This should be pretty quick...recent stuff first. I've been pretty tired recently and felt some other stuff, so I was looking online and figure it's probably because of a couple of things, one being I should probably have more iron. I have a multi vitamin I haven't taken in a while, and also haven't had red meat (although I did have tacos...), but I guess that wasn't that much.
But I had a fun day, worked with the same people in lab along with two others who joined us...and we studied together before the test, after the test like in the prerequisites or college everyone sits around and talks about the test...I think everyone thinks this test was a lot harder and the first test was easy, so we'll see how everyone does. I joined some people after class who went for drinks by or on Temple's main campus, so that was fun. Although I kind of feel like I should start drinking or something, everyone orders alcohol and I don't, and everyone talks about getting a drink or going to happy hour but I'm not into that stuff. I guess it's better though, with everything alcohol does to you. And I think it makes me tired and stuff too, when I've had it I got tired or was in the bathroom a lot since it goes right through you. Then I wasn't sure what I was going to do after that, or this weekend, it'd be fun to hang out with people like we did tonight, maybe I'll see if anyone wants to do that sometime. My parents are coming into the city on Sun night, having dinner with my brother and me, but other than that I'm not sure what I'm doing. It'd be cool to explore other parts of the city too...
Edit (10:40 pm): Just looking around on facebook/myspace, and I see some of the people I used to work with, and I kind of miss it. Even though towards the end I really started to not like it, I still miss some of my coworkers and those days that were really fun. Some people made it really fun and I was just thinking back to that party we had for the one coworker and her friend who went to Japan, and everyone was there and we had a good time. Maybe I'll get to visit while I'm home sometime. Also some of the customers, most of them got to be kind of annoying after a while but there were a couple I loved seeing everyday or when they came in. Would be cool to know what they're up to these days... |

My class got a few emails from our current professor about books we might need for the fall. I'm not sure what we're taking but I think it's gross anatomy and physiology, maybe others? I'll have to look that stuff up and look at our book list as well. The teacher will be the same, he says we are in lab groups of four which are usually picked alphabetically. So, I looked at our roster since I forgot who was in the class listed before me and it looks like if the groups are made up that way I have a fun group. So we'll see. I think I'll look forward to that. It will probably be a little weird at first but we have our neuroanatomy lab currently and a lot of us walked over to the other rooms and saw the cadavers. Now we'll just have to look at them on the inside and cut through everything...
We're already like halfway through the second summer course, the next one starts in August and runs for three weeks, so I think the summer will go by quickly. Then we're into the fall. I do want to find things to do for the last week in Aug. Maybe get to Atlantic City that first weekend or one day during that first weekend since the American Idols Live tour is there on that Sat. I wanted to see if I could end up seeing any of them and just hang out in Atlantic City, I haven't seen it in the summer yet and I hear it's really fun. And it's a beach. But one thing at a time, I guess I'll see if I can find anyone to go with me, also there was this thing at Festival Pier on the 8th I wanted to check out-I think Live and Blues Traveller and some other band. I should check into all these things. |

tag! I was tagged by memyselfandi87A) People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs and replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves. B) Tag eight people to do this quiz and those who are tagged cannot refuse. These people must state who they were tagged by and cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by. Continue this game by sending it to other people. 1. What are your reasons for having a LJ? I like updating stuff going on in my life and reading about other people, I've met some people on here which has been fun and I'd like to meet others on my friends list. 2. What do you do before bedtime? Watch tv, go online... 3. Who is your favorite band? When did you start to like them, and why? Hmm, I don't really have favorites, but I like classic rock, jazz, rap, most things other than country. 4. What is the city of your dreams and why? That I don't know, New Orleans was pretty cool. Had a lot of fun there and loved the city and the people. I'd like to go back. London was fun, although hot!, I'd go back there too. I really want to see the midwest and south, the southwest... 5. Are you an introvert or extrovert? I guess either but more of an introvert until I get really comfortable with someone. 6. Which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone? I think both, it depends who the person is and how you feel about them. 7. Do you trust easily? I guess sometimes, although it can take a while for me to get to that point. 8. If the person you secretly like is already attached, what would you do? Get to know them anyway, hang out with them...I'm not sure other than that. 9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days? Not having stuff to do on weekends, pretty much. Not too much, I'm enjoying school and everything. Oh I need money, not having money to buy stuff too. 10. What is your best quality? Creativity, personality in that I'm a nice person, interesting... 11. Is being tagged fun? Yes 12. How do you see yourself? Graduate student, hard worker, creative, independent 13. Who are currently the most important people to you? Family, I haven't gotten to know the people in my program that well yet but I'm interested in doing that. 14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is? Seems nice and fun, American Idol fan too! 15. Would you rather be single and rich or married but poor? I don't know, I'm single now and I'd like money, that way I could do a lot, but it would be nice to find someone to spend my life with... 16. How many children do you want to have, if any? I don't know, I was thinking of adopting, but could see having my own eventually. 17. What's better, to give or to receive? Can be either I think. 18. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously, who would you pick? Hmm, yeah I would need some kind of description of the two people too. But, the one who I feel like myself around, who I want to be with every day, same interests and philosophy on life... 19. What was your first job, and what were your duties? Movie theater-usher, so I cleaned up after the movies, I think I worked the concession stand a couple of times but I don't really remember that. 20. What is your biggest fear? Hmm, maybe that people won't like me, stuff like that. Tag (I'm not going to make these the links, just names): dassss3 roadwarrior220 marathoner452 atnaturesmercy renaberena rwhip923 matertenebrarum quilljunky I know some people aren't on LJ much, but if they do see this, it'd be fun. Also, I didn't change any questions, that'd be fun.. |

