| About: | Peter Jackson's film rendition of Lord of the Rings has boosted many actors into the limelight. It seems you can't go anywhere anymore without getting a glimpse of Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn or Orlando Bloom as Legolas - not to mention Elijah Wood's big, watery blue eyes. We know all about the main-line actors. We know how Orlando came right out of film school to play the poncy elf (sorry, fans - my pure opinion), how Viggo got cast as Aragorn only a bit before shooting, and how Elijah was just eighteen when it all began. What about those actors who were "local talent" for the movies? Australian-born Mark Ferguson was seen for just a few minutes at the beginning of Fellowship of the Ring as Gil-Galad, the Noldorin High King, and went on to be one of a handful who also played as the Witch King. For his roles, he was invited to RingCons 2002 onward, and has wowed people there with his sense of humor and has gained a following of his own. So thus, this community: Boss Elf, a tribute to Mark Ferguson and Gil-Galad. I want everyone who joins this community to have a good time - and to make sure of this, I'm going to set out some specific rules. 1: Politeness is a must. If you can't say something nice, or at least phrase what you have to say in a nice way, then refrain from posting it at all. Flames and flamers will not be tolerated. 2: Fanfiction and other writings are both allowed and encouraged; please be courteous and place all stories, etc. behind a cut. Before the cut, use a standard info/warnings header, such as: Title: Title of your story Author(s): Who wrote it Pairing: Who stars in it Rating: G to R+, for example: bedtime story kids could hear to internet porn Disclaimer: Not required, but often amusing Summary: what the story is about If you happen to not like reading fanfiction, please pay attention to the info headers and NOT click if you believe you’ll be offended. I’ll have final say on what’s offensive, no arguments. FYI, my tolerance for squick is rather high, so it’s doubtful anyone will post something “too far”, unless it’s underage porn. Not allowed here. Sorry. 3: Post graphics and photos if you like. If the graphic is large, again, put it behind an LJ cut. If the pic is at all graphic (think Theban Band), post an appropriate rating. Crediting is both courteous and strongly encouraged. 4: Have fun. Now that wasn't so bad, was it? Now, for some credit where credit is due.
