Plushie-gasm! Me want so much!

He's already betrothed to another, alas. Pheleon is exhausted from making his wings or I'd get her to make one for my Szayel-crazy friend Justine. I'm having fantasies of a plushie with tentacles big and strong enough to grab my Renji and Ishida plushies and wave them around like flags. (Wouldn't that be the sight?) I want to send Kubo-sensei an army of delicately-crafted plushies of his less popular yet utterly squishable characters like Shinji, Hanatarou, Keigo, Wonderweiss. Oh I would love to own a Tesla plush or at the very least, a decent Orihime plush.

There is no official Orihime plush--isn't that shocking? I made my own "Unhappy Hueco Mundo Hime" for my daughter last year but the cats appropriated her.


Tomorrow is Tanabata 7/7 and guess what? I didn't write a Tanabata story this year. So I guess I'll fan-blather about the manga.

Is the Hueco Mundo arc over? The blurb in Shounen Jump before the flashbacks started said that the arc was over, only it referred to the preceding chapters as the "Arrancar arc." What's this one now going to be called? Right now, it's conveniently being referred to as "post-flashback chapters" since we don't know what's going to happen yet, but it's clear that the story that began with Orihime's going to HM is far from over. There are still endless possibilities for further parallels to the Soul Society rescue arc. 

I've heard a lot of fans refer to the adventure in Hueco Mundo as the "Nakama arc" and someone the other day asked me why people called it that.

No, it's not that Bleach has suddenly become One Piece, but Kubo-sensei has really hit the friendship theme hard in this part of the story. Before the five rescuers set off to Hueco Mundo, Kubo made sure we got this.

Whatever shall I do... no spoilers to look forward to this week. I thought about doing a gaiden retrospective and presenting for you close-up panels of all the baby characters presented and calling it BLEACH THE WONDER YEARS but I decided to make a less lame entry and show you some pix you MAY have not seen before.

I recently purchased one of pheleon's unique and amazing plushies for a friend's birthday and pheleon took a pic of Renji and Ichigo saying goodbye to said plushie:




You guys have seen the latest volume cover from Kubo-sensei right? This one is going to sell.



There was an IchiRuki festival in Tokyo recently, the second this year, at which doujinshi groups sold their books and fans met to cosplay.  I always crave doujinshi but there were all these other stuffs I wanted from there too.




Mezzo found another comic based on Kubo's already infamous color spread with the turkey leg and innuendo. A little IshiHime perviness this time. I'm so happy Japan hasn't forgotten my favorite pairing.



Oh, and people always ask me how I survive reading all fanforums I do. Simple mantra: "All people are valuable; all opinions are not valid."
I injured some internal organs laughing this week. It's going to be a fun summer for the fandom. I hope all of you at Comic Con this July 26 will take good pix and good notes because I'll be in a day-long boring training session to be a voting commissioner for my city's next elections. Blow kisses at Kubo-sensei for me.

I don't consider my primary Bleach fan identity to be "IchiRuki shipper" and I ship a lot of ships and play in a lot of fandoms, particularly yaoi ones but because I believe IchiRuki is Kubo-sensei's ship and I've written some essays to that effect, I'm busy in the IchiRuki FC and I do love that fandom and lots of my Bleacher homeboys are there. Here's a doujin Annie sent me for winning some contest and I promised I'd share. I have another racier one (by Utsumaki Garden) scanned but I just closed the window where I uploaded and once my brain returns to me this week I'll give it to you.

Support your hard-working doujinshi artists and buy their books whenever you can. On pages 7-8 of the thread linked above you can read reports from the 2nd IchiRuki Festival in Tokyo this year. At the first festival a few months ago over fifty doujinshi groups sold their works.

By the way folks, I FINALLY HAVE THAT ICHIRUKI AND ISHIHIME HENTAI DOUJIN SCANNED. I'll have a link in a friends-only post this weekend. Sorry for the enormous wait. My husband has ADHD of the worst sort and the doujin was lost in one of his three book bags last semester. Right after that, I have another softcore IchiRuki doujin to upload for you. I just finished scanning it.

Suppose I might as well plug myself over here. Here's some links to the first two chapters of an anthology series that I'm writing. All chapters are Ichigo-centric with varying degrees of IchiRuki. Summary: Whether or not the bizarre visions Ichigo saw were dreamed or not, the fear he felt was definitely real.
Genre: General. Some drama, some humor, some cyber-punk, some time travel, a little action, some romance. Yeah. General.
Note: My takes on Alternate Universe fics. I've seen others write stories like this...but I'm doing it my way. Each chapter is basically a self-contained story, with its own ending and beginning, although there are recurring elements enough for me to group these together. This fic is done as part of a challenge/ death match with laurie_bunter. Check out her story when she finally finishes it.

