Woman Sues Victoria's Secret For Thong Injury

Woman Says Metal Piece Flew Off, Struck Eye

LOS ANGELES -- A California woman has filed a lawsuit against Victoria's Secret, alleging that she was injured while putting on her thong, KNBC-TV in Los Angeles reported.

Marcrida Patterson, 52, said she was injured by a defective "low-rise v-string" made by Victoria's Secret. The item is part of the company's "Sexy Little Thing" line.

Patterson claimed she was putting on the thong when a decorative metal piece flew off and struck her in the eye. She suffered permanent damage to her cornea, according to the lawsuit.

A copy of the June 9 complaint was posted on the Web site TheSmokingGun.com. The site reported that the lawsuit does not specify monetary damages.

Patterson's lawyer said a "design problem" caused the piece to fly off and strike Patterson, according to the Web site.

The Web site reported that a Victoria's Secret representative requested to examine the thong before the lawsuit was filed. The request was rejected by Patterson's attorney, according to the site.

Last time I checked, you didn't need your eyes on the same level as your crotch to put on your drawers - cause that's the only way she would have been close enough for anything to fly off the thong to hit her in the eye in the first place...

exactly! the only design problem was that she was tryna fit a size xxl ass into a size xs thong! if a grown-ass middle-age woman wants to rock some coochie-floss than more power to her. but please know what you're doing first before you put an eye out!

It doesn't say they aren't asking for money and because it's not a criminal case, I'm pretty sure she's seeking damages. This won't go anywhere, it'll get settled outside of court. They're going to have to let VS check out the thong, most likely during discovery.

I understand accidents, but this is just weird.

If a woman of any age wants to wear a thong, what's the problem? It's not like 20-year-olds are the only ones who need to worry about VPL.

That said, I'm not sure if you could argue it was an integral "design problem" -- probably just crap sewing from some third-world undies factory, like everything else at VS.

Silly lawsuit, but so what she's 52? I've seen 25 year olds in pretty bad physical shape, I'm only 5 pounds heavier than I was at 25.
