IM Kirasha Urqhart if you need help finding us.

ETA: Our DJ had to call it a night and the party's wound down. But, thank you to everyone that showed up! There were several donations made at the club and lots of fun. You guys are awesome. :-D

Photo Scavenger Hunt?

I'm considering posting one at 4:30. If you're interested, stop by the blog for details!!

Site Change

Hey all~!

Just wanted to give everyone a (late) heads up that Imagine This has had to move due to a server host with bad maintenance timing. We are now posting for the event at http://community.livejournal.com/er_imaginethis/

And so far no one's attempted to answer any of the trivia questions, there's at least one in there that has a $5 pledge associated with it for the first to get the correct answer. Any takers? ;-D (You can always go back and answer old questions until a winner is announced.)

Blogathon extras

  • Jul. 26th, 2008 at 7:52 AM
Last year I had a blast with the blogathon radio station and the IRC chat. Are either of those running this year?

Montreal Gazette Article Published

  • Jul. 26th, 2008 at 6:42 AM
I did a phone interview with a Montreal Gazette reporter on Tuesday night about the Blogathon. The article was published in this morning's paper:

Dad to pull comic-book all-nighter for charity

The article ends with a link to DayofBlogs.org, so I'm hoping that everyone gets a few more visitors out of this (and maybe a sponsor or two).

Close to Last Minute~

HEEEEELLLLOOOOOOOOO FELLOW BLOGATHONERS!

This will be my first year doing Blogathon!

I'm going to be blogging for the Human Rights Campaign!
I believe that everyone should be treated equally and I believe that the organization that helped me can do a lot to help others!
So- I haven't got a theme as of yet.... I'm probably going to be posting a bunch of random stuff- fics, drabbles, poems, drawings, pictures, and probably one or two voice posts later in the day!
It will all be under [info]shiruartist the journal I designed an hour before blogathon started FOR Blogathon- [info]shiru_blogathon without the cautionary filters of a wary corporation out there for everyone to see! (If you're over 14 ^,~)

Oh! Maybe our theme will be GAY! From just plain happy to just plain homosexual!
:D
WELL~ Come and find out for yourselves what I decide upon! ^-^
There's still about 9.5 more hours for me to change my mind!

Introduction

Hey there *waves* I'm Erica and this is my second year participating in the blogathon (for the curious my posts from last year are here). This year I'll be blogging for the ASPCA. My posts will all be summer theme-centric with an image mosaic, personal anecdotes, links of interest, and icons.

Good luck everyone! I look forward to browsing through people's blogs tomorrow :3

Late to the Party

  • Jul. 25th, 2008 at 7:19 AM
I knew I kept forgetting something! Forums, sites...LJ! LOL

I'm JL, from Imagine This, where I blog with my friend Adrianne on behalf of the Association for International Cancer Research. This will be my sixth year participating in Blogathon or one of it's alternates.

This year we are writing on a Fantasy/Science Fiction theme, a sort of introduction to the genres and our favorites in books/movies/etc. There will be trivia and a few prizes, plus a party in Second Life. Lots to do to keep us interested and awake! LOL

Good luck everyone! *hugz*

Introduction and looking for Okies

  • Jul. 24th, 2008 at 5:25 PM
Hi, I am Aurora and this will be my third year doing blogathon. I am so glad someone took this over so that we have it this summer.  I am blogging for the National Fibromyalgia Association.  I am suffering from his disorder as well two other members in my family as well as several friends.  Are there any other Okies doing the blogathon?  Especially in the OKC area?

I keep forgetting to do this.

Hi! I'm Jenna, and I'm blogging for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital For Children. I have a personal connection to them, as they saved my life for free about 15 years ago, and I figure that's worth a day (and night) of sleeplessness.

As I am spectacularly uncreative when it comes to inventing things from scratch, I'm writing autobiographical flash-non-fiction in response to prompts. You're welcome to come along for the ride.

You can pledge, prompt me, and find out how to donate here.

Media Coverage

  • Jul. 22nd, 2008 at 11:16 PM
I've been pestering local radio stations and newspapers with news about the Blogathon, and somebody from the Montreal Gazette took the bait! An article promoting the Blogathon should appear in Saturday's paper - hopefully that will inspire the readers to donate to the many worthy charities supported by the Blogathoners.

Shop for a good cause!

  • Jul. 22nd, 2008 at 8:29 AM
*waves* You may remember my schtick: posting flash fiction every half hour based on artifacts donated by amazing artists, and auctioning said artifacts off.

Auctions are up.

Each of these will get a story on Saturday; auctions run through Monday. All proceeds go to the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center.

Me and my charity

  • Jul. 22nd, 2008 at 6:35 AM
Hello friends, my name is Hilary and I'm blogging for Amnesty International. Amnesty is an organization I've been a part of for a long time so the choice was pretty obvious. In high school I headed my school chapter and unfortunately I've let my activism wane in college due to other obligations. Maybe this is my way of assuaging my guilt over not being active anymore :P

Amnesty International is a human rights organization that is active worldwide. They have numerous campaigns including preventing violence against women and freeing political prisoners. The amazing thing about Amnesty is that if you're a human rights activist, you can basically find a campaign for whatever your particular in interest is. They do it all (or just about).

So thanks for reading and please consider pledging. I'm willing to trade pledges :)

greetings, all.
my name is melissa and i will be blogging this year for Kristin Brooks Hope Center (1.800.SUICIDE).

i participated last year for the first time, and it was a very ::ahem:: interesting experience. there are a few things i plan to change this year (like sleeping the day before) and hopefully providing more interesting content than the sleep-deprived slap-happy antics of last summer.

i wasn't sure if i would be participating this year because of other tentative plans, but i find myself in this place and i believe this is what i should be doing. sometimes when you aren't sure which way to go, you should just stay where you are. and that is what i am doing.

if any other bloggers are interested in sponsoring me or trading sponsorship, please contact me!

24 reasons to live

  • Jul. 21st, 2008 at 8:15 PM
Hi all, I'm Ellen, and I will be blogging in the Day of Blogs this year for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in memory of several people I have lost to suicide: my father, my friend Krystle ([info]sad_little_scar) and Anna R. ([info]kiota), and in support of others who have lost family members and dear friends and all of those who are still struggling with suicidal feelings.

My theme will be "24 reasons to live" and I'm planning to arrange my posts loosely around that theme. I'm hoping to get some conversations going, not only about depression and suicide but also about a number of other topics (fandom, the U.S. presidential race, etc.) over the course of the 24 hours.

I participated in the official blogathons for 2006 and 2007, and couldn't bring myself to miss it this year.

Yet another newb.

Hello, I'm Amie. I have been wanting to participate in Blogathon for a few years, but I always forget about it until it's too late. And usually, I had to work anyway (although I did sponsor each time!). Well, I'm not working now, and I've already got a pretty screwy sleep schedule, so I've signed up to blog for World Wildlife Fund. I don't know what I'm offering, yet, but I'm sure I will think of something. :)
Hi, I'm Tory, also known as Letterblade, and I'm a big dorky fangirl. This is my second time around; last year I blogged for Heifer Project International and wrote Harry Potter fanfiction that made people cry.

This year, I am blogging for Planned Parenthood, because the contraception stuff that's been floating around Congress? Scares the bejeezus out of me. During Blogathon, I will be spamming my internets with assorted fanfiction, mostly in the Marvel universe, because, well, it may not be most people's cup of tea, but it's what I do best, and I might as well do some good with it!

My pledge-gathering post is here. See you all on the Day of Madness Blogs!