tv So I have Comcast service, have a question about something that comes up on my tv every so often. It says something like "Program Blocked CE-14 or CE+" and then the show comes back on. I did ask someone from Comcast about it and he said it might be the tv. Has anyone else had a problem like this before? Is it the tv itself? He said if it was Comcast the program probably wouldn't even be shown at all. I'm thinking it might be the tv but I'm not sure how to fix it. Thanks. |

keeping busy Didn't do much this weekend, but then again I did. Been walking around a lot, every time I want to do something I think of somewhere to go and walk around. I did clean a little, vacuumed and cleaned the bathroom a little, so that's good. Went to the Franklin Institute yesterday with a friend from class, that was pretty good. Spent more time there than I thought I would, actually kind of enjoyed it. It's more like a science museum which I like instead of looking at art museums and exhibits. Although in London, I did check out most if not all of the art museums-the Tate Modern, I can't remember names of the others but I went to a few. Mostly by myself too.
And I just walked over to the fountain area of Logan Square (or is that Logan Square itself?). Put my feet in and walked around a little in the fountain, I want to go back though with a bathing suit and go under the fountains and everything.
Didn't really do anything on Fri, I'll have to see what people in my class do on Fridays, we don't have class then for this class so I'll have to find things to do. I guess I should enjoy it now, we're probably not going to have 3 day weekends for too long. But I think I found a place to get cooled off even if I don't swim... |

not too much going on Started my weekend already, walked around a lot today as I might do tomorrow and/or Sun...I sent an email to some people in my class about doing stuff on weekends or even studying again like during the week. Haven't heard back yet but people might also be out and not around. I could send text messages too, to some...
Getting together with my brother tonight though which will be nice. I'm thinking I will take my bike out again tomorrow and go for a ride, not sure where yet though. Penn's Landing was fun, I also want to see South Philly, but I'm not sure how the roads are there and if there's sidewalks I could ride on. I kind of want to take the public transportation down there sometime. I guess I'll wait and see. Penn's Landing was fun last time I went down there, it was for the July 4th celebrations and I saw kids in these fountain or pool things, and I'd like to see if they're always there and if people are in those. I really want to find some kind of public pool in the city that isn't part of an apartment complex. It's so hot today and tomorrow's supposed to be like this too. Although it's fun being in the city during the summer except for some things, but I guess it's part of the city. I should also see what our class schedule is like in the fall/spring for this year and next, wonder what we're taking...I think we have gross anatomy in the fall (when we work with the cadavers), and physiology? Definitely have more than one class at a time which will be different than this but it should be nice since maybe people will be interested in studying and everyone will be back into school...
Edit: Heard back from some people, might be seeing the pirates exhibit at the Franklin Institute tomorrow with a classmate...was talking to another one on Facebook, that was cool. So maybe he's around on Fridays? Been a pretty good night though I haven't done much, I'll have to talk to people this week about what they do on weekends and about doing stuff. Got dinner with my brother and I have a lot left over which I can have tomorrow, so that will be good to save money and stuff. It was good to at least hear back from people and see the other even if it was on facebook... |

