In celebration of Subliminal Communications Month, come up with your own message and a way to subliminally transmit it, then write about it.

Yeah I REALLY don't understand this one. :/ What's up with all these weird Writer's Blocks?

Sounds like something I might actually like too. But I really truly honestly do NOT understand. I even tried looking it up. :/ Can someone explain to me what exactly Subliminal means?

Maybe slightly amusing useless random update. enjoy. Dec. 6th, 2008 @ 09:07 am

You know, I never have the TV on, but you'd think watching some stuff on the DVR from the past week or 2 would have shown me some advertising for that Stand up to Cancer thing that aired yesterday. I saw absolutely NO advertisement for it whatsoever. I'm just now reading about it and evidently it aired last night.

Okkervil River's new album is freakin amazing - The Stand Ins. It's hard to say a favourite, since I usually change my mind after awhile so I'll refrain from making that kind of a statement as it would be premature.

Life has been in a habit of getting me down as of late. Workload is piling up and I've been having some not fun sinis issues, so to put it simply
bad headaches + feeling like shit + alexander the great + actually hard statistics + english research assignment = not fun = my life.

Also, I was going to say something else but got distracted before actually typing this... but I've forgotten so I will simply add this:

People should read more.

Yes, that was entirely relevant.

* I've recently rediscovered my love for Family Matters after being obsessed/losing interest/regaining interest/losing interest. XD And after being all OMG STEVE/MYRA AND LAURA/STEFAN for ages...well, as much as I still love those pairs, Steve/Laura somehow managed to trump them as the OTP. I mean, even before Laura officially falls for Steve, they have quite a few crowning moments of heartwarming. I think the best one is Laura dumping her sexy prom date cause he dissed Steve.

Also, Mother Winslow is the coolest old lady ever. I mean, she's 80something and rides a motorcycle and bungee-jumps. And fangirls hot younger men.

* I think I've been bitten by the Gatchaman bug. I haven't seen the series yet (though I fully intend to see all 4 versions and compare and contrast) but I've been reading reviews and character profiles and last night I read a whole bunch of awesome fic. I'm already going "Joe/Jun/Ken OT3" and fangirling Ryu and Jinpei as the hot big guy and the cute smartass kid. Is this a passing fancy, or do I have a new casual fandom on the horizons?

* I feel kinda burned out on Pokemon, but I'm still excited for Platinum and think Dawn's winter design is the cutest thing ever. I'm already making plans for a Platinum!Dawn/Barry-based layout at some point. And btw, [info]angeling-do you still need Pearl-exclusives? I'm probably gonna be starting a new game on that cart soon and once again asking a trusted friend to store my badass Pokeymans from that cart and then transfer them to my Diamond card.

* I keep forgetting I need the rest of Angelic Layer and Azumanga Daioh on DVD. >.>

* After putting it off, I intend to have a PS1 memory card next week so I can properly play Lunar II and start fangirling it. I actually love the voices, lol. "DODGE THIS!"

...and there's more, but if I went into my FE4 progress this'd get LONG, so I'll just say this: I hope I can make my pairings without anyone having to literally Die For The Ship like Deu did with Claude/Sylvia last time. :[

I finally got the smell out of the office carpet. Baking soda is my friend. It was giving me a headache, which was quickly turning into a migraine. I ended up wrapping my head in a pillow and falling asleep early. Which was kind of nice, because I got enough sleep, but that meant no Pendergast time. Boo.

Anyway, Tyler is better in that respect. His milk cup smelled funny, so maybe he had left it out without me knowing, and he drank some bad milk? I don't know. Either way, he didn't have any tummy episodes today, but his cough is much worse. He's waking up about every hour to cough and cry. It's so pitiful and it makes me worry. He should be okay, but I still worry.

