Tintin Movie!
Who else is ecstastic about the opcoming movie? Oh wait, did I just say mvoie? Sorry, meant MOVIES! I don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but here's some info I just found:

There will be at least three back to back movies.
Will be done in CGI.
Will be directed by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson (Genius plus genius equals ultra-genius).

They should be awesome! Because if they aren't I will hire hitmen to kill those responsible for ruining Tintin's image.

I was hoping for live-action *dodges rocks* (I have both live-action movies from the 60s and they're pretty well done IMO, and it's fun to see them in Turkey and Greece in the first one and Spain in the other. Also, Tintin's tuft of hair is well-crafted and doesn't seem fake *shamelessly plugs*). But I am so curious and excited (and anxious?) for this movie.

And whichever story they pick, I don't mind--it's Tintin :D. (They'll be smart to avoid Congo at all costs)

Isn't it supposed be live action with CGI? Like the recent Spiderman features. So there's hope for your spot-on tuft working out. :)

Are the 1960's feature films you own hard to get a hold of? I'm in the States, but I own/read the books in French. I could enjoy the films in either language. I saw stills from the films c/o Google images - they look good!

(Should've gone with the second reply, haha)
I got the impression it was a CGI-cell-shaded type deal--where maybe they have the actors move around acting like it's normal and have animators animate/color/CGI them.

Well, I was randomly in an HMV where I'm doing my studies (Ottawa, Canada) downtown and I was getting a CD of some artist in the francophone section and in the small dvd area, there were the two DVDs in a boxset of sorts for 22$ or 29$ CDN.

I think they might be hard to get a hold of...I never saw then back home in Quebec and in Ottawa I happened upon them by chance. Where in the US are you? (I haven't checked, but either amazon.ca or .com might have them)

And I quote, "Gollum Technology". So something like that how they stuck him in a suit and had him move around.

I'm worried too but I have my hopes up becuase Steven Spielburg cares a lot about this movie. I mean, he's been trying to make it happen for a quarter-century.

I think its going to be done like Gollum in Lord of the Rings. A real person proving basic moves but heavily CGI'ed to make them look like the characters.
