fairy tale art icons
here are a bunch of icons I've made from fairy tale art. I didn't do a very good job of noting the artists every time, but most of the pictures were taken from the SurLaLune Fairy Tales Site or from google image search. The quality isn't as good as I would like it to be for a lot of them, but it suffices.

As always, please let me know which, if any, you take. I took a long time finding the images and making them, the least you can do is let me know which ones you're using!

I took the second one from the top row, the first and last from the third row, the first and last from the fourth row, the first one from the fifth row, the first one from the sixth, the second one from the tenth row, the last one from the eleventh row, and the first one from the twelth row :)

They're *gorgeous*!

As a quick question, do you consider these to be icons or bases? Occasionally I'll get the urge to customise one or something, but I know a lot of people don't like it - your thoughts?

I called them icons for the sake of posting because I did a lot of work on these (even though it isn't obvious) to bring them up to the quality I consider good enough for posting... but they aren't true icons, and I have no problem with people customizing them so long as you specify in the credit that I made the base and not the finished icon.

I will certainly do that, and more: I have a set of bases/icons made from fairy tale themed fashion shoots. Admittedly, a fair few of them are Annie Leibovitz's Alice in Wonderland and Wizard of Oz shoots, but those are pretty much modern fairy tales, don't you think? I'll post those as well, if you like.

Yes! That would be fantastic! And also, Alice and Dorothy are counted in our definition, right along with Peter Pan and Wendy. So they fit!
