A question to my fellow Tintinologists. :D
I'm making Ottokar's Scepter for my Tintin costume and I have a question. The pelican statue on top: Should I stick to Herge's simple, cartoony style, or should I try to sneak a little more realism in (detail on feathers, details on the crown he's wearing)? Which do you all suggest? :D I'm leaning toward the latter because, while I want to be as faithful to the design as I can, Herge was doing a simple drawing of the basic idea of thew staff, I think such a detail-oriented kingship (Muskar's fancy clothes, ya.) would have a more detailed and ornate scepter. So anyway. Thoughts! Comments! Questions! Your advices, tell me them.

I would go with more detail. You're right, if Herge had drawn all the little ornate details it would've been a mess.

Also, we're going to get to see pictures of this costume, right? XD It sounds neat.

I've shown you kids pictures of the costume, right? I got a new shirt but pretty much everything else is the same. I can dig up a snapshot or two though. <3

I plan on sticking with the wig. Real hair looked 10x better but I got tired of butch women in flannel and mullets hitting on me. oO;

Oh those are bitchin'. Truly truly awesome. I gotta say, I like the wig more too, it does the little flippy in front better. XD

:D My real hair looked so much better from the side. XD But anyway, thanks for the kind words. I think it looks a little funny because of my big hips, but I've gotten a new, looser shirt and am looking for lower rise pants to help camouflage my hip shape. (The curse of being a girl! Wide hip-bones!)
