Definition of the term "Boob Nazi" according to urban dictionary.
1. A person who militantly believes that babies are born to be breastfed, that it's a mother's obligation to give her baby it's birthright through nursing. Strives for education and the destruction of ignorance.
2. Word coined by formula feeding mothers and used in a poor attempt to insult breastfeeding mothers whose success at nursing causes them to feel guilty over giving up and choosing an inferior food.
Like the word "cunt" (ref: "Vagina Monologues"), it has been captured by breastfeeding mothers and used as a term to describe a mother who cares enough to be passionate about giving their children the best and healthiest start in life.

*Is/was your newborn of AT LEAST 3 MONTHS solely breastfed?

*Do you delay solids?
*Do you pump milk for your child while you're away?
*Do you try to avoid pacifiers or bottles?
*Do you plan to nurse past 12 months of age, or are you currently doing so?
*Do you find yourself often "defending" your methods of breastfeeding?
If you answered yes to most of these questions, then you may have been called everything from crazy to perverted to my favorite - "Boob Nazis".
Well, my sister Boob Nazis, I think it's time we had a community of our own.
In exchange for being a part of a community of moms who have boobs and actually know how to use them, you're going to have to deal with periodic rants against things like formula or pacifiers.
If you can't handle that or the community title without being offended, than this is not the place for you.

What the WHO and the AAP say about Breastfeeding.
"Breastfeeding is an unequalled way of providing ideal food for the healthy growth and development of infants; it is also an integral part of the reproductive process with important implications for the health of mothers. A recent review of evidence has shown that, on a population basis, exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months is the optimal way of feeding infants. Thereafter infants should receive complementary foods with continued breastfeeding up to 2 years of age or beyond."
The World Health Organization's policy on Infant and Child Nutrition.
The American Academy of Pediatrics has issued this policy stating that formula feeding increases risk of (among other things) obesity, general illnesses, allergies, respiratory infections, and SIDS. Studies have shown the breastfed baby to have enhanced cognitive development and the breastfeeding mother to return to pre-pregnancy weight faster, to have less postpartum bleeding, and to be at a decreased risk of breast cancer. The AAP also states that breast milk is the ideal source of nutrition for the first 6 months of life and that breastfeeding should continue for at LEAST 12 months, then as long thereafter as mutually desired.</td></tr></table>
