AboutThis is a community for all fans of the acoustic ska-influenced band Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, or BOTAR for short. It can be used to discuss upcoming releases, show experiences, personal stories about that band, album reviews, etc. Be creative. Anything BOTAR is welcomed.
If you don't know who BOTAR is, here is a quick review:
Tomas Kalnoky, in an interview, half jokingly:
"We're acoustic guerrillas organizing a revolt to liberate the creativity that flourishes in the underground."
"Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution draw from a diverse and peculiar assortment of influences. A lot of bands are content to pillage surface elements from influential genres, but the Bandits go deeper. Instead of using an unwieldy appropriating approach to instrumentation, or latching onto the musical fashion of Long Island ice-teaing of genres, they are selective and clever with their influences. While ska (Third Wave Ska Revival) and acoustic folk are the predominant styles within the Bandits' sound, you'll also hear echoes of dynamic rock structures, proletariat anthems, and a passing hint of things Latin."
