How can you resist a pleading Kame?!

Remember although JE is our primary doujin subject, we do have a few Malice Mizer and GacktJob doujins that still need help, too! And we may even have a TVXQ one or two lurking around ^_~

For our list, check out this here post.

MOD!post, notice and request
Hey all! Hope you've been enjoying the recent surge of activity around here! I know I have!

First, a few things you might want to take note of.

-The comm now has a tag system, whooho! Thank Fuji for pushing me into it, because lj dino that I am, hardly ever use the things. But it should help anyone looking for something in particular. They should be included in the comm's layout before too long. If you're posting, I will not require you to use tags, but it would certainly be nice!

-The list of our projects has recently been updated and reorganized. So go take a look here if you're interested. Remember, these are just the projects that I, myself; BF mod, am part of. Any by our members that I'm not directly involved in are not included.

With that, plus the recent (wonderful!) influx of doujin scans being shared, I have a request.

-This was brought up by one of my translators/editors, but I agree it's a good idea. It would be really, really nice if anyone planning on doing scanlations of male Asian musical artists doujin (ESPECIALLY those listed in our project list above) would give me a heads up. (you can comment to any of my posts or mail me at velvetdrop[at]hotmail.com.) I'm only asking this because I have 40+ doujin we're trying to scanlate and we don't have all that much free time, and there aren't that many of us. So we'd like to avoid duplicate projects. I hope that doesn't come off as bad. I know some people are really sensitive about anyone 'claiming' a project, and there's nothing wrong with multiple versions of some things. But it just makes sense since we have so many, we'd like to be able to devote our volunteers to those that no one else is currently doing.

-Also, if you see anyone sharing, or with an interest in, the kind of doujin we have here, feel free to direct them here! I crosspost occasionally, but I don't with every release, so many people may be unaware of us or forgotten about us during our inactivity. I'd love for this place to be a resource for as many doujin and manga as possible!

[mod post] regarding crossposting
This is especially directed to anyone that's been crossposting anything found here to aarinfantasy, mangaupdates, or similar sites. PLEASE BE CAREFUL TO GET THE CREDITS RIGHT!!! Not every doujin that is posted here is by Boys Framed! Boys Framed is like a forum, where many people contribute. We also do scanlations, but many members that are not affiliated with us post their own scans and scanlations here, too! You can credit us as being where you found the scans, but please be careful when crediting us as the scanlator!! I don't want anyone thinking we're trying to take credit for their hard work! All of our releases are posted by me ([info]winged_kame) and have our name and/or 'Boys Framed' stamped on most pages. In general I'm ok with crossposting as long as the credits remain intact, but not everyone posting things here may feel the same, so it's always a good idea to ask first! I hope that made sense. Any questions, feel free to ask! Thanks for your attention and understanding here ^_^

OT: Thanks to everyone that volunteered in the previous post! I should be contacting you all within the next few days ^__^

any volunteers?
Hey all, your friendly neighborhood mod here. You might've noticed the Boys Framed scanlations around here have been fairly sparse lately. I've got over 45 doujin currently and would love to see more of them get nicely scanlated. So I'm sounding out another call for volunteers. If you'd like to translate or edit doujin (the vast majority of which is JE related), please leave a comment to this post with your e-mail (or pm me if you don't wanna post your e-mail publicly). Please be fairly confident in your skills! Being able to translate half a sentence doesn't really help. Just because you can make nice icons in PS doesn't mean you're ready to edit an entire doujinshi. If you have samples of your work, that'd be awesome, but not required! That said, we really do need more help, so you don't need to be perfect, just proficient and reliable with some time on your hands! If you've volunteered before and haven't heard from me lately, feel free to volunteer again. I tried to keep track of everyone and get back to everyone, but someone may have slipped through the cracks in my organizational skills.

Also, we are looking for a logo stamp for our scanlations! This'd be a small image, less than 100x100px. It'd be the thing stamped on every page of each scanlated doujin to prevent others claiming credit for our work. It needs to say clearly 'Boys Framed', but beyond that I'm pretty open to what it looks like. If a decent amount of people submit logos, I may hold a contest and give a small prize to the winner. But I'm not expecting enough submissions. You would be credited for designing the logo in each of our releases.

