You can't go wrong with riani1's Nessuno. Set in 15th century Rome, Xander is a naive novice priest and Spike is a swashbuckling soldier of fortune. Stir in The Borgias, some evil doing and a lot of UST and you've got the perfect AU. Sounds weird, but believe me, it's perfect.

Or for something altogether different, try Model Angel 'verse by strickens_girl. Don't worry about the title - Spike is in there, in spades!

Affected by winterlive finds teenage Xander in London, fixating on punk lead singer Spike - stuff happens *g*

And finally, if you like a little D/s with your coffee, check out toobusy2write's scorching Wip, Subspace. It's Spike/Angel, but Xander is in there as one of Spike's best friends along with Lindsey. It's just brilliant.
