All-day Bootblack Camp this year at Rio Grande Leather!

This year's weekend event features dynamic speakers from around the country, local talent and a leather contest... and some new additions, including an all-day bootblack camp!
Albuquerque, New Mexico’s leather community once again is planning an exciting weekend of education, entertainment and a contest to choose the next Mr. and Ms. Rio Grande Leather. The event will be held on October 17-19, 2008 at the Sandia Courtyard Hotel and Convention Center.
Lady Hilary, of Vanguard Leather Weekend in San José, California, will be the keynote speaker this year. Joining her will be experienced and innovative presenters from around the country including Mark Frazier of SouthPlains Leatherfest in Dallas; slave alia al’Barakah from the Southwest Leather Conference; Dave Rhodes, editor of The Leather Journal; Lisa Boynton; Master David Walker; The Marine of Vanguard Leather and more. Judges, who will also be presenting an educational workshop, include Jeff Tucker, International Mr. Leather 1994; Malik, Southwest Master 2007; Alexis Blizman, Executive Director of Equality New Mexico; and our current titleholders, crrreature and Daddy Bear.
A special addition this year will be a bootblack Day Camp, with all-day education on bootblacking provided by Cristo Webb, of the Great Lakes Leather Alliance. This hands-on opportunity to learn about bootblacking is limited to 20 and appropriate for people of all skill levels from beginners to experienced bootblacks. (Slots will fill up quickly, so register soon!)
The weekend will again kick off with Albuquerque Shines, a showcase for New Mexican talent, and this year’s offering will have some great new features to surprise and entertain the audience. The contest will be held Saturday night to select the next representatives of the Rio Grande title at this dynamic and fun event.
The popular Bondage Lounge will be back again this year, with time to play, learn and experience the joys of restraints in a more intimate environment. We’ll also have the Eyegasm art show, the annual display and sale of erotic art run by Darla of the Unseen Gallery. There will be great opportunities to shop for leather gear, toys and more in the vendor mart, featuring both returning vendors from previous years and some new faces. Add to that exciting social and play opportunities, a Dia de los Muertos altar to remember our loved ones, time for meditation, classes and more, including some great surprises, so get ready for an amazing weekend!