three day weekend So I got back recently, now my three day weekend starts. Which I guess for some is good, and it is good, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself for the next three days. Maybe see what some people from the program are up to...actually a lot of us came to this area yesterday to study, so I might walk around on the other side of Broad St (where 12th, 13th street are), thought about going over to South St. again and walking around.
And some time I want to go down to South Philly to check that out, I can't remember the last time I was down there. Just found out our lab assistant lives there, and this guy in my class (the older one) lives there so I'd like to see what that neighborhood is like. Wonder how far that is from the stadiums and Pattison Ave too.
So now I'm just doing laundry, my brother and I are doing something tonight...just have to find stuff for the rest of the weekend, but I'd hope eventually people in the program would get together and do stuff, actually last night some people talked about the Dark Knight, I think they were saying Sat night or afternoon, I guess I'll see. But people in our class also live all over-like the one guy in South Philly (who doesn't seem to be around anyway, but it'd be cool to hang out with him I think), North Philly, one other girl I know of in Center City, Northern Liberties, the suburbs, some from DE or MD...oh West Philly...eventually I'll figure it out though. Maybe get some people together to study again, or study with people individually...
Edit (about 10 pm): Didn't see my brother tonight, I think we're doing something tomorrow...I'll have to talk to people during the week now about doing stuff on weekends, even the people who live in DE/MD sometime, though the one guy from Newark is moving up to Roxborough soon. I think I'd like to go down to Baltimore/MD again soon. Did a lot of that last summer. Like on Fridays, since we don't have class, or the weekends, it'd be nice to have things to do. And one of the guys who is always busy with family on weekends (he says) is one who I'd like to hang out with even though he's older among other things...though I'll have to talk to him next week, maybe study or something or do something during the week? And I guess I have time, I'll be with these people for the next 2 years, so if I don't hang out with them right away I will eventually. Not sure I'll need to study with people either, those tests in the anatomy and physiology classes I took at the community college were really hard compared to this one we took today. Although it's fun to study with people and go over everything, hang out with them. Maybe we'll do that again at least for this final and then I can see what they're all doing that weekend...But then someone said the first test is pretty easy and then the next two are a lot harder, I guess we will see how it goes and who we can get together and when. I know some people work, others have other things going on, also people live all over, so that's hard.
Oh and I walked around a little in the one area, found this deli/market I want to go back to probably tomorrow, thinking about bike riding around too. Wonder if I could go down to South Philly that way? I guess I'll enjoy the weekend, again looking forward to next week and seeing everyone... |

So it's been exactly two weeks today from when I first moved to the city, almost feels like it's been longer than that. I'm getting used to it, though this week is different than last week. Last week we had class all day, I really liked that and getting to know everyone and hang out during the day with people. This week we're only there a couple hours or more if we have lab in the morning, and there's no class on Fri. So I'm trying to see if people want to get together and study. I think tomorrow I'm going to study with some people after class which should be good. Hopefully some people can do stuff like study on weekends, or just hang out, or else during the week. And I might see who can do studying when, and do some with different people. Have to figure that out.
And yesterday our teacher said we are going to be known as the class with 7 guys. In the one before ours, there was one (who is our lab assistant), the couple before that I think were all women. It was definitely interesting to see all these guys in the class the first day. And in this class, we're really getting into the anatomy and some physiology of the nervous system, which was hard for me when I had it in anatomy and physiology 1. Though this seems a little easier, the community college where I took it was really hard since they had a lot of nursing students.
Like I'll have to see if the guy I sit next to in class is around during the week to study and if he would want to study at some point. I guess we'll all have to plan something, everyone lives in different parts of the city or outside the city so that could be hard. Then the next course is physiology, which should be ok, but that's only in the morning. Then I'll have to figure out what I'm going to do with those days in the afternoon. It still would be cool to go to Atlantic City Aug 1 or 2 when the American Idols tour is going to be there. Even just to see what it's like in the summertime... |

I'm really looking forward to next week. I didn't do anything the whole weekend, actually I did some school work which is probably good since we'll have a lot for next week and this next course. Although this course is a different schedule from the one we just had, I won't be there as much, but maybe I'll still get to see the people I want to see as we get stuff set up like study groups and stuff. And maybe hang out with people on weekends or even during the week...
I think last week was really cool and fun since we were there the whole day. It was tiring and some of the stuff wasn't that interesting, but it was nice being with everyone for the whole day and really getting a chance to get to know people. I think I'm going to get up to Temple early tomorrow to take care of some things, get to the class a little early too...But I'll be with them for a couple hours, get to see everyone next week. Maybe I'll make plans for next weekend too? |

weekends I'm not really doing anything this weekend. Hopefully that changes by the upcoming weekends, I would think we're going to have a lot of schoolwork, but other than that too, I'd love to get together with others from the program. I guess I'll talk to them this week. Looking forward to Mon, though we only have class for two hours Mon/Wed/Fri and then have lab on Tues and Thurs. Also, we're not even sure we have class on Fri. I'll see if I can talk to people about studying together or setting something up, I think some people are going to.
Wonder what everyone does on weekends, I'll just have to talk to them when I see them on Mon. I guess I have time too, I'll probably hang out with people over the next 2 years, study with people, stuff like that. We did just start, so it's going to take time to get used to and everything. I've done some reading for Mon too which is good, this next course will be a little harder I think since I don't remember a lot of it from anatomy and physiology 1. Then physiology should be a little easier for me since I just took anatomy and physiology 2. It was fun at the end of that course to study with the different people, I'm hoping we do that in this program. I'd be up for doing stuff during the week, on weekends, we would have to find some location a lot of people can get to. People really come to Temple from all over so that should be interesting.
Last week was fun, I really enjoyed meeting everyone and going through the class with them, going to ride the subway with people after class...the people I've been sitting around in class, I'm now in the back row which is interesting since I usually sit close to the front, although in some prerequisites I didn't always do that. It gave me something to do too, I'm not sure what I'm going to do all day when these courses are in the morning or for 2 hours in the afternoon, I guess I'll do work and other things I have to do. I could email some people already to try to get something set up like a study group... |