I want to sing her that Roberta Flack song "I heard he sang a good song, I heard he had a style...." because I wandered into her yaoi on a let-skim day and left with goosebumps, a romantic awed feeling, and thrill bubbles up my spine. I'll never stop loving the boy-loving dark waters of fanfiction if only because there are so many good slash writers out there. The IchiRuki essay contest is hopping over at Bleach Asylum, and it seems that Annie and I have done well by our threats of withholding doujinshi from the masses if they don't write so some great essays are coming through. One I have to admit great prejudice for but I'm only reproducing it here because it's so damn funny as well as logical and I thought it might appeal to Bleach fans in general not just shippers. I hope you enjoy this piece by mezzo_marinaio:

A fun tidbit someone noticed the other day when discussing shipping was that Ichigo has yet to say "I'm going to save Orihime" in the HM arc the way he said so many times with so much conviction and passion in the SS arc about Rukia. Sure, he mentioned that he was going to bring her back in a list with his other nakama but it wasn't that singular "I will save Orihime." Then someone pointed out that instead, in the infamous much debated When The Sun Turned Around for the Moon Chapter 270, Ichigo actually did the say words again about Rukia.

Yup. He said. "I'm going to save Rukia" in a crucial moment in Orihime's own rescue arc.

I don't know why I still like to keep arguing these points because it's game, set, and match as far as I'm concerned for IchiRuki but we'll see. Someone out there has to think of something humiliating for me to do if Kubo goes IchiOri and I'll promise to do it if he does.

Oh, and finally, I just have to spazz over one thing. Everyone knows my pet (het) pairing is IshiHime. Okay it's my favorite pairing even over Ishida/Ishida or any other yaoi combo. Everyone knows my pairing hasn't had any canon interaction for months and I'm hanging by a thread here just waiting for Kubo-sensei to pick up the stitch from SS and reunite that pair. But dang, people, what's this I hear now from IchiOri fans about Ishida discounting Orihime's powers and Ichigo being the only one who understands her and commends her for her healing power? Wut?

The following post was written as an entry in current Bleach Asylum IchiRuki FC essay contest but I'm taking it out of the running for a prize since I won the last essay contest and I'm going to feel really guilty if Annie spends any more postage on me. C'mon folks, write some stuff! Last time there were some essays way better than mine.

Speaking of postage, here's a looky at some of my recent Bleach loot from Annie, Laurie, and Spacecat this month. Some of it was for coming in 4th in the BA art contest, some for winning the IchiRuki essay contest, and Laurie sent me some Bleach stickers just cuz (plus some Hime-like jewelry she thought was totally me!). I will scan the IchiRuki doujinshi asap! And that half-nekky Ishida poster is so going up over my desk--thanks for that Spacey, and thanks guys for cheering me up this month with Bleach chotzkies.




And now the little ole essay. As always, polite discourse encouraged and yeah, this is shippy stuff but my family honor isn't insulted if you disagree with me. Please, just plainly state what points you are disagreeing with and don't, as one person on a forum did recently, launch into a tirade intending to disqualify all my opinions on the basis that I'm carrying on a delusional love affair with Kubo Tite. Another drabble, or little ficlet that I'd like to share in here. It's an idea that just sprang to my head the other night. It's my interpretation of Ichigo's relationship with the main female characters, and where Kubo could be going with them.

I don't follow the Bleach anime regularly anymore, but I tune in for good fights (Ichigo versus Grimm the Hedgehog last week) and for the little shipping controversies that keep me off the streets and away from "abridged editions" of anime on YouTube. This morning I awoke to such a ruckus that I thought for a moment that Isshin's Gotei 13 position had been revealed, but no, it was only that episode 167 had changed a little bit of the manga to slant the story into a more (shoujo-shoujo-shoujo) Ichigo x Orihime bent.


And yes, others got into the act and we were in one another's shoutboxes all this morning because there were no spoilers and we are goofy children, heaven help us.

Just a friendly answer since so many people keep asking is it okay to post this or that in here--IF IT'S BLEACH-RELATED, IT'S OKAY! Geebers, people, am I that scary? Now, I will remind you that this journal and community started off as my writing journal for my own Bleach fanfic and fanart and that it, bleachness  , along with my website is a primary hosting place for my fanworks, but I also meant for this LJ community to be a COMMUNITY of all things bleachness, that includes discussions, links to others' fanworks, general oohing and ahhing and squeeing and ranting about the manga and anime and voice actors and whatnot.


Ever since MY OBSCENE AND CARNIVOROUS SZAYEL was censored cruelly in this week's anime, I've been taking it out on people's grammar (honestly, dudes, you don't know how much I hold myself back all the time but when you have a BIAS, you are not a bias forum wastebucket, you are a biased forum wastebucket).

Oh yeah yeah yeah, there was a summary of 314 from lovely Annie today. 

I won the IchiRuki essay contest over at BA which makes me feel bad because 1) I was never a hardcore IchiRuki shipper to begin with (just a manga reader who thought the relationship was as obvious as a blue sky) and 2) Annie's going to waste postage sending me the prize when she already just sent me a bunch of presents from Japan out of the goodness of her heart. IN ANY EVENT, never fear, I will scan the IchiRuki doujin I'm getting for the prize and share with everyone andmelodymix will translate it! YEY!
