OMG,.....

I just found out that Jara, again passed away...... *crying*

If you didn't know her, she was the mod at blend_it.

She was such a wonderful & caring person. She had been fighting heart disease for such a long time & she was always able to persevere and be strong......

She will be missed.

After much soul searching and actually talking with my co-moderator Deb, I've come to the conclusion that I just can't give up on blendage that easily. If you have no idea what I'm talking about take a look at this post HERE

So for the time being, I'm putting the community on Haitus, until things kind of sort themselves out not only with Deb and me, but with you guys as well.

So please do not defriend the community, because we're only taking a short break.

As always, if you guys have any questions, comments, concenrs, you can always e-mail Deb & me at blendage@hotmail.com, and who knows if we get enough replies, we can bring back the community to active status much quicker! :)

First of all, because there were only five entries in the last challenge, there was only one award that I was going to give out & that was for Viewer's Choice & the winner is:

Now on to more serious business.

I've really dreaded making this post, because although I didn't want to admit it to myself it seems inevitable that it would happen.

I think it's time for me to leave blendage.

I've been maintaining the community for about 2 years and a half now and though I've really enjoyed posting challenges, making awards and seeing you guys improve overtime, I think that my time as owner of this community has come to a end.

I know that you guys are busy with school and/or work, but the lack of participation lately has been disheartning. Don't get me wrong, this isn't the reason why I'm making this decision, because in all honesty I just think it's time for me to move on.

I would really hate to see this community just die out as so many other blending sites here in LJ have done, and what I would like at this point is to know if there is anybody out there that would like to take over the handling of the community. If you’re interested, then let me know and we'll talk about arrangements & what have you....

This is an open challenge called "Icons".

For this challenge I want you all to create a blend centered on someone who you beleive to be an icon.

icon
One who is the object of great attention and devotion; an idol: “He is a pop icon designed and manufactured for the video generation”

This could be a movie star, a singer, or just about anybody at all. It doesn't nessicaraly have to be somebody recent from our current time, but it could be somebody from the most recent past.

Some examples would be:
Audrey Hepburn
Marylin Monroe
Madonna

You have free reign on the pictures you would like to use (celebrities, stock photo's, etc.), just remember to be creative.

The Rules
1. Please remember to follow the community rules.
2. Please include the name of the community ( blendage ) on the blend somewhere.
3. Please do not enter a previously made blend. This must be a new blend created especially for this challenge.

Either than that, go crazy!

**Note: This challenge was brought to you by a suggestion that I tweaked from deppthinking that was made at the feedback suggestion post and also because I know a lot of you wanted and or really liked the Blend of the Month Challenges.

Attention!

Just to let you all know the Lost Season 3 Icon Challenge has been extended until Monday, October 2nd due to lack of participation.

I'm not sure why I'm getting so few entries. Are people busy with other things? Is it just the kind of challenge? I want to hear from you guys, so e-mail us at blendage@hotmail.com and let us know what you want to see or why there hasn't been much participation. We need responses from our members! I totally understand if people are busy, being almost completely overwhelmed myself with AP and college courses and a job, so you guys need to let us know if you think you need a break or something. Let us know.