On a side note, I just want to thank everyone that's helped us so far! Even if it was just one project! And thanks to everyone for being here and supporting the comm!

doujin list update
Yes, more again ^^;; Blame the site I found that has some so I don't have just YahooJapan Auctions to buy from anymore.

My list is here. There are 9 new JE ones, and 1 new GacktJob one.

Volunteers to work on the scanlations are always welcome! I may not have a project to give you right away, but I keep a list of everyone and if something becomes available I shoot out e-mails ^_^ Please be reasonably confident and efficient in your translating or editing skills!

doujin update
Hello all! Hope you're having a good summer! I finally got some free time and managed to update my doujin list. I have 20 total JE doujins now o.0 So check it out here to see photos of the covers!

Thanks to everyone that's volunteered to work on the scanlations. Several people that I gave scans to have dissapeared and stopped responding to me. I'm giving them one more week, then I will be giving some of those to new people to work on. And I will try and get more scanned when I can. So if you've volunteered you may hear from me soon.

Again, to volunteers, if you become too busy to work on these, please tell me! I hate nagging people to do volunteer work. If I just don't hear from you once I send a mail or two to check on the progress, I must assume you don't want to work on the project anymore or were just in it so steal my scans.

More volunteers are always welcome!

doujin update
Hey all! I recently got two more doujin so the list has been updated. Go take a look if you're interested!

So I've currently got 7 KAT-TUN doujin and 2 Malice Mizer doujin that need worked on. Since the list has gotten rather long, I'm asking if anyone else is interested in translating or editing some.

Take a look at the details before you volunteer! )

doujin scanlation projects - upcoming and completed
I figured it'd be better to let anyone interested know what I have, just in case you're planning on buying doujin yourself and/or doing scanlations and would rather not get ones I'll be sharing. I'm not saying to NOT do scanlations of your own if you have these and want to. However, letting me know if you have plans to do so would be nice so I know how to best use my time ^^;; Keep in mind, these are only the ones I'm involved in, not all the ones that've been posted to the comm! Check the memories or tags for those & to find the completed ones!

Included are a lot of KAT-TUN/ JE doujins and a few Malice Mizer/ GacktJob, and TVXQ doujins. The number's they're listed in is the order I bought them in, not necessarily the order I plan on working on them. None are for sale!!

MOD POST- PLEASE READ
This really dissapoints me. I had hoped to never have to post an angry mod post, less alone on the comm's 2nd day! But I guess a comm that gets this many members in one day is bound to attract some assholes (excuse my language, I'm upset).

Respect the members of this comm. That is one of our rules. The idea that someone could be a jerk enough to be rude to someone trying to share something just appalls me! Yes, using an lj cut is one of our rules too. But some people are new to lj. Some people do not speak English as their first language. Some people have a hard time understanding lj code. This is no reason to be rude to them! Especially when they're trying to do you a favor and share something!

If you didn't see what I'm talking about it's because it bothered the original poster so much she deleted the post. I can understand why she felt that way. No one wants something they did to be nice thrown back in their face or to be the cause of trouble.

Because of this I have changed the comment settings for this comm to log IP addresses of commenters. I'm sorry if this bothers you, but rest assured this will never be used for anything besides keeping track of people that outright disobey rules on purpose. If you make a mistake, I am very forgiving. If you purposely insult someone, I am not. I do not want to disable anonymous commenting or make posts friends only because I believe non-lj users should also have a chance to see what's posted here. But if this kind of thing keeps happening, I will have to.

I'm sorry to the people that've done nothing wrong and had to read this, but it really upset me. If we can't be nice to each other than no one will share anything and this comm will not live long. I'm sure most people on this comm are very nice and would never do anything like this. I'm just trying to make sure a few nasty people do not ruin it for everyone. I do realize this may have an adverse effect of essentually feeding the troll that commented that. So if it happens again, I will deal with it quietly. I just wanted to give fair warning since I didn't get a chance to comment on the original post.

Welcome!
Welcome to [info]boys_framed! Please excuse the very simple layout. If you would like to make us a prettier layout, please let us know! We'd love to have something at least a bit fancier!

I'm the creator of this place and one of the mods, if you couldn't tell ^^;

Feel free to look around, check out the user info page for our rules, ask any questions you may have, and start posting! I have a few things to share, which I will once we've got a few more members here. But to keep this comm alive we really need people that're willing to post and share their manga! So thank you for joining, don't be shy, enjoy your stay, and I hope this place will be successful!
