Hey all

I thought I'd share my first attempt at a music video.

Being the imagnative sort which I am , I named the first version of the video Blakes7-1 , the second Blakes7-2 , and so on. This worked fine until I got as far as Blakes7-11 , and suddenly my mind was filled with the image of Our Heros trying to run a convenience store.

Avon's OTP revealed -- a short vid on Youtube. Sep. 3rd, 2008 @ 08:24 pm
[info]crycraven
Hello everyone

I was watching B7 the other day and it hit me like lightning. Avon's OTP. It's obvious - it's canon, it makes sense, it's RIGHT!

This revelation may surprise those of you who have come to know that I like everyone/everyone and won't fight on the beaches about any interpretation. But as I say, this was a message from above. All I can do is obey, and I have worked through the night to bring you this short video. All you shippers - take note. Your pairings are as dust beneath my chariot wheels.

please don't kill me I was bored and got into The Human League for the B/A Vid

(xposted)

(ETA: OTP = One True Pairing.)

Glee and squee! My Blake/Avon vid is done and on Youtube. Sep. 2nd, 2008 @ 03:07 pm

Thanks so much to everyone who responded to my posts asking for moments to include. Now see the fruits of your kindness! (And for the bit with the suggestive tool-holding, blame [info]jaxomsride... *grin*)

I hope you enjoy it!

The video is here

The song has some great lyrics: it's as if it were written with this idea in mind. Most notably -

'Our paths may cross against the odds to wreck the plans you made...'    *shiver*

Screencap hunt Aug. 27th, 2008 @ 01:56 am
[info]green_wing
I'm trying to find some really good quality hi-res dvd caps of Soolin's beautifully braided hair from 4.06 "Headhunter" :)

I want to try it on myself but I can't find any screencaps of the back of the hair, so I don't quite know how it works yet?

Can anyone point me in the direction of some that I can use? *looks hopeful*

Question for the community members... Aug. 23rd, 2008 @ 04:33 pm
[info]green_wing
I've been a long time fan of B7 and have just recently got back into it *yay for LJ* and I'm also addicted to Rating/Stamping communities (I currently own/manage five of them)

Would anyone be interested in joining if I were to create a Blake's 7 rating/stamping community?

The idea of these communties is, you fill out a survey and answer some questions, then the other members vote on which character your personality is most like :)

It's a lot of fun but only if you get enough members to keep it active :O

So...what are everyone's thoughts? Should I go ahead and create it? What sort of questions would you like to see added to the general survey? Would anyone be up to creating some character stamps?

Blake's 7 on Facebook Jul. 30th, 2008 @ 11:23 am
[info]steverogerson
I discovered today that there is a Blake's 7 group on Facebook:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Blakes-7/10247269815

London Blake's 7 meet Jul. 21st, 2008 @ 05:18 pm
[info]steverogerson
The Blake's 7 Forum London meeting will be Saturday 2nd August. All welcome. We will meet at Lancaster Gate tube staition, from 1 till say 1.30pm. Lancaster Gate is on the Cenrtal line.

The nearest train station is Paddington, (on the Circle, District and Bakerloo lines).

We`ll then walk from Lancaster Gate station to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. This park boasts formal plantings, the serpentine gallery (free to enter, so could provide shelter). It also has a Lido (outdoor swimming pool).

Other attractions include boating lake, Peter Pans statue, kiosk, bird sanctuary, restaurant and cafeteria.

Remember to bring your own food and drink (NO BOOZE).
It would also be nice to bring nuts and seeds for the wildlife...

After eating we can explore the parks facilities of peruse the long list of cheap/free museums exhibits.

For those who come down the day before, the London group will be having their monthly Beer & Blake's 7 event on the Friday night. This will start at 7pm at the Knights Templar, 95 Chancery Lane WC2A 1DT. This is a real ale pub that does reasonably priced food.

Please enjoy my Avon video xx Jul. 19th, 2008 @ 04:55 pm

This took me SO LONG to make on movie maker I am surprised I didn't throw my laptop out the window...and between you, me, and my cup of cold tea, I'm not very good with computers so spending hours on tutorials trying to prevent it hanging and crashing every time I opened it was not fun.

So I've been upgraded to Sony Vegas. I may have to marry it.

 Have a look-see... )

Announcing a new Blake's 7 fan fiction archive Jul. 16th, 2008 @ 01:17 pm
[info]vilakins

Hip Deep in Heroes is a new Blake's 7 fan fiction archive.

It is completely independent of LJ and is not intended to replace anything. [info]b7fic will remain, being an excellent way of keeping up with new fiction via your flist. Rather, the new archive is a successor to the Hermit Library which, as several of us have found, is no longer being updated. Hip Deep in Heroes is intended to be a searchable archive to which any B7 fan can upload stories.

Features

  • Authors (once registered under the name they prefer) upload their own stories, and then have control over them. They may edit them and delete them at any time without anyone else's intervention.

  • You can search stories by season, character or a combination of two characters, rating, genre, and story type etc. All of the story's attributes also appear in the automatically generated header. You can also search for stories by author.

  • You can load longer stories in chapters.

  • You can create series of stories, either exclusive to you, or shared by several authors.

  • Readers can leave feedback without having to register.

  • There is an extensive Help which should give you all you need to start uploading your stories.

Have a look at the fiction already there to see how the archive works. Feel free to ask me any questions.

Jumpcon in Boston cancelled for this weekend Jul. 15th, 2008 @ 04:09 pm
[info]acciochocolate
I think that most of the Doctor Who-related guests for the Boston Jumpcon, like Mary Tamm and John Levene, had already cancelled or been cancelled by the con, but getting the word out is important.

Jacqueline Pearce was making her only Jumpcon appearance at Boston, btw.

That's three Jumpcons cons in a row, cancelled. I can't imagine that any of the others will be a "go". Folks in Boston can go to Readercon this weekend, but it's a totally literary con, with no media guests. Can't say that I wasn't expecting this. Blast! Between this debacle and FedCon in Dallas, fans, especially those new to organized fandom, could be doubtful about other cons, and it could hurt long-established cons. :(

Total article about the cancellation is under the cut.

Note: from the [info]jumpconcons community, it looks as though as future Jumpcons are cancelled. This may be rumour, however.

Audio Adventure: When Vila met Gan Jul. 8th, 2008 @ 04:40 pm
[info]steverogerson
This is the first of the early years series that B7 Media are making and tells the story - as the title says - of when Vila met Gan.

There is not much plot, but a lot of quite amusing dialogue, starting in the prologue when they joke about the desirability of a teleport. Other interesting facts that come out include that Gan apparently comes from Croydon and Vila's grandma used to make curried goat.

Michael Keating slips back into his Vila role with ease and Owen Aaronovitch gets a better chance to explore his role as Gan than he did on the original B7 Media audio adventures.

The concept is a bit fanficish in that there is no real evidence from the original series that Vila and Gan had a history, but then again there was nothing to say they didn't, so I think that is fair enough.

Overall, an enjoyable addition to the B7 Media canon.

Damn....And I can't go.... Jul. 6th, 2008 @ 01:11 pm

Jacqueline Pearce is going to be at Jumpcon in Boston this month, which I only found out about three days ago.

Had I known sooner, I could have scheduled to have my wisdom teeth removed a week later or something. Seriously. We almost NEVER get B7 actors in the US these days. (Heck, last time I was at a media convention with a B7 actor it was in the late 80s!)

Ah well.
