Ju-Ni will keep going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stormbringer says that they have work out a new group and things are working out!!!!!!!!!!

Ju-Ni will shut down their site!

Ju-ni will shut down as their translator resign and half the staff don't like Stormbringer anymore. At least that is what she/he wrote.

The following is some written responses on Ju-Ni's shoutbox from Stormbringer.

  • stormbringer : Plus, it's not based on my decision ... I was presented with the fact that we're dead as it seems I've been declared as "Persona non Grata" by the better part of the staff. [Storm on how the decision was taken]
  • stormbringer : As our translator already resigned - I don't think so. [Storm responding to a person that asked if the problems could be resolved.]

Here is a link to their official post regarding this matter.

Today is a sad day for a lot of Bleach fans. We will mourn Ju-Ni and it will be remembered for their great scans and awesome work.

Now, does anybody know someone who does great scans with perfect translation?

Excuse me while I go cry in my corner.
    Breaking news!!!!

    There might be some hope!!!!

Don't take this for granted ... but let's give it a try ...

At the time of writing I fired the two guys who were responsible for the bust ... or better ... attempted rebellion to bust the group and run with a part of the staff ...

I have no idea if we will turn out as a operational group - but in the case that there's enough of staff available to keep it going we will surely get on with ... with Mika as our new translator as BadKarma was involved in the rebellion to bust the group.

So ... I promise to keep you updated as things develop ... but don't get the hopes too high yet.

    Hopefully they can keep going!

    More from Ju-Ni's shoutbox;

  • stormbringer : I'm working on the try to keep it alive ... for now Vic and BadKarma are fired for their rebellion against me ... and including me I stand with 3 cleaners and 1 translator ... I still lack a definitive answer of three other members.

I am hoping he can keep things alive. If anybody wants to apply to Ju-Ni now is the time people.

Hmm, I can't access Ju-Ni from any one of my home computers today as occasionally happens due to voodoo or gremlins or some unknown reason.

I hope the drama blows over soon. Stuff like this happens. *looks at stars* Does EVERYBODY have PMS today? *sigh*

Yeah, but it still feels like the end of the world. I think everybody is PMsing big time. It feels so wrong though, where am I going to get my proper Bleach fix now?

I will have to wait for Manga Rain it seems.

    *cries in corner*

    I feel like someone has died. *_*;_;

It's not much, but at least I can rely on finding the raws and using my imperfect knowledge, to at least get a rough idea of what's going on in manga.

Unfortunately, imperfect knowledge can be worse than none at all x.x

Here, have an icon of the pervasive PMS.

i always thought maximum 7 was good, though definitely not fast. *shrug*

I've stuck with M7 for a long time as well. Binktopia is good too, and much faster, but their translation is often quite different from M7. Can't say with one is the "best".

I don't know where M7 stands right now, but they've been wrong numerous times before (and on really important points, as well as less important) and Binktopia... it all depends on who is their translator because one of them will not make accurate translations (everyone who reads Binktopia should be aware of this).

i wasn't aware of that. i think binktopia is a faster scanlator, yes? i usually read bleach on onemanga initially, and their version seems to be used a lot.

mangaupdates has a list of scanlators, of course, though i don't know how many are still active.

    this is just too bad.

Oh darn. Now one more good stuff is gone. T_T
Nevertheless, I'm grateful to Ju-Ni for their delication. Thank you so much for all those years.

Now,the question is speedy scanlations,or accurate translations.
It's more like sticking to translators than scanlation groups now. Most translators work freelance and then the scanlation groups like Binktopia or Franky House use it. Ju-ni is still the best I seen around but now it's gone...

Let's hope a new legacy like Ju-ni will emerge once again.

I'm actually quite upset about this. [Ju-Ni] was my favorite. I loved that they had both high quality translations and speed together in one, and their professional structure and download options were amazing too. Now I gotta figure out who to get the chapters from that has the quality and accuracy of [Ju-Ni].

I'm not a fan of M7 because their translations have a history of being faulty, and not in the "basically the same, just a different way of saying something" faulty, but faulty. Granted, I haven't read their translations in about 2 years, so maybe they've gotten better... and of course, manga-rain is superb, but they take their time, and I am impatient.

If it were just that they were having issues about the hosting of the scans and were getting frustrated about it, I could see it blowing over. But as it seems to be some type of an internal issue...I guess that's pretty much it. I mean, you can't scanlate without a translator. :/

    ;___; [Ju-Ni!]

    Thanks for the update, Janina.

*casts forlorn glance at link on [info]bleachness sidebar to ju-ni. I'm still in denial over all this and hoping things work out.

Oh man. Yeah, I'm sort of devestated. You don't get that combination of speed and accuracy very often.

I'm surprised people are taking a non-profit fan venture so seriously as to use words like "firing" and "rebellion" O_O

Well we don't know what happened there have been some hinst but nothing concrete. To be honest I don't care but I do agree wthat some measure of seriousness must be taken when scanlating and translating is done.
