dresstokill, this community is an icontest featuring only the male characters of Nickelodeon's Avatar: the Last Avatar.

There are occasionally mini-challenges featuring trivia, drabbles, or whatever will come to mind. These will be posted only when participation is high.

Schedule is as follows:
- Monday: New challenge posted
- Sunday: Icons due by 9PM PST; voting posted
- Wednesday: Winners announced/ reminder
- Friday/ Saturday: Reminders posted
- Thursday (not every week): Mini-challenge posted with varying challenge length

Rules

* Join the community in order to submit icons though anyone, even non-members, can vote.

- All effects are accepted, including animation, unless a challenge states otherwise.

- Do NOT post, use, or do anything else to show your icon(s) anywhere until the results are posted. If I am alerted that you are doing one of these things, your icon(s) will be disqualified from that week’s contest. If you persist, it will result in a ban from this community.

- All icons must be usable on Live Journal; i.e., they must be 100x100 or smaller, and 40kB or smaller.

- Up to 4 icons per challenge can be submitted.

- You MUST make your own icons; you cannot take someone else’s icon and present it as your own. Not only is this cheating, but it's stealing as well.

- Icons MUST be fresh for each challenge. No recycling allowed.

- No fanart AT ALL, please. Use images from the show, official art, and the books.

- This is an icontest featuring just the boys. No girls only in the icons.

- In regards to possibly offensive icons, I'm very slack with this. If you want your icon to say "fuck you" on it or imply sexual behavior, I'm going to say go for it. If you have an LJ, you are on the internet, if you're on the internet, then you're already corrupt. What's an icon going to do?

- In relation to the above rule, just remember to respect the other members. No obnoxious behavior by intentionally offending anyone. Lets be mature here folks.

- If you would like to credit anyone(textures etc.) or make any notes about your icon, do so in your submission post. The submission post will be unscreened after the challenge.

You do not need to include the URL if you post the actual image. LJ's snapshot is a nuisance.

Voting

-There must be a minimum of 10 icons in order for the voting to be posted. If not, the voting is postponed until the minimum is reached. This is to encourage entries and to maintain competition.

- Anyone can vote; you don’t have to be a part of the community to do so. However, I do check IP addresses and everything, so don't even think about making multiple accounts to vote for yourself. Doing so warrants a permanent ban.

- Do not vote for yourself, or get others to vote for you.

- Do not point out individual icons during voting. You may, however, comment about the entire batch.

- If I (or anyeone else) catches you pointing out individual icons before voting has concluded, YOUR icon will be disqualified, and your comment(s) will be screened until voting has concluded. Your comments could affect the voting, and it's not fair to the icon maker who was singled out if it was a negative or positive reason.

- For the Best Overall spots, you must vote for different icons for each. You may vote for the same icon again in the special category if there is one (Which depends on the conditions below).

- There are three permanent spots, which are First, Second, and Third placings.

- If there are at least 15 entries, there will be an overall special category (such as "Best coloring", ect.) that you will be notified of in the voting post.

- If there are at least 20 entries there will be a Mod's Choice.

- Finally, if there are at least 25 entries, there will be a second special category available.

- Special Category votes are as follows:
~ Best Coloring
~ Best use of Text
~ Most Unique
~ Best Interpretation
~ Best Composition

No notification prior to voting will be given regarding the special categories. If you have any suggestions for special categories, follow the guidelines above.

- If there are any ties, and there are less than 30 icons which have been submitted any challenge, a tie-breaker post will be posted.

Master Iconbenders/ Winners

Win either 3 challenges in a row and your name will be featured here for as long as this community exists in the Master Iconbenders Class A list.. Win 5 in a row or 12 overall and you'll earn a years worth of paid account time with of course the addition of your name here under Class S.
