Hi, all!

Now I know we have tons of community members and that most of us are exceptionally busy people. However, wouldn't you all love to see 2008 off with a bang? Show this community that we're still here and ready to celebrate the show that we all adore? *nods* I thought so.

So, now that we're agreed, I offer you all a challenge. No, not the type that we read and judge, but the kind of challenge that drags your sense of "rise to the occasion" to the surface. The kind that makes you say, "Oh, yeah. I can do that, no problem." Because this month, I challenge each and every community member to write something for Bones.

Our Gift to Each Other

This is all about gifting.

Write a story which tells the story of the character's gifts for one another.

Write a random Bones story as a gift for a fellow reader and friend.

As long as it's Bones related, then it's fair game.

You know how this goes, but I'll reiterate anyway. Please post the story to ff.net so that we can archive it in the C2. This month's summary tag is "CBPC Dec".

Have fun and Happy Holidays!

Hey there everyone, it's time to announce another challenge, this one for the month of October. The topic of the month is "A Day in the Life".

You can choose who you want to write about, past or present cast, and write a oneshot about one day in the life of that character. What happens in that day is up to you whether humorous or angst ridden. Again, unless we get a lot of entries, there will be no voting, but I hope that many of you will choose to write something.

Good luck with the challenge, and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. When posting, please put October CBPC in the summary.

Hi! The end of the month is quickly approaching, so I just wanted to remind everyone about this month's prompt. :)

Compromising Situations

Hopefully, this prompt will inspire you to write about one of those scenes that, when you come across it, makes you gasp in surprise and want to slink away unseen. Or, if you're the devilish type, maybe it makes you want to taunt, tease or blackmail the parties involved. No matter what approach you take, we want to read your stories about what happens when the characters of Bones find someone (or maybe two or three someones?) in a compromising situation.

Again, there are no restrictions regarding pairings, ratings or cast members. (Just please be sure to post the ratings properly as we do have younger readers/members.) You may post your stories here, but we'd love to see them cross posted to ff.net so that we can add them to the CBPC Community, as well. Oh, and since this is a prompt instead of a challenge, there isn't really a final deadline. But, we will be posting a new prompt or challenge at the start of next month. :)

Hi, all! It was great to see some entries for last month's prompt! (Sorry, Goldy! I'm still working on mine, but I will get it posted!) So, let's keep the momentum going for September, shall we? This month's prompt is...

Compromising Situations

Hopefully, this prompt will inspire you to write about one of those scenes that, when you come across it, makes you gasp in surprise and want to slink away unseen. Or, if you're the devilish type, maybe it makes you want to taunt, tease or blackmail the parties involved. No matter what approach you take, we want to read your stories about what happens when the characters of Bones find someone (or maybe two or three someones?) in a compromising situation. ;)

This is a prompt only; unless we get a slew of entries, in which case we may judge just for the fun of it. :D Oh, please feel free to pimp the comm on your journals and to your friends. With the new season started, we'd LOVE to get this community back up and running at full tilt!

Happy writing!

hey there everyone, or rather anyone who comes to look at this thread still. I have a rather fun challenge for you for the month of August. Again, there will be no voting on this unless I suddenly get an overwhelming response on this. Considering that the last like three challenges have yielded no response I'm not exactly getting my hopes up.

The challenge for August is as follows: Souvenir Tee Shirt.

Someone or some persons go on vacation and come back with a souvenir tee shirt. The shirt must have a funny or clever saying on it, and there needs to be a story related to said saying. Have fun with this guys. You can post here, Bonesfiction.com or fanfiction.net, I don't care really.

I hope this inspires some of you to write something, and if so, I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

I'm not certain if anyone is actually visiting this thread any longer, but if you are, and you're interested in a challenge, then the onefor June is as follows:

The Wrath of God

Pick any number of people in the cast and put them in the midst of a natural disaster. How do they handle it? There are a couple of things that must be included. Someone gets trapped and injured, and one other person has to help in some way with rescue efforts.

I'm not limiting this to a one shot if anyone wants to write a full story on this idea, and as only Siapom seems to have done a challenge piece for last month, there will be no judging for this month.

I want to see what you can do with this, and please make this as realistic as possible. That means that if say Angela were trapped in a building under debris, it shouldn't be Hodgins going in to rescue her. I wans to see real life situations and what you can do with it.

The challenge will run through this time in July, at which time another will be posted. Good luck to everyone, and I hope that this will inspire someone to write something.

Hi, all! Just a reminder that posting is open for this month's challenge...

Oh, Alcohol – i.e. What happens when massive quantities of alcohol are consumed by a member (or members) of the team?

[info]bertie456 and I are sincerely looking forward to seeing and reading tons of submissions, so happy writing & posting!

