About
Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, nestled in the beautiful Manistee National Forest in Michigan's western lower peninsula, is a summer camp offering music, art, dance, and theater programs for talented young people, who come from all parts of the country and all walks of life. Blue Lake was founded by Fritz Stansell in 1963, modeled after his grandfather's Arens Art Colony. Blue Lake officially opened its doors in 1966, when 56 campers arrived. Over the years, Blue Lake has expanded to include an International Exchange Program as well as serve 5,000 campers annually.
Hey YOU in the Blue! This community is for Blue Lakers of the past, present, and future, and from all walks of Blue Lake society as well - including campers (of course!), staff and faculty members, the public who came for a concert in the woods. However, this community is not maintained by or associated with Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp: Any opinions expressed here are the user's own and do not reflect BLFAC's opinions in any way, shape, or form.