Devon was ok yesterday, but now his nose is running again today. Three weeks of school, and Devon's only been well for a handful of them. Ugh. Anyway, he seems to be doing well in school. He still has his ADD moments where he's supposed to be doing something with everyone else and he'll do something other random thing like run in circles, but they seem to be happening less often. At least, I'm hearing about them less often. I knew he'd grow out of it eventually, but sooner would really be better than later! The only thing he really complains about is that they have to color a lot. He really doesn't like coloring. He'd much rather be learning about geology or biology. He's a pretty science-minded guy. I figure this is a good thing for the future, just something he has to deal with for a little while. Heh, and no one from his Pre-K class is in his kindergarten class, but he plays with some of them at recess. He gets to spend time with Parker, which I think is cute. I asked him what he does with her, and he said "oh, you know. We run around and talk." Heh. Two days ago, some of the other kids were making fun of him (You like Parker! You like Parker!). Parker told him to ignore them. Aww. I told him to ask them if they were jealous or something. ;)

Hanna rained on us today. Bad Hanna. :) They briefly had Ike coming our way, but now it seems to be going into the Gulf instead. But it's still 5 or so days away, so who knows. I'm just happy the weather will be clear for Kevin's drive home tomorrow. Yay, hesa comin' home!

The Main Street Christmas loop from Disneyland makes me happier than anything. It appears to be the same at Magic Kingdom... how come it makes me so much happier at Disneyland? Actually, I know the answer to that, but I'll end up sounding like Al if I say it. So I won't. I do like MK, just for completely different reasons as DL.

I watched Deliverance last night, and Jon Voight's Dave Foley-ish-ness amused me. He just looked like a KITH character somehow, I don't even know why. It must have been the silly little mustache.

I ordered Tyler a Halloween costume. He's going to be a lion. I got a spam catalog in the mail and I couldn't resist. The mane is the same color as his hair! *melt* Devon has expressed interest in a Wall-E costume. But for FORTY-FIVE DOLLARS (what? omg!), I can make one. Come on, all I need is a cardboard box and some paint. ;) Actually, I have a few ideas. I'm going to hold off for awhile though, in case he changes his mind.

Feels Like Yesterday Sep. 5th, 2008 @ 06:44 pm
[info]charmbraclet
Feels like yesterday that I was walking the crowded halls of my High School and wishing I was home sleeping. It's been a whole summer and now it's weird to have my other friends going to school and me sleeping in till' noon, It just feels weird. I'm glade I don't have to worry about anything to do with school anymore. The last thing I will be getting from school is my year book but I will probably be waiting until October for the damn thing.

The downside to not going back to a new year of school is no Back-To-School shopping, I now have to use my own money for my job ha ha.

I have a QUESTION- HOW do I print only certain things? Like, a journal post for instance, how do I print JUST the words and not the other stuff like the banners and calender and things like that? Help? Please? Anyone? I thought maybe highlighting it would do it, but, nope. Guess not. :/

You wanna know what's annoying? Having that song I kissed a Girl stuck in my head. That's annoying. That song is beyond stupid. Nothing against kissing girls, but still, stupid song. Stuck in my head.
And that other song, the Keep bleeding Love or whatever, is really stupid also. The song is like talking about 3 different things all at one time. And not exactly in a proper order.
And what else is stupid? That song Just realize what I just Realized or whatev. Cute, simple song, bad vocals. I'm no American Idol, but when you sing all in one tone, that's BAD vocals.

Writer's Block: Sharing Haikus Dec. 5th, 2008 @ 05:37 pm
[info]sic_gurrl

The Japanese haiku poet Basho once wrote, "Old pond / a frog jumps / the sound of water." Try writing some of your own haikus about the little things in your life. A haiku generally consists of a five-syllable line, a seven-syllable line and a second five-syllable line. You can also use any combination of ten-to-fourteen syllables.

Aren't nieces fun? Mine woke me up from a dead sleep this morning to tell she got one of those Meebas... LOL Good thing she's so darn cute.

What is up with all the parks locking up the bathrooms as soon as school starts? There are still plenty of people who use the park besides school aged children. I'm not just meaning homeschoolers like me but 2 year olds who are potty training, 3 yearolds, half day preschoolers, adults, etc. And it's still nice out. So annoying.

On the list of annoying... why the heck doesn't Itunes see my ipod? This is where regular old boring mp3 players are better, you can just open them like a folder and drag and drop... but nooo not with an Ipod. With them you have to jump through hoops.

Also I am still congested and coughing, this is at least the second week straight of this crap. I'm really getting tired of it. I don't seem to be sick, it doesn't seem like and infection. Argh.

I'm going to take a shower and hope the steam helps... even though it can't be a hot shower. :/
