    (Another) Job interview update
Sorry for posting about this three times in 24 hours but i just had to thank everyone for their positives vibes and messages...

    I GOT THE JOB!!!

Oh what a wonderful feeling being able to ring my existing boss to say i was leaving! I love him and my (very small team) very much but we are all so demotivated and hate the job right now - im so pleased to be leaving and to do something i really, really want to do :)

For those who sent messages re the pay rise and getting it to cover travel expenses etc....well, they have offered me slightly more than they were wanting to (i will be getting a £2k payrise) but i will still be about £450 a year worse off. However, having spent 18 months of hell in this current role, including time off with stress and a (previous) manager who made my life unbearable, well i couldnt care less about £450. Its worth more than that to be in a job i love and look forward to going into work every morning.

SQUEEEEEEEE (i havent stopped squeeing since they rang an hour ago!!)

    Survived
Not only did i survive but have had a bloody marvellous time. A proper update later as i really need to grab a disco nap before going to see The Mummy with [info]juxtimon and [info]staticgirl, but in the meantime here are some highlights:

    1. Amazing meal and Jazz evening at Cafe Portebleue in Verteuil sur Charente. Yes we had Stef's mum and a couple of her friends with us but it was just about as romantic as romantic can be. A perfect, perfect evening with fab music in a fantastic restaurant overlooked by the most beautiful chateau.

    2. Thunderstorm last night. OMG. People use the word awesome far too often these days. When i say that this was awesome i truly mean it. I have never, ever seen anything like it and it was one of the best things i have ever seen in my life. The lightning wasnt in forks, it literally lit up the whole sky...we tumbled out of bed and stumbled our way through the dark into one of the farmhouses fields to watch it. Amazing. Awe-inspiring. Romantic. Fucking rocked. It did, however, go on for nearly 5 hours by which time we were cursing it as we got no sleep whatsoever...

    3. Hare/ Yes i saw a hare running through the fields. Im not sure ive ever seen one before so i was all excited.

    4. Stef's mums farmhouse in Bizon. The house is slowly being done up. The grounds are fantastic....big barns full of wood, an orchard, huuuge fields. And the best thing? The peace and quiet. You cant hear a damn thing...apart from the noise of the secadas, or the hedgehogs, the hornets (meep), the dragonflys...perfect.

    5. The stars The farmhouse is in the middle of nowhere. Literally. I think Bizon must have about 5 houses..so the amount of stars you can see is amazing.

    6. The people Ive been made so welcome and fed so much wine....

    7. Lezay Market I went to a proper French market!!! So coooool...i have pictures....

Now i realise im getting carried away and im not going to have time for a kip....

Oh it was stupidly hot. About 30/32 degrees. And it was raining when we landed here. What a comedown....

    Weekend
Wow, that was a busy weekend.

Friday: Went to see Kasabian in Wolverhampton with Samina, Lisa, Nads and Graham. Not the biggest Kasabian fan but i do like a gig so i said i'd go with them. Realised i knew far more of their songs than i thought i did and enjoyed the music although they don't do anything very exciting on stage or interact much with the audience. Went to the pub and came home.
Saturday: Went over to [info]emma_emily's, got very, very drunk and played Singstar and quiz games on the Wii. Enjoyed catching up with [info]jenova_red and Chris, both of whom i haven't seen for a while and meeting [info]dengel3000 who helps drunken me win quizzes and take credit and also [info]bionicgeekgrrl's new partner who does fantastic voices.
Sunday: Went for the best Chinese ever (BBQ Village, Station St) with Samina and Lisa for Sam's birthday. Really recommend that restaurant, amazing food and the nicest staff i've ever met. Got chatting to a waitress called Yuan-Yuan who is looking for a rich man to keep her - find one with a brother for me will you?
Monday: Went to see the parents.
Tuesday: Went shopping with [info]topping_tons, had yummy appley cake in Druckers and paid a stupid amount for parking cuz my usual car park was shut (it still is, don't ask what i have been through trying to get out of there without having to pay given that i have a pass and all!). Popped back to her house and saw Ari who told me all about nursery, her Aladdin DVD and the ice-cream she'd eaten which turned out to be imaginary ice-cream that looked and tasted like pears. Got a cuddle from Bronwyn who managed not to cry at all when she was with me - RESULT!

    I saw Front 242 :D
And a good helping of And One, Noisuf-X and loads more with lots of dancing piled on top for good measure.  There was a bit of Aftershock too which should tell you I was in a good mood cos I only drink when I am.  Infest was fantastic - more detail later, I am tired now but this year I will post.

Small embarrassment - Don't Krash, a big favourite of mine, I have always mistakenly attributed to Cabaret Voltaire originally isn't theirs at all. I checked online and that was wrong.  I could be forgiven though as I have loads of vinyl by both bands bought at the same time and I am terrible with band and song names, so the mistake will have originated years ago.  At least I can admit to it ;p

It is still bonus of the night for me though because it is such a favourite.
