AboutThis community is for the vampire series Blood Ties, specifically, detailed recaps and commentaries about the episodes, and any discussion that might grow from there.
My hope is to keep conversation going about the series. Supposedly the issue of renewal is still up in the air with Lifetime, so these entries might serve a few purposes:
- For anyone who hasn’t seen the episodes, here’s a way to know what happened.
- When BT is (hopefully) renewed, people can review episodes and details in anticipation of a new season.
- Review episodes while waiting for DVDs come out in North America, and even after; with repeat viewings, new details and perspectives often arise (also for those in the UK and elsewhere who already have the DVDs).
- As a last resort, if the show doesn’t continue – well, then it’ll be a remembrance.
I freely admit that the main style of these recaps is similar to those done elsewhere on a very popular site, but they don’t cover Blood Ties, and they don’t have as much personal commentary. Besides, I don’t think there’s a copyright on snark! Blood Ties has snark, I enjoy snark ... let there be snark. Despite that factor, I wouldn’t invest the time this all takes other than from love of this show. I’ll be honest about my opinions, but bottom line – I love the show.
One more note: The first season is complete and I have seen it all, but I won’t be writing as if I had. In other words, I'll do my best not to spoil future episodes or events in any given commentary. Likewise, I’d appreciate that any comments be limited to the episode in question and/or earlier ones. Oh – and language may be R-rated. Just a disclaimer, in case anyone minds.
