10:22 am [viciouscabaret]	Screaming Banshee Aircrew album launch! Screaming Banshee Aircrew - exclusive launch show for their new album "Sugar". Friday 3rd July 2009 The Subculture, Wade Lane, Leeds. Screaming Banshee Aircrew first played for us at the Subculture (or "Bassment" as it was then) six years ago, since then they've released three albums, various video and ep releases, and generally gone on to take the UK goth scene by storm. Originally from Yorkshire (where else?!), these legends now stand on the verge of world domination with the release of their fourth album... and we're incredibly chuffed that they've chosen Leeds to host the offical launch party!  Probably the most flamboyant live band in country, this is your opportunity to get "Sugar" before anyone else! Support comes from Luxury Stranger, who draw on the darkness of post-punk, the theatre of 70s glam (Bowie/Eno/Reed/Pop) and the commerciality of 80s new wave, evoking both The Chameleons and The Cure along the way. Tickets for Amalgamation are now available from here: http://www.actiondirecte.co.uk/amalgamation/tickets.htm The weekend ticket is £15. This covers all entry to the Friday and Saturday gigs. Due to Saturday being an alldayer, it is £15 on the door for the Saturday, so getting an advance ticket effectively gets you into Friday for free. If for some reason you only want to attend Friday night's revellries, it will be £3 on the door with prepaid weekend tickets having priority. 12:09 pm [mister_vodka]	Lesbain Bed Death & Legion: Free Gig This Saturday Lesbian Bed Death "When goth has degrading sex with glam" Probably best known for the controversial club hit "Goth Girls Are Easy", they take on board a slew of influences ranging from the Misfits to Billy Idol, The Sisters to Motley Cure... and put on an energetic, charismatic and OTT live performance. Legion "Smoke machines, drum machines, amphetamines" Leeds' newest goth band, playing goth rock in the classic style. The tag line says it all. The Mannville Arms is at the bottom of Great Horton Road, just opposite Bradford college, and was known for a while as The Head. This Saturday, 7th February. Approximate running times are: DJ from 8pm, Legion @ 9pm, Lesbian Bed Death @ 10pm, then DJ 'til 1am. Admission is free. (1 Comment |Comment on this)

9:55 pm [icklekitty]	ThisOneIsOnUs - Another Version of the Truth (In HD @ YouTube) On 5th May, 2008, Nine Inch Nails released their latest album, The Slip, free online, as a gift to their fans. Or as Trent put it: "This one's on me". On December 13th, 2008, dozens of Nine Inch Nails fans recorded the last show in the Lights In The Sky tour at Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas. By working together, we aim to create a DVD to document this show that will be released free online, and possibly as a not-for-profit physical release. This one, is on us. Our time. Our effort. Our present to all NIN fans. If you want to get involved in this project, please visit ThisOneIsOnUs.org. We are currently in the networking phase, so any help will be greatly appreciated. This is the fourth Flock of the new run and our first three were amazingly busy! Featuring the same request-friendly DJing you know from both 'Oblivion' at Le Phonographique and the legendary long-running 'Sunday Club' (aka Black Sheep), expect all your favourite goth, industrial, 80s, punk and new wave tunes, not to mention plenty of that bizarre stuff you only ever heard down the Phono! 9:24 am [viciouscabaret]	There's some stuff changing in Leeds. As you may be aware Transmission has now ended and from the 5th September Friday Flock (the irreverent Phono goth/industrial night) will return. We're also endeavouring to run regular "early door" gigs before Friday Flock, we're treating them as separate to the clubnight (as door prices may vary) although entry to the gigs will always get you into Friday Flock free. The gigs kick off on the same night as the first Flock, with live sets from both Rome Burns and Violet Vortex. We've also got forthcoming live events organised featuring bands such as Screaming Banshee Aircrew and Cybercide. If all that wasn't enough, Black Sheep is still Leeds' only weekly goth/industrial night, free entry every Sunday night down the Subculture.