Edited to add: Please also remember to post your stories with a summary that starts with "CBPC May". If you've already posted without that little tag, please let me know so that I can find the story and archive it in the comm. Thanks!

Okay, people. I'm here with our dear friend and devoted BONES fanfic writer, [info]bertie456, to post this month's challenge. We've decided to loosen the reigns...and the inhibitions...to see just what kind of trouble our team of Squintz + Agent can get into. So, your story challenge is this:

Oh, Alcohol – i.e. What happens when massive quantities of alcohol are consumed by a member (or members) of the team?

The rules? There are no rules! (Other than follow the challenge, of course.) That's it. Everything else is up to you. Setting, characters, fluff, no fluff... It doesn't matter to us, so long is it gets your imagination flowing and your fingers typing. Have fun!

As always, all stories must be posted over on ff.net. Entries will be accepted from May 23 through May 31. Of course, if you want to x-post to your journal, that's fine, too. Just make sure it hits ff.net for official entry.

Happy writing! :D

We're going to try something a bit different. Judged Challenges won the vote, so those are going to stay...sort of. One idea posted was to switch off between challenges and prompts, so we're going to give that a try. As each main judge starts the month, it'll be up to her to decide how she wants to set everything up.

This month, we're having a Judged Challenge. I'm hoping to have a topic posted in the next day or two. And I will make sure that the results are promptly posted after the end of the month. NOTE: We have an unwritten rule that if we have 3 or fewer entries, we don't rank those entries. So, I hope to see tons of entries this month. The more the better! :)

Also, I'm going to see what I can find out about the previous challenge results. I'm sure Goldy has them around... Unless the little one ate them. Babies put all sorts of things in their mouths. *crosses fingers that the baby didn't eat the results*

Poll #1165943 Community Participation - What Changes Do We Need To Make?
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All

Due to the trickle of responses we've been receiving for the challenges, we would like to find out how you want to see this community go forward, if at all. Would you like to see us keep the monthly challenges, which are judged, or instead just create monthly prompts for stories that are not judged? Would you like to see a different format for either of those choices? Or, would you prefer that we just let the comm whither away? *sniffles at the thought* We would really like to get everyone involved! So, we're leaving it up to you, our readers and writers. Please let us know what you think. As always, your comments are welcome, as well.

As some of you may know, I had a computer meltdown a ways back; and, with it went my list for co-judge volunteers. So while we're awaiting the winners announcement for last month and the new challenge for this month, would those of you willing to co-judge be kind enough to let me know? *flinches* Again. It's greatly appreciated. And this time I promise to backup the list. *crosses heart* Oh! Please be sure to include the best way to reach you. You don't need to post it here if you don't want to have the info announced to the public. Feel free to send me an e-mail. My e-mail is listed on my ff.net profile. :)

For those new to the community: First - Thank you sooo much for joining in! We love to see new faces around here. :) Second - As an fyi, to keep things fair we generally use two judges each month - one from a core list of judges (i.e. the mods) and another that is a volunteer. The plus side is that it can really be fun to get to read all of the stories and, generally, help pick that month's challenge topic. The only downside is that, depending upon how many entries we receive, it can take some time to score all of the stories. Plus, if you submit a story for that month, it won't be eligible for placement. Otherwise, I'd like to think the co-judges in the past have rather enjoyed themselves with this little project. :D

Lastly, since I have spent the past several months studying for the Series 7, I haven't been quite as in touch as I normally would be. So, I don't know if everyone has received their winning user pics. If you haven't, feel free to give an angry shout out. I've gotten past the exam, so I've got time to make sure you all get the pretties that you so very much deserve! :)

Anyway, enough with my ramblings. Thanks to everyone for being here! Hugs!

Hey guys, this is just to remind you that the entry period for February has begun for this month's challenge. To reiterate, the challenge is THE FULL MONTY. That's right, nakedness is the feature. The story must contain nakedness in some form, however it cannot contain sex, nor can it be rated M.

Entries are accepted through February 29th at midnight. This month's judges are myself and Bella-Mi-Amore. Good luck and we look forward to your entries.

First of all, thank you to the three people who submitted a piece for January's challenge. Your entries are much appreciated. With that out of the way, here's the topic for February.....

THE FULL MONTY

That's right, nakedness rules this month. You can write whatever you want so long as it features nakedness. There are a couple of rules though, it cannot have sex in it, and it has to remain at a T or lower rating. Have fun with this and I can't wait to see what y'all come up with.

Rules of Engagement
As always, please put CBPC February in your summary so that we can correctly categorize the stories, secondly, the posting period is from February 19th through the 29th. Gotta love the leap year.

I hope many of you will rise to the challenge, and I look forward to the entries. Judges for the month will be announced later.
