. (You do all know that you're welcome to post slashy wrestling icons at any time, regardless of the challenges, right?)

Mod Post: Open again, with some modifications

I hope everyone has had a good (or at least, not bad) holiday season, and I hope that you'll have a good new year, as well!

Now, on to business.

* Since the vast majority of voters agreed, we'll be starting over with a new theme, which I'll post shortly. My apologies to everyone who entered the last theme, but rest assured, you can feel free to re-use those icons if you wish, and we may re-visit that theme at a later point anyway.

* Given the increasing lack of participation over the last several challenges, I'm going to switch us to an every-two-weeks challenge schedule instead of every week.I realise the holiday season and NaNo and other real life things were interfering, but I suspect this might work out better for everyone. (It may even give me a chance to get caught up on the back winners' banners that I owe. *ahem*)

* If anyone has any question, suggestions, or concerns, please feel free to comment here. I don't bite. Promise. (Except the hubby. But that's different. *g*)

* Lastly: Please, please, please submit challenge themes to the list! We'll take 'em all, I swear.

Well... soon, anyway. I apologize for the lateness of this, since I'd originally predicted we'd be re-opening after NaNo was over, but the holidays and work sort of caught up to me. Now that they're settled down, back to the iconage!

Mod Post: Temporary challenge suspension

Greetings from your friendly neighbourhood community owner! I have some important news: I'm temporarily suspending the challenges.

There are a couple of reasons for this. Firstly, since there were only two icons submitted for Challenge 16: Time, even after an extension, I'm interpreting that to mean that people are losing interest. As much as I hate to think that, I understand it, since real life does come first. Secondly, since this November, a.k.a. National Novel Writing Month, and at least two of the three mods for this community are participating, our attention just won't be all that available for a while.

This community is not going away! Have no fears about that. At the beginning of December, I'll re-open the challenges, starting with #16. In fact, please consider that challenge open for submissions throughout the rest of this month.

Also, please feel free, as always, to post any and all slashy wrestling icons that you may make. This community is always, always open to random iconage posts---it's not just challenges. ;)

Random inspirational ideas: Clocks, watches, memorable moments, then-and-now, aged photos... anything that might allude to the theme. Really. The theme is for inspiration, not for fencing-in.

Wow, guys. I'm ashamed to admit it, but over the last few weeks, what with other things going on in my life... I forgot about this community.

*hangs head*

However! I've remembered now, and I'm going to go ahead and kick things back into life today. I'm a little disappointed with the number of submissions for the last challenge, but since everyone had a few extra weeks (!!), I'm going to go ahead and post up the voting today, along with a new challenge.

Extension - Voting - Challenge #14 Hugs

So I thought I had a really cool idea of begging for votes before the voting even ended because we had a 3-way (Hee!) tie for 2nd place and a 3-way tie for 3rd place on Tuesday** afternoon. Thanks to the additional 4 ladies/gents that added their votes, we now have a 2-way tie for 1st, a 3-way tie for 2nd, and a paper-thin almost 2-way tie for 3rd. Not sure if that's better or worse! *g*

This is my way of saying that the voting will be extended for another day (until tonight September 5, 2007) and I'm begging... yes begging! ... if you haven't voted yet, please do so!
